Private Oceanfront Cottage renovated: New Oceanfront Master BR for 2023 season

The 1948 Periwinkle Cottage underwent a 2021 renovation that turned this oceanfront cottage into a gem! We have now in 2023 added a new Master bedroom overlooking the ocean with views to die for! We also built a much larger screened in porch and larger outdoor decks. The three bedroom and loft cottage has a living room and dining room overlooking the ocean. The open deck has been expanded to a large wraparound deck with seating and dining areas. The screened in porch remains for enjoying the outdoors after dark or during the day. The cottage has added a washer and dryer, new kitchen and bathroom and ship lap on the walls to add to your experience! CHECK OUT THE AMAZING DRONE VIDEOS FROM ABOVE, INSIDE AND OUTSIDE THE PERIWINKLE COTTAGE. You will find this in the photos section where you go to camera setting on mobile phone and scan to watch. The Periwinkle Cottage is a charming cottage in the woods with a lovely ocean view. The Periwinkle Cottage is tucked in the woods above a cove one mile south of the northern tip of Campobello Island and within walking distance of the beautiful East Quoddy Head Harbour Lighthouse and the Head Harbour wharf where working fishing boats dock and Whale Watch Tours take on passengers. The East Quoddy Head Lighthouse is one of the most photographed in the world . At low tide you can walk on the ocean floor to go over to the island the lighthouse sits. The Periwinkle Cottage has an expansive deck for bird and whale watching and a lovely view of the Pasamaquoddy Bay. Enjoy dining alfresco with eagles and ospreys flying overhead and the sounds of whales feeding in the cove below. Easy, close-up views of whales are frequent in the summer and early fall. This is a private and charming retreat surrounded by trees and Adirondack chairs on the cliff overlooking the water with firepit. Read all the reviews! Our guests love it! Other than the fact that the coffee maker took two hours to make a pot everything was great. Location was perfect for going to the light house at low tide. Beds were comfortable and the view from the master was amazing.

Perfect Getaway!

We loved our stay at Periwinkle. It was super cute and the view was amazing. We sat on the porch watching the eagles for hours! The screened porch was lovely and a great spot to work a puzzle. Dennis was super helpful and friendly. We are looking forward to our return visit.

Cottage is rustic and cozy. It was equipped with everything we needed, and then some. The location is great; close to the lighthouse and restaurants. The property is very quiet and relaxing. We loved the screened in porch and the view. Periwinkle cottage is a great place to go to “get away from it all”. We only wish we could have stayed longer.

Spent five days here. The cabin is small but cozy and is clean. The best part is the screen in porch and the deck off that. I really enjoyed sitting at the waters edge looking for whales. 144 whale sightings in the five days I was there. I looked for whales every morning for four hours and five hours in afternoon into evening. Such a relaxing place to stay. I will definitely come back

Perfect Getaway

The Oceanfront Cottage on Campobello Island is a perfect getaway: Nicely private with neighbors tucked away behind trees and shrubs, it’s located a short drive from Campobello museum and lighthouse and several restaurants. The house absolutely delightful! The deck, garden fire pit, and master bedroom all have a stunning view of the Bay of Fundy. The kitchen is well-equipped. NOTE: bring your groceries because the only store we could find had extremely sparse offerings.

Campobello at its finest.

We loved our stay at Periwinkle cottage on Campobello. It was just the two of us and it is quaint and charming and well supplied. The weather didn't cooperate with our stay but that didn't matter. The cottage is right down the street from the Lighthouse and close to The Pier Restaurant which is great. If you want to try out Campobello, give this cottage a try.

We first came to Campobello Island in 1988 and started renting to visitors in 1989. We are from Evansville, Indiana and came the first year with an infant and a 3 year old. We own four of these cottages on Lighthouse Road overlooking the ocean. What makes our cottages unique is they were all privately owned cottage residences until we purchased them. They are on there own properties and are private from one another. The cottages are not right next to each other with no privacy. Read the reviews!
