Cozy "Beach" Cabin in the woods with Pentwater Lake frontage and access

Welcome to Cozy Cove Cabins, a historic part of Pentwater tradition that was renovated in 2018. Cozy Cove has been around for decades and consists of 4 Bel Air log cabins. Bel Air log cabins are found all over northern Michigan and are named after the town of Bel Air where they originated.

Cabin 3 is referred to as "The Beach," and sleeps 4. The cabin is roughly 400 square feet, with an open floor plan. The main sleeping area sleeps 2 on the king bed, and the sofa sleeper has a queen pull out that sleeps 2. The living room features a sleeper sofa, chairs, and flat screen smart tv. The cabin has an updated bath with a standup shower and a fully equipped kitchen. The rental also provides access to paddle boats, kayaks, and paddle boards, as available. The cabin sits on a couple of wooded acres on the lake, providing waterfront, woods, and access to beaches and the pier.

We do have a limited number of boat slips available for an additional $200/week. Please check for availability with your reservation. Slips will be held, upon request, as part of your reservation, and cash payment is due upon arrival.

Remove personal items, remove leftover food and drinks and take out the rubbish

Turn off the lights, lock the doors and return the keys

​​Wash and dry all dishes and return them to the cupboards.

Trash should be taken to the bins behind the white shed. Trash should be bagged. Dark blue/black lidded bins are for trash. Light blue lidded bins are for recycling. Recycling should be loose.

Return the key to the lockbox prior to 10:00 am on the day of your departure.

Failure to complete these may result in a negative review from the host.

These are fun, rustic cabins with access to the lake. Two of our favorite things were the sound of the breeze in the trees and the walk down to Chester Street Park (.6 mi) and then along the channel and out to the breakwater. It's a beautiful walk right from the cabin. We spent most of our time out and about as there is quite a bit to do in Pentwater, Ludington, Silver Lake and the surrounding area. Loved Mears State Park for swimming and beach time. Derek was a kind and helpful host too.

Everything was great, except the beach was under construction. That was one of the main reasons we wanted to stay there. There was no communication that was the case until we checked in and read the note that was left explaining that. We would’ve appreciated a heads up regarding that before we stayed with the option of canceling our reservation.

Derek was so kind from the very beginning. We met him outside the cabin and had a great conversation and he told us about some great spots to check out. The cabin was exceptionally clean, I didn’t even see a single bug inside! I love how we had lake access for fishing, swimming, kayaking and peddleBoating. We come to Pentwater every year for vacation, but I can say this years stay was the best yet. Thank you Derek and Christin! We hope to see you again next year.

WE BEGAN PLANNING OUR RETURN WITHIN 1 HOUR OF ARRIVING. SERIOUSLY. It’s hard to describe how good this place is for life-weathered spirits. We went to Cozy Cabins for 6 days of peace, relaxation, and new adventures after a very difficult year and found all of the above and so much more. It was perfectly described, and they delivered on every promise— and added so many unexpected personal touches. It’s thoughtfully equipped, so staying for extended periods would be easy. The only change we’ll make next summer is booking 2 additional cabins as our kids’ and grandkids’ Christmas gifts!

Perfectly located between Silver Lake and Ludington State Parks with Mears SP beach nearby. Also took the kyaks out on the Pentwater lake at the cabin. Cabin was small but clean and cozy.

Sweet, simple getaway

This was a delightful getaway for our anniversary. Everything a vacation cabin should be—rustic, nostalgic, and peaceful, with just enough modern amenities to be comfortable. We enjoyed trips to nearby towns and beaches and walking the south pier at sunset, but our favorite place was the chairs under the trees outside the cabin listening to the birds, the acorns falling, and the little slap of the screen door as we went in and out.

The cabin was what I was expecting. The bed was a bit firm for us old people. We should have brought our camping mats for extra padding. I forgot.

This place was very efficient, clean and peaceful, just what I was looking for. The town is very cozy, I recommend “The Antler” bar. Great atmosphere and the food was excellent, ate there twice, great menu.

This was our fourth stay at Cozy Cove and we had another great time! We especially like the clean, well-stocked cabin and access to kayaks. It’s the hidden gem of Pentwater— close to lots of recreation, yet secluded for quiet relaxation. We look forward to returning!

Vintage vacation winner

Originally from the Lansing, Michigan area, my family frequently vacationed at Charles Mears State Park in Pentwater, enjoying the beach, putt-putt, and the small beach-town community. It makes me smile to meet guests from all over the country, and share lake life with other families as they make lasting memories.

Why they chose this property

We are located on the south side of Pentwater Lake in a quiet neighborhood. We are a short drive to downtown or Silver Lake Sand Dunes, and a quick bike ride to Pentwater Pathways or to Chester Street Park which has a boardwalk to the channel and pier to Lake Michigan.
