Absolutely amazing property!

This house was perfect for our group of 11 - the bedrooms upstairs all have access to the deck with a view of the ocean and there was plenty of space for our group to hang out together. Would definitely recommend this for a big family or friend group who appreciate being on the ocean.

This house was wonderful with all that you might need for your stay. Very spacious as we had our three teenage daughters and my mother in law with us. Beautiful view and easy walk to beach as house sits directly on it. Would absolutely stay here again!

So good, we booked it again!!

We had an amazing time!! We spend every year the same week at Folly, and this was by far the best house we have stayed at. From the bedrooms, to the family room, to porches and beach access. We couldn’t ask for a better family stay! We loved it so much we booked the house for next year before we even left!!! Can’t wait to be back next year!

Ideal beach getaway

Saylor's Malibu provided a perfect venue for a group of lifelong friends to gather for our annual reunion. We toured the historic Charleston area, enjoyed long walks on the beach, and just hung out together at the house. You truly cannot beat the view!

The house has been completely redone in a modern sleek décor .... very nicely done and is warm and cozy. Almost every room has a beautiful view of the ocean, and if you are lucky like we were, a perfect view of an amazing sunrise!

Beautiful spot, nice house

What comfortable beds! We're concerned that the house won't be here much longer, though, as high tide literally washes around the car port. Our only real regret is that we only stayed six nights!

The properties’ views are unreal. Huge windows! Very clean . The only downside was when it was high tide there wasn’t any beach to be on.

Amazing house and location

Beautiful house directly on the beach. Amazing surfing right outside the house. Sat on the deck in the mornings and evenings watching the waves and surfers. The host was amazing and gave us a partial refund because the town was rebuilding the beach in front of the house for part of our stay (part of a Folly-wide project the summer of 2024), which I am sure is done by now. Would absolutely rent this house again.

Saylor's Malibu Stay

The house was amazing and the views from nearly every room of the house could not be beat! Beach access was incredibly convenient and the beach directly in front of the house never got crowded and felt very private. The house if far from pretty much everything, so I would definitely recommend either having a car (if you need to get far distances) or renting a golf cart to make your way around the Folly area.

Bachelorette Beach Get-Away

This was a great rental property. The balconies are just amazing and a perfect way to begin and end the day overlooking the water. The amount of space and number of bathrooms was perfect and made the house feel large enough for each guest to have some space. There are no beach chairs and the sand is not like most beaches (soft and deep) so if you can bring your own. I would definitely stay here again. The management group was helpful and stayed in touch when weather became questionable thanks to hurricane Dorian. We loved it!

We recently partnered with a great company called VayK Gear, who provides beach gear with a credit on your reservation for stays between 4-14 days, so you don't have to lug heavy beach chairs for long rentals! Wonderful Location

The house was in a perfect spot. You should have some one managing the maintenance request for Saturday check ins. Waiting until Monday is to long for showers handles to be replaces and TV cords missing. Once you got the notice everything was fine but you lose 2 days waiting. I also know it is the end of the season but the house needs some maintenance. Plugs in the bathroom not working, tears in the screens, dirty around the edges, carpets need replaces, towels had stains, garage disposal barely functions, etc... The house is in a great spot and kitchen was well equipped. I actually would stay there again if in the area. You added silverware and cups upon request which was a great help. The office people are extremely nice and very helpful when in the office. Thank you for having us.

You do not get what you pay for.

Perfect location. Other than that, the house was a disappointment. Was not cleaned very well when we arrived. House is in desperate need of upgrades, seems as if owner just stopped caring. Couch was filthy and that was about the only comfortable seating in common area. Just not worth the price you pay. Many other rentals to choose from that are more well maintained at a better price. Could be spectacular if some effort was put into the interior. Would not stay here again unless the house has been given some serious TLC.

We do perform routine inspections of the home and maintain maintenance upkeep for general wear and tear associated with the vacation rental industry, and unfortunately this guest visited us at the end of what was an extremely busy high season for the home- providing only a short window of vacancy each Saturday over the course of a few months. This does mean that now that the home will have a chance to breathe at the end of the season, we can take advantage of the available time to make any necessary improvements. With that being said- we do have a very helpful and professional team available to correct any issues, cleaning mishaps, or schedule any repairs needed during a stay with us and are always eager to assist!

House has a lot of deferred maintenance

I get it .. house is ocean front and gets beat up by the weather and by renters. But this house had an excessive amount of deferred maintenance. One bed was broken. The refrigerator door had all shelves removed and hence had no door storage. There were five (not one, five) lightbulbs that were out that needed replacement. The trash can holder in the cabinetry was broken -- when you pulled it out to throw away the trash, the entire wooden fixture fell onto the kitchen floor. We had rain and there were major leaks in the main living room (we head to put a trash can underneath it) and the first floor bedroom. In the kitchen, there were no kitchen linens, no potholders and no metal spatula for grilling. I could go on and on, but you get the picture. House was clean, location was great, but with all the deferred maintenance and just poor attention to fundamentals (lightbulbs, kitchen utensils), we give it a three.

The best view on Folly Beach

The renovations on this house were top notch. No elevator so just be prepared to take your luggage in/out for your trip (just a few stairs). I loved how the ocean/beach view is visible from all the bedrooms and from the kitchen, dining, family room! This was what we needed for our girls trip...a house with an amazing view for some much needed RNR. This is one rental property where the pictures were spot on. I loved that this beach house had everything (wine/martini/champagne glasses, plates, utensils/wine bottle opener, a coffee pot etc...) you needed aside from food/drinks/washing machine detergent! I loved opening the doors every chance I could to let that ocean air in and of course you are steps away from the beach (this house provides the chairs). It was lovely to wake to all the sailboats at the horizon and to have a cup of coffee each morning on the deck (ample seating). The only reason this is not a five star rating is because the mattresses were a little firm for my/some of the ladies liking, electronic dimming shades on the bedroom sliding doors could be a nice add on in case anyone wants to sleep in (it’s really bright in the morning), and finally some of the duvets/shams needed to be washed (especially the white ones...a couple of small stains really pop on white in the lower master). Other than that...it was simply perfect. Btw...the Lost Dog cafe is a must for anyone staying in this house/staying on Folly Beach!

The location being on a cul de sac adds to the experience and almost feels as if you have your own private beach! We do apologize about the firm bedding and shams. Great location, house needed some updates

The property is located in a perfect spot for a 6 day stay. At the end of the street, in a cul-de-saq. Close enough to the town center, fantastic view of the ocean and surfers all day. Plenty of on-premise parking. When we arrived, the house was not cleaned from the previous guests, they definitely had a birthday party and were not thoughtful in their departure. The 2 property managers from Dune Properties were quick to get us into another rental location till the property was cleaned. We were not able to officially check in till 8:00pm that evening. Dunes was great about compensating us for the inconvenience. The house was spacious with amazing views from 3 of the 5 rooms. Beds and lines nwere comfortable and bathrooms were updated and clean. The kitchen has a beautiful view, we stayed in that area the majority of the mornings and afternoons. The kitchen has a good supply of cups and dishware. However, there was not a lot of actual usable kitchen equipment. I think there was only one badly worn frying pan and no reasonable sized sauce pot, only stock pots. We ended up buying another frying pan, sauce pan, cutting boards, and a broom. Not an issue for those not cooking, but our group planned on staying in for most meals due to covid. (For the price we were charged, we expected something better than a college-like set up of random rusted kitchen utensils and a plastic burned cutting board. The first knife we used, immediately broke in half cutting lettuce.) The house needed some loving... a quick touch up of paint would go a long way. Whoever took the photos of this property did an amazing job, much better in the pictures.

Thank you for your review. We are pleased to hear that this group was able to enjoy the location and incredible views offered from the home. While we’ve hosted hundreds of vacations without housekeeping hiccups at the home, unfortunately our third party vendor let the job fall through the cracks this time. This was unacceptable, and the cleaning company is no longer servicing any of our vacation rentals moving forward. We were happy to host this group comfortably in a second oceanfront home and treat them to a happy hour while the issue was addressed, and that they were able to settle into this home a bit later. This feedback regarding the kitchen has been taken into account and we recently fully restocked the kitchen. All needs should be met going into 2022 seasons. With that, we have a professional team available on Folly Beach for 24 hour service. Please let us know if you need anything during your vacation and our team will be available to help.
