Beautiful cabin with lots of space. Owner very easy to reach and very helpful. Highly recommend if you’re looking for a place that feels secluded but isn’t too far from plenty of things to do.
This property was the perfect getaway. It is stocked with everything you need. Very comfy. The fireplace is amazing and they supply plenty of firewood. Great communication with the owner/manager. Will definitely keep this on our list.
The cabin is clean and well appointed. I used the cabin for my base of operations for some fly fishing in the numerous nearby streams/creeks. If you’re looking to relax and unwind, this is a great place.
The cabin was all we could have hoped for for our relax and refresh getaway. Just wish we had booked longer! Perfect setting, and all the amenities were awesome. Thank you so much! Can't wait to come back
A perfect secluded getaway for me and my husband. We absolutely loved our long weekend at the Forest House. The cabin is clean and very cozy, and well stocked with essentials. The location is beautiful and conveniently located to Michaux Forest and many good hiking spots. When we weren’t out exploring, the fireplace and firepit were perfect for a relaxing night. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay!
We stayed here over winter break and had a great time! The loft was fun for the kids to sleep in. The cabin was well designed and great for our needs. Really liked the basement area for the adults to relax in after the kids were asleep. We were able to do some hiking in the area as well as drive to town for bowling. It was also an easy drive to roundtop ski resort. The kids already want to come back again!
The Forest House cabin is a lovely and comfortable place to enjoy some peace and quiet in a tranquil forest setting. One highlight of our stay at The Forest House was watching a deer stroll across the backyard while enjoying a blazing fire in the fire pit in the backyard. We appreciated the gracious hospitality and abundant supplies that made our stay very enjoyable. We are thankful for the happy memories we made while staying in The Forest House!
Everything was provided and well stocked. We just loved the coziness of the place. We knew this home is well loved with the attention to detail. The backyard firepit was amazing where we enjoyed some s’mores. The living room space was perfect for chatting and playing games. The kitchen had everything and more for our meals. The home was close to Pine Grove Furnace where the lakes and hiking trails were great. Thank you so much for opening your home.

Great cabin getaway
Beautiful cabin, we enjoyed our stay there. A couple of deer wandered around and the fireflies were out this time of year. Good location out in the woods for quiet nights and rest. A few small complaints since the dvd player wouldn't power on, and even though the bath tub looked like it was rinsed it had hair around the drain still which made us question the cleanliness. But overall the place was well maintained and nicely furnished.
The forest house was a perfect place to have a mini reunion of 3 generations of women, my mom, daughter and myself.
The log home is beautiful, and our hosts really thought of everything to make us feel comfortable.
while enjoying coffee on the porch a hummingbird greeted us almost close enough to touch, moments later a fox came up the driveway.
We would have been content to not leave at all, but we certainly enjoyed exploring the area a bit and picking up local fruit and veggies at the road side stands.
I truly thank our hosts for sharing their property, and we hope to return.
Very Sincerely,
Nancy

This was our fourth stay at Forest House. The home is meticulously clean and is exactly as advertised. Went to the Carlisle car show and also the State Park (Pine Grove Furnace) which was awesome. Had a great fire out at the firepit but I must recommend guests bring a small splitting maul to split the large logs for the fire pit.(I split some good wood and left it for the next guests) Hope you appreciate it. The owner Burt is very responsive but doubt you'll need him since the whole house is turn key perfect. This is a small cabin but has everything anyone would need to have a fun time! Hope to come back again!
We had an awesome time at the Forest House. We were able to meet our thru hiker son at the halfway mark on the Appalachian Trail and had a wonderful time relaxing at the house. The house is very well stocked; clean, comfortable, and beautiful. The fire pit and backyard space is so relaxing as is the surrounding area. We are already planning another visit and can't wait! Definitely a 5 star rental!!
We stayed just two nights and hiked from the house one afternoon and from Pine Grove Furnace State Park the second day. The cabin is in a quiet area and it presents a great “cabin” atmosphere. We found everything to be just as described in the listing. If you’re looking forward to relaxing in a quiet location, this is a perfect place to stay regardless of the time of year.Accommodations are perfect for up to three couples. The host was also very attentive and offered helpful ideas for things to do in the area. Our group has spent time in the woods of north central PA, New Hampshire and Maine. Our stay here felt very much like these other locations, but was a much shorter drive from our home outside of Philadelphia. We are already considering another trip back in the future. Thanks for the great accommodations!
Property is easy to access, located near many local hiking trails, and convenient to groceries and necessities if needed. Plenty of space for a larger group but also not too big for our small family of 3. Thanks for a great stay!

Why they chose this property
We have worked really hard to make The Forest House nice, clean, fun and most of all affordable. Folks tell us that we should be charging more—but, quite frankly, we are tired of being priced out of vacation homes ourselves. In return, we ask folks to take care of the place and help keep the magic alive. Have a great stay. The Forest House @ Lake Warren Estates
