About this property
Romantic Log Cabin on Privately-Owned Lake with Fireplace
TOTALLY PRIVATE!!! Our 85-acre parcel of land located in northern Dutchess County offers a variety of terrain for exploring - woods, streams, meadows, and even a gorge.
The log cabin, on the shore of our privately owned three and one-half acre lake, is the only dwelling on the lake. The closest neighbor to it is close to 1/4 mile away.
A large, stone fireplace and a picture window overlooking the lake are the special features of the cabin as well as the covered front porch with hanging chairs and redwood sofa and chairs. Sleep on a queen sized sofa bed in our large living room. There are also chairs and hammocks hanging outside from a number of trees.
Outdoor cooking is made pleasurable with your choice of a gas grill or a stone charcoal barbecue, and dining is done on a large picnic table sitting on a fieldstone patio or on a picnic table at the dock area. You can also dine inside in front of the picture window, if you prefer. A herb garden (in season) offers a choice of 12 different herbs to use in your cooking!
Outdoor lighting is extensive if you desire it. We prefer the stars and moonlight reflecting off the lake!

So glad that you enjoyed your stay in spite of the weather.
I understand that the fish were really biting and kept you busy in spite of the raindrops! Did you really catch almost 100????
The cabin was wonderful and was stocked will everything we needed and more. The lake was both beautiful and private to just this cabin. The grounds had several trails that we enjoyed.

My fiancé and I had an amazing stay at this cabin. Very quiet and peaceful and lots to do just on the property alone. The host Karen was very nice and welcoming, left us ice cream sundaes and set up a birthday sign for my fiancé on our arrival! Beautiful cabin and very private, we will definitely be back!
One of the most memorable vacation rentals I have ever had. From booking to, locking ourselves out on accident, to our check out time, the customer service not only was fantastic but felt as though you were visiting a close friend’s home. The stay was wonderful without a single complaint. Karen was an absolute sweetheart and I will definitely be staying here again very soon. She goes above and beyond for her renters and we appreciated every gesture. Thank you Karen!!! :)

You are right! It's a great escape from the craziness of the city! Glad you enjoyed yourselves and hope to see you again in the future!
Easily the best vacation of my life. The cabin was so cozy and warm i never wanted to leave. The lake and surrounding forest were beautiful, like a fantasy world. Me and my partner will be coming back at the soonest opportunity
we had a wonderful time in this idyllic corner of the Hudson Valley. Totally isolated on the beautiful lake with a charming cabin with a front porch that we only left when we wanted to swim. A cure for the quarantine blues!

Thank you for the kind words! Enjoyed meeting you both!!
My wife and I stayed at the cabin for a long weekend to celebrate our anniversary. We enjoyed exploring the woods, swimming in the lake, and watching the storms roll in from the covered porch. The property was such a peaceful place to relax and enjoy nature!
Great experience all around. Great little galley kitchen with everything you need. Hammocks galore! Wind chimes rocked us to sleep, wild geese greeted us in the morning
Wonderful! Very clean - What a special place, great "spirit" - close to the FDR Presidential Library, Taconic Distillary, the Back Beer Garden and the Cabin (tavern)! Awesome for a couple, relax, swim, fish - no neighbors! Lotsa Bass for the catching!

Glad you enjoyed and thanks for being one of our best guests! I believe the cabin was cleaner when you left than when you arrived! The fish thank you for returning them to their watery home!
Beautiful, peaceful little one-room cabin right on a small lake. We had a wonderful time -- fireplace, rowboat, sunny porch, hiking in the surrounding woods, no one else around. Hudson valley (Red Hook, Poet's Walk) within driving distance.

Glad you enjoyed the cabin and hiking through the WInnakee Land Trust that adjoins our property! Hope to see you both again!
Karen and Serge's cabin for 2 nights provided the perfect reset from the city. The property is so peaceful and beautiful providing the right balance of tranquil relaxation with the sound of local or migrating birds on a mirrored lake.Grilling on property was a pleasure but I would also highly recommend the local market and restaurants too. We had delightful bites and coffee each day from Big Rock Market.10 out of 10 would stay again.
Beautiful plants all over. Although it raiend while we were there, it was so nice to hear the differnt wind chimes as the winds came. Loveley natural wonder of a cabin. Karen was a great host & checkin/checkout was a breeze. Its a perfect spot for a couples getaway. I have seen a crane, some miniature chicken looking bird, deer, blue jays, turtles, pretty big fish, and lots of lovely flora. Very peaceful & close to nature.
My husband and I celebrated our 30th anniversary at Karen's cozy cabin. We enjoyed the quiet and relaxing atmosphere and complete privacy. We enjoyed hiking the many trails on the property, relaxing in the many hammocks on the grounds, the fireplace, and the row boat.
Karen was a wonderful host and was very helpful! The ice cream sundaes were delicious. We will definitely be back!
