The private beach features good swimming for children, fishing, a pier and floating raft, beachside fire pit and picnic tables, hammocks, canoe, 2 kayaks, and a row boat. Plenty of beach toys and life jackets can be found inside boat house. 
Garage has a pool/ping pong table, foosball table, and a small air hockey table.
Bring your bikes and ride the 40 mile newly surfaced Kal-Haven bike trail just minutes away.
We are only 15 minutes from the tourist town of South Haven with beaches on Lake Michigan and many shops and restaurants.
Nestled among the oak and beech trees, this 5 bedroom, 3 full bathroom sleeps 12 (plus some mattresses for additional floor sleeping).  Bright open floor plan and large living room with wood burning fireplace comfortably hosts large groups. Off the living room is a cozy library area which provides for intimate conversation. Dining room table seats 12 and next to the dining room is a screened porch with picnic table.

Spacious updated kitchen has microwave, dishwasher, and full range of appliances and place settings.

Very clean and cute home. The kids had a blast on the canoe and kayaks. Grill was a bit outdated so we opted to use the wonderful kitchen instead. Very close to South Haven.

We had 2 families (4 adults & 6 kids) for a long weekend. Everyone loved the house!! Plenty of space, indoors and outdoors, for all to keep occupied. The kids loved the beach and all of the outdoor activities. The house was very clean and stocked with everything we could have asked for. I would definitely recommend the rental to others and would stay with my family again. Great location too!! So much fun so close the house.

Great weekend family retreat

Great place to get together with a large group. My family and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay for the weekend. Lots of activities to do including games, bonfires, kayaking, etc. Beautiful view of the lake. Peaceful and serene. Property owners were excellent and a dream to deal with.

Lovely, peaceful retreat!

It is as lovely as it looks in the pictures--spacious and in excellent condition. The lake is beautiful, swimmable even for little kids, and it's an easy drive to Lake Michigan for a daytrip too.

Excellent getaway for large family

It was wonderful to be in a quiet place away from town, yet close enough to visit nearby towns for shopping and the beach. Loved that there was so much to do inside the home with games and toys for children, as well as fire pit and water activities. Nobody was bored for one second! Incredibly relaxing, very kind neighbors.

Exceeded all expectations

We loved our stay over the long holiday weekend. The listing description doesn't even fully express the thoughtfulness the owners put into this property. They have literally thought of everything! Plenty of room for everyone (we had 7 adults) Loved the kayaks and enjoyed the breeze off the lake while lounging in the (3) hammocks. Location is perfect. Close to Saugatuck, South Haven, Van Buren Rec Area, horseback riding and so much more. If you get a chance try Frida's Cantina on 43 - delicious food and spirits. Can't wait to stay again in the future!

Great Vacation Spot for Grandkids!

We took our kids and grandkids to the Beech Tree Retreat; 6 adults and 5 children (ages 10 months - 14 years). It was perfect for our group. The kids spent hours playing in the sand and the water, and the older kids explored the lake with the kayaks and the canoe. Much of the sandy beach area is shaded, so we didn't have to worry about sunscreen as much as usual when we're at the beach. We had bonfires and s'mores nearly every night, and it was great having lots of firewood available. The adults and teens also enjoyed the hot tub every evening. On rainy days, the pool table, ping pong table, air hockey, and many games kept the kids entertained. The house is great, with lots of seating and enough table space for all of us to eat together. The kitchen is well stocked with all the cooking utensils, plates, silverware, and pots & pans you need to cook full family meals. The large washer and two dryers were great, as the kids played in the lake and then came inside to change multiple times each day. We all agreed we would love to come back to this house in the future. We highly recommend it!

Serenity and seclusion

Beautiful home and lakefront site. Nature and comfort for relaxation, fun, and appreciation for all of God's creation. My family enjoyed the lake, boats, fishing, hiking, bike trails and each other's company.

Kick back and relax

Beechtree house was exactly what my family was looking for. We had kids ages 1.5-17, and plenty of space for all to hang out, eat, and sleep. The best part was the lake access with all the supplies to have a good time (canoe, kayak, life jackets, fishing poles) plus a fire pit and chairs. The house feels loved and loved in in the best way possible, with games, books, puzzles galore. We were close enough to Lake Michigan but felt like we had our own private slice of paradise. We highly recommend!

Perfect family get away

It was another absolutely wonderful stay at this beautiful home. Plenty of space for 10 adults and 3 small kids. the property is absolutely beautiful and big enough for all of us to have room and enjoy fishing and hanging out down by the lake. Bonfires at night with lots of smores and wonderful family stories. Communication with Martha and Gaius was timely and very thorough. if you are looking for a perfect family get away this is the place to book.

Relaxing

The house is perfect for a large family, everything you could need was available. The property is nice, the beach could use more sand and cleaned up as far as the landscaping goes, but overall we enjoyed our stay! Our children fished and played in the water all day everyday and had a great time! Will definitely recommend for large groups!

Quiet place on the lake

The property was very clean and the views were gorgeous. Kitchen was stocked well and there was plenty of space to eat. Very quiet area which was nice. There were kayaks and canoes, etc to use which was a fun bonus, although we didn’t end up having time to utilize them. Lots of beds available, which was also nice. Overall a nice, quiet, clean place to stay. Owners were responsive to questions and had things labeled very nicely.

Perfect family getaway

The property was excellent: comfortable with all of the amenities we needed. We were 3 adults, one teenager, and two children, and we had excess space. The property is gorgeous, much of the back yard well-shaded even midday. The fishing on the lake was fantastic, and the foosball and ping pong table kept us occupied when we weren't at the lake. It's about 20 minutes to South Haven, which is just close/far enough. The neighbors are very friendly and kind. We didn't lack for anything. Hosts were responsive and helpful. Will definitely consider staying here again when we are back in the area.

Perfect Lake Weekend

We had a great weekend and enjoyed the lake and everything the house had to offer. The house had everything we needed and our kids enjoyed the toy trunk and all the books! We have used our home as a retreat place for many of our friends for over 20 years so it is well equipped to handle large groups. We live in Chicago, but our good friend, the contractor who built the house, lives nearby and is available to handle any emergencies.

What makes this property unique

Turning into the driveway on our first visit to the property in 1979, a sense of peace settled on us as we drove through the long row of trees. By the time we reached the house and saw the peaceful lake, we knew this was the "retreat house" we had dreamed of for ourselves and our friends from our church. We remodeled the house in 1996, adding the "great room" so the house could accommodate large groups. Over the decades, numerous families have used this for family reunions, and there are countless children who consider this their home away from home.
