The Southern Belle Parlor apartment combines historic charm and romantic touches with modern day convenience and amenities. Stay in the heart of Beautiful Downtown Savannah Georgia, just steps away from Monterey Square. Stroll the glorious squares with endless gardens and be just minutes from Forsyth Park, fine dining, several local restaurants, and shopping.

The Southern Belle Parlor apartment is a spacious 1 Bedroom, 1 Bathroom apartment with 1,100 square feet of space in a beautifully updated Savannah townhome. This apartment is on the second level of this historic townhome. It features beautifully refinished hardwood floors with high ceilings, and architectural details throughout. The living area has a sleeper sofa, and a decorative fireplace with a 55" Smart TV mounted above. The spacious kitchen has a dining table that seats 4, granite countertops, and all appliances, including a dishwasher. The bedroom is furnished with a King size bed, and a 42" TV, and has privacy doors leading to the living area. The large bathroom has a custom tiled walk-in shower. The outdoor space includes a spacious deck, perfect for morning coffee or evening cocktails.

The Southern Belle Townhome sits on East Taylor Street within a block to Bull Street on Monterey Square. This square's main attraction is perhaps one of the most famous houses in Savannah, the Mercer-Williams House. This home was originally built in 1860 and was finished in 1868. The home was made famous in the 1994 book "The Garden of Good and Evil" which was later turned into a movie, is based on real-life events and people who lived the Mercer Williams House. Just across the square from Mercer House sits Congregation Mickve Israel, one of the few neo-Gothic style synagogues in the United States. The Synagogue was erected in the 1870s and is home to the third-oldest Jewish congregation in America. Both Mercer-Williams House and Mickve Israel offer tours of these beautifully restored buildings.

Parking information: Parking for this home is on-street and metered Monday to Friday, 8 am to 5 pm. Guests are encouraged to either purchase a pre-paid parking pass from the Savannah Visitor Center or park on a nearby non-metered street. Neighborhood street parking spaces have a 2-hour time limit on Taylor Street nearest to the townhome.

Guests will also be located only a short 20-25 minute drive to Tybee Island, Savannah's beach. Come out for a day trip to enjoy the beach, fishing, visiting Ft. Pulaski, or climbing Georgia's oldest and tallest lighthouse.

5 day stay.
The property itself is in a very good location. Everything is in walking distance. I would give it 5 starts overall but have a couple complaints that are not too huge to some but were bothersome to us. The fan makes a loud knocking noise. The fan also does not go on the high setting only medium. The shower is extremely slippery and I myself almost fell multiple times. Also, you pay a good amount for a cleaning fee but part of the check out instructions say to start the dishwasher and take out the trash… Other then these things the property is very nice and the bed is very comfortable.

Perfect Location
My husband and I really enjoyed our stay. The place was as pictured. It was walking distance to everything. The neighborhood was quiet. The only complaints we have is the door knob to the door for the apartment was broken and the pocket doors are not easy to open or close. Suggestion for the rental company. I would offer black wash clothes for when you wash the makeup off your face. They won't be ruined or stained.

We loved having the extra space that a hotel room doesn’t provide. The apartment was on a quiet street and access was super easy. It was clean and had everything we needed. It was a modest walk to the areas we wanted to explore.

SCAD visit
Overall the property met expectations. The location to the historic district and entertainment was great. close to Forsythe Park, SCAD buildings and had plenty of excellent restaurants and shops. The property was well-kept and clean, matching the pictures advertised. There were a few issues that prevent me from rating 5 stars, as follows: the kitchen wall near the pantry had obvious mold growing up about 3/4 of a section of the interior wall bordering the pantry. The bedding was very worn with pillow shams and comforter smelling as they had not been washed in some time. I washed them myself. All pillows were completely flat, thus not comfortable. The mattress was comfortable. The only other issue is with parking on these streets as there were times over the weekend that I had to park many blocks from the property and walk back in the dark. I understand this is a general historic district issue in Savannah, so it certainly is not caused by this vacation rental company. An idea to solve this problem would the rental companies paying for 1 space for units leased with a reserved spaces per unit at a flat daily rate. Monitoring parking times every 2 hours was frustrating and I even was ticketed because I missed a deadline. I probably would not rent a car again here unless the parking problem is solved. Cannot imaging what it would be like in prime season. !
