Walk to the Slopes | Mountain Views | Sleeps 12 | Game Room | Firepit

Welcome to Slopeside Lodge!
Walk to Beech Mountain Resort, the ski slopes, snow tubing, Ski Village, restaurants, brewery, coffee and shopping—all from this spacious three-level mountain lodge.
Perched high on Beech Mountain, Slopeside Lodge offers an unbeatable location, year-round mountain views, central air conditioning, comfortable gathering spaces, and plenty of room for family and friends.
After a day on the slopes, come home to a cozy fire, relax on one of the rear decks, gather around the firepit, or head downstairs for a game of pool, darts or arcade games. The home's peaceful natural setting also offers opportunities to spot local wildlife, including deer, birds and other mountain animals.
With sleeping accommodations for up to 12 guests, three private bedrooms, a spacious open loft and a large lower-level game room, there is room for everyone to spread out and enjoy the mountain.

MAIN LEVEL
The heart of Slopeside Lodge is the open-concept great room, kitchen and dining area, featuring soaring vaulted tongue-and-groove ceilings, comfortable seating, cozy blankets, a new gas fireplace, and a 75-inch Roku Smart TV mounted above the fireplace. Central air conditioning provides added comfort during the warmer mountain months.
The fully equipped kitchen makes it easy to prepare everything from a quick breakfast before hitting the slopes to a family dinner after a day in the mountains. The dining area seats up to 10 guests.
The main-level Primary Suite features a king bed, TV and private ensuite bathroom with a soaking tub and separate shower. A second main-level bedroom offers a queen bed and TV, with a full bathroom conveniently located in the hallway. A laundry room is also located on this level.
Step outside onto the rear deck to enjoy the mountain scenery. The deck includes a bistro table, outdoor bar seating, a gas grill and plenty of space to relax with a morning coffee or evening cocktail while taking in the views.

UPSTAIRS LOFT
The spacious open loft is one of the home's most versatile spaces, with three twin day beds and a twin trundle bed arranged around the perimeter. The open center provides plenty of room for children to play, spread out games, relax, or create a cozy sleeping area.
The loft also features a 50-inch Smart TV and shares a full bathroom with the upstairs queen bedroom.

LOWER-LEVEL GAME ROOM
The large lower-level family and game room is designed for entertaining after a day on the mountain. Challenge your group to a game of pool on the 8-foot pool table, play darts, enjoy the arcade game, or settle in for a movie on the large Smart TV.
A mini refrigerator provides convenient extra beverage and snack storage, while the queen sleeper sofa provides additional sleeping space. The lower level also includes a full bathroom with shower and access to the lower deck, where you can enjoy additional seating with mountain views.

OUTDOOR MOUNTAIN LIVING
One of the best features of Slopeside Lodge is the opportunity to enjoy the mountain air and natural surroundings. Gather around the firepit area with sturdy Adirondack chairs for an evening campfire under the stars. We really enjoyed our stay! The location was perfect for a ski weekend. We could easily walk to the slopes with our kids which was ideal! The place was very clean, the bedrooms were spacious, the views were beautiful, and the bonus game room was a hit! We would definitely stay again!

We had a very good stay at this property. Positives: The location was perfect. We could walk to the slopes. The space was plentiful with more than enough rooms and beds. Well stocked kitchen. The view was beautiful! Gas fireplace/heater makes for a cozy living room. Not so positives: The windows have blinds only, so sunlight will get in easily. We noticed some plates and silverware were stored dirty. Overall a great place. Look fire to staying again

Everything was great about this place. I would give it five stars for location next to the ski slope. The only complaint is that the thermostats are misleading because they are not located in the same area that they control. It would be very helpful to know which part of the house that they heat or cool. Also did not find the linens for the downstairs until we were cleaning up to leave. I would suggest putting that information in your directions for the house.

As described, GREAT LOCATION

The pictures do NOT do this property justice. It is lovely and perfectly situated for our needs. Two families shared this property for end-of-season ski adventures. Easy to find. Sufficient space to park safely. Great views. Thank you for a great stay.

The place was beautiful, website doesn’t do the mountain view justice in the morning ! There was neighborhood construction that started early and went most of the day so as soon as that is over it’s perfect!

Great Mountain Getaway

Great mountain get away convenient to get to Beech & Banner Elk! We loved sitting on the deck for the view itself. And being at the higher elevation in August, it was nice to put on a long sleeve T-shirt and enjoy the cooler weather! We appreciated the comfortable sectional and the very comfortable king size bed in the primary bedroom. We wanted to play pool in the evening but we were honestly too tired from hiking during the day. Next time we will book a longer stay!

This house was perfect for our stay. It is as close as you can get to the slopes without being directly on the slopes. Just a short walk through parking lot 1 and you are there. My husband and I are a bit older and out of shape, so we rented an XL locker for 2 days and just kept our boots in there so we wouldn't have to trek back and forth in them. But, that was just us being lazy - the walk is literally only 5-7 minutes MAX. The only thing that could be improved (and this is miniscule) would be replacing the 5 cup coffee pot with a 12 cup. My husband and I are big coffee drinkers and we had to make multiple back to back pots to make enough for us. There is a Keurig machine available but we don't use those. The rooms were spacious yet cozy, beds comfortable, and the kitchen had everything we needed. There were only 6 of us but we could have easily fit 4 more people. The downstairs game room is PERFECT for kids - we hardly ever saw our teens; when they weren't on the slopes they were playing pool downstairs. Communication was top notch! This house easily goes down as a favorite and if we come back to Beech to ski, it will be the first one we look at to stay in again.

We were in town for a summer concert at Beech and an all around relaxing, mountain weekend. This house provided the perfect accommodations! We walked right down the side yard to parking lot 1 at Beech. House is clean and spacious. Super comfortable and had everything we needed. Views are beautiful. Deer families visited. We will definitely look to stay here again!

Great location to ski slopes

We were a family of 8, 6 adults and 2 children ages 7 and 9. We were able to walk to the ski resort. Everyone could come and go as they wanted. The house was very clean. There was a big Crock Pot. Bring a ladle if needed. We couldn't find one. The drip coffee pot was great, but I would recommend getting one that has automatic shut off. There is a small Keurig, but we couldn't get it to work. This house gave us plenty of room for separating as needed. The downstairs room was great for the kids. It has a pool table and smart TV. I would recommend this house to anyone who wants to be close to the ski slopes. We had a great time.

2022 Beech Mountain Ski

The property location was spot on for skiing Beech Mountain! From the start the email communication can be a drag especially when your in an area with limited service. Courtesy phone calls would be a nice welcome from time to time. We got notice of the morning of check in that we might not be able to stay the night due to the storm and the previous tenants not getting out in time. Thats not something you want to hear 9.5 hours from home with NO where to stay. Either way it worked out and we were able to stay, of course CCR didn't let me know that (as they promised they would) I just went and tried my code at check in time. The listing said that there were parking for three cars but it was more like one and a half since they snow was pilled in the middle of the drive, we made do with 4x4 trucks. Once in the house we found the dishes were all left dirty in the dishwasher, and the dryer was full of linens. After getting that sorted out everything was ok, until the heat down stairs quit working. I will say that Carolina Cabin Rentals did handle this the quickest and best way they could. The situation was temporarily resolved for our stay and we were comfortable. Overall the location was ideal and the house is fairly nice. It could use some maintenance and a thurough cleaning. I have rented from VRBO many times and I usually try and rent direct with owners as I like the open communication that comes with that. Using a rental company tends to complicate the situation, and most of the times the properties aren't as clean as they should be. It's like it's treated as just another number and NOT there own. Overall though the property was ok and the stay was nice I would use it again it just might not be my first choice.

Cozy and Convenient

My family came to Beech Mountain to relax and do some spring skiing. This house was a great fit for us. We really enjoyed the convenience of being able to come and go to the mountain as we pleaded without waiting for everyone in our party to be ready. The house was cozy and clean yet everyone had their own space. We really enjoyed evenings playing pool and the added bonus of TV’s in every room.

Northern Exposure

Best thing about this house was the location. Not so great things about this house were the following: the kitchen is not fully equipped, house felt a bit dirty, there was dog hair all over all the blankets which does not bode well for people with allergies, there was trash left outside the front door when we arrived, not enough towels for the number of people staying, pillowcases but no pillow inserts for the pull out couch downstairs. Just an okay experience.

4 Stars

We had a great weekend at Northern Exposure. Everything was clean in the house. We were told that the pullout couch would have sheets and it did not. Also we're told that towels would be left in each bathroom and the downstairs bathroom did not have towels.

Lots of space

This house is really spacious. It sleeps a lot of people comfortably and has a bathroom on every floor. It has an open floor plan which fits groups comfortably and the view are spectacular. There are only a couple of minor drawbacks that you could plan around - the firepit is on a steep slope which makes seating a bit of a challenge and there are also only two chairs so bring some if you want to use it. Also, the kitchen is lacking some pretty basic items - pot holders, cutting boards, enough glassware for the number of people the house sleeps.

North Exposure - 5 Stars

We loved our stay at Northern Exposure and it will definitely be our first choice of places to stay the next time we are coming to the Beech Mountain area. Location was great and quiet. Loved being able to walk to the Ski Beech area. House was very comfortable. Game room and pool table was enjoyed many evenings during our stay. Loved the long range views from the front doors of the beautiful mountains. Carolina Cabins was great to work with in renting. They were very friendly and helpful in providing all necessary information and answered all of our questions. ***I do not want this added to the review online as I wouldn't want it to keep someone from wanting to rent. Rather, it is some suggestions that might would be worth knowing. The bathroom lock to the sliding door in the master bathroom did not work and so the door wouldn't stay closed. When someone was needing to use that bathroom we had to close the bedroom door and lock it for privacy. There was also a very large space under the door from master bedroom to master bath which I'm guessing is from maybe where there used to be carpet? The ceiling fan light closest to the front door was burned out and needs to be replaced. When we arrived (first thing we always do when traveling) we opened the dishwasher to start a load of items that we knew we would need for immediate use. There was a really bad odor in the dishwasher so we ran a cycle without dishes and throughout the week left it cracked instead of it being closed up completely unless we were running a cycle. I'm not certain that it was cleaning very well either so we ended up hand washing most of the dishes while there. Several of the glasses had chips on the lip area or cracks. The kitchen table had food crumbs and even popcorn kernels in the cracks. I understand how hard those are to keep clean but was surprised that it was not cleaned out between renters. Due to the house that is being built down the hill, once it is being stayed in, I would feel much more comfortable having some blinds that could be closed at night in the living room area as well as the game room area. Because we had to utilize the game room area also as a bedroom, I think my son would have felt more comfortable having blinds he could have closed since the curtains didn't fully cover the doors. Again, please do not take any of this as that we didn't enjoy the house and our stay. We had a wonderful time and was very comfortable! We are already talking about when we can get back up there and would for sure want to rent the house again. I actually told my husband that I would love to rent for a month and he and my son could come up for long weekends:). All places have their little quirks about them and we do understand that..these are just some things that we noticed and thought it was worth mentioning. Thank you again for allowing us to rent and use the house!
