About this property

Waterfront (Sugar Island) home, with Pontoon Boat!!

This waterfront home is perfect for your "Up North Retreat". Not only does it come with a Pontoon boat for your use, but it is a 3-bedroom, tri-level home with a lot of living space and a great fire pit area.
Located on the Northeast side of Sugar Island, on the St. Mary's River (by the Mouth of Lake George). This house is in the middle of other properties known as "The Sugar Suite" (Same owners and that listing is VRBO #475245) and The Nest. Each of these properties are 2 houses down (about 250 feet), so perfect accommodations for a large group!
Do you want to bring your boat? You are more than welcome! In fact, there is a DNR boat launch about a mile or so from this location, so putting it in the water once you arrive at the Island House will not be an issue and we have room for you to park your trailer! If you plan to use the Pontoon boat (holds 1000 lbs) between Memorial Day - Labor Day, please bring life jackets (all children 12 and Under must be wearing their life jackets at all times - US Coast Guard regulation). We make sure the pontoon boat is full of gas for your arrival, and though we can help you get more gas if needed, we do prefer you have it full again before you leave. Thank you!
We'll provide all of the linens, but expect you to bring your own paper products.
If you possess your Michigan Fishing License, than you can not only use your own boat, or the pontoon boat for fishing, but you also have the option of booking a charter fishing trip just 1 dock down (Blue Heron Fishing Charter). Let us know if you are interested and we'll help you reserve your trip with the captain next door.
We have a hose for your use, so if you have your own fish cleaning station, bring it and you can hook up to the hose!
Please, let us know if you have any questions! We'll do our best to accommodate special requests!

About the host

Host profile image
Both from the Eastern Upper Peninsula, my husband is an "Islander" born and raised and this is the house he grew up in and his father built!
We truly love the beauty this area has to offer and of course, being on the water is an added bonus!

Why they chose this property

This is our favorite place to be in the summer and that's why we want to share it with others!
We also own the Sugar Suite (2 houses down, #475245), which was built by his grandfather!
To say we will always be connected to the North East side of Sugar Island is a very true statement! :)

What makes this property unique

The Pontoon! WE offer the use of a pontoon boat (not anything fancy, but nonetheless, a boat with a new motor!) with our rentals! It's included in your stay, we just ask that you either pay us for gas, or fill it up before you leave (it will have a full tank when you arrive).
