Responsive, friendly host. Clean, quiet, fantastic location set in the pines. Stocked with all the dishes and toiletries you may need, this was the perfect location for a couple needing to be with nature!
If you’re looking for a nice getaway with your man or woman! Lk no further! This was just what we needed! A porch, a bed, a kitchen, a bathroom! Small, but ah, such charm! Location was top notch! We loved everything about Tale of the Trout! What a relaxing treat for our 10 year anniversary!
The “Tale of the Tout “ is a perfect little place to getaway for a couple nights. And as advertised it’s extremely close to the spillway and trout fishing.
Cabin was immaculately clean. Well stocked kitchen. Amazing bathroom with large shower. Even had shampoo, conditioner, and body wash in the shower. Very quiet and perfect location to get to Beavers Bend state park and to all the restaurants. We give it a 10/10 and will definitely go back.
Great Location & Amenities, Needs Upkeep & CleaningPROS:• Location: Convenient off Hwy 259 in Hochatown/Beavers Bend. Close to dining, activities, trails, and swimming.• Amenities: Great high-speed Wi-Fi (crucial since cell service is spotty!). Nice decor, 3-4 car parking, secluded feel.• Kitchen & Outdoors: Modern appliances (Ninja coffee maker, convection microwave, deep sink), fully stocked (crockpot, toaster, spices). Small bedroom aeea with closet/cabinet storage. Fire pit w/wood, picnic table, 2 chairs, cute string lights on back porch.CONS:• Layout & Privacy: Entrance is on Lamprey, not Moray. Deck connects to neighbors (owners?). No blinds on front/back doors or kitchen window (zero privacy/light control).• Porch & Towels: Porch covered in cobwebs, bird nest, abandoned dog bowls; gate latch misaligned. Provided 1 towel/washcloth per person/day, but "washcloths" included a kitchen dish towel and makeup wipes.• Maintenance: Curled kitchen rug (tripping hazard), loose sink drawer face, falling ceiling trim, back deadbolt doesn't lock/door drags, burnt porch bulb, fogged windows blocking views.• Cleaning: Dirty windows; dust on fan, fridge top, HVAC vent (possible mold on outlet); cobwebs on decor; fingerprints/splashes on doors & fridge exterior; dirty fireplace.• Checkout: Host requires stripping beds and hauling trash to driveway, which should be included in the paid cleaning fee.
This place was perfect. So close to everything but so quiet it felt like we were secluded. The bed is comfortable, the shower is really nice. This was our first stay in a studio but we did not feel cramped at all. Very clean and comfortable

Thank you so much for the kind words! We are so glad y’all enjoyed your stay. Come back anytime.
The property was fun and whimsical and loved the outdoor patio and grill area. Didn't need anything as we were blessed with coffee and provided with all you would need to cook. The bathroom was nice and roomy and the fireplace was nice as well as the sofa and bed comfy comfortable. The walk to the door was a little bit of a challenge with these old knees but we were fine. Would stay again!
