Fabulous 2 Bed, 2 Bath Cottage On Kangaroo Lake

Carraigeen Cottage is a new 2 bedroom, 2 bathroom cottage right on the shores of beautiful Kangaroo Lake. It has a fully equipped modern kitchen with granite countertops, new stainless steel appliances, including a full sized dishwasher, full stove, large refrigerator, and new washer / dryer. It has 4 queen pillow top beds perfect for 1-2 families or a group of friends. Outside there is a BBQ and picnic style tables. There are several chairs. We have a spot for a boat at the dock. You are welcome to bring your own boat. You can launch it at the Baileys Harbor boat launch on Kangaroo Lake Road. There is a $10 launch fee and it is on the honor system. The collection box is at the launch. Children will love paddling and swimming in the warm waters of Kangaroo Lake. This is a great location for fishing, biking, hiking and canoeing and close to all the downtown amenities of Baileys Harbor and Egg Harbor – Shops, restaurants, galleries, cafes and the marina and beach are only a few minutes away. Get ready for some gorgeous sunsets! Carraigeen is all of the above, and more, but I would just like to make sure that you are aware that the cottage is 700sq foot. It does have a capacity for 8 people but it would not be suitable for 8 adults.

This was the perfect place for our family of 5! It’s beautiful and clean on the inside, and it doesn’t get better than being right on kangaroo lake with access to swimming, kayaking and paddle boarding! It was quiet but, a great location and easy to access. I’ve stayed in several places in door county and this was definitely my favorite! The hosts are gracious and kind, I would definitely recommend it, and hope to come back soon!

We loved that the cabin was right on the water. The paddle board and kayaks were a huge hit as was the nearness of the causeway for fishing. Very peaceful and relaxing. The host was easily accessible and very kind and informative.

The house which is on the small size makes, up for this in its location! On the shore of Kangaroo Lake, which is about 50 feet from the front door, the setting is serene and peaceful. About 5 minutes from Bailey's Harbor, it truly is beautiful! A great location to launch exploring of Door County. Martina is a wonderful host who made sure our stay was welcoming and our every need met! We are already planning our next stay here!

Perfect Getaway

We had a fantastic time staying at this Lakefront home the location was exactly what we were looking for and the lake was so beautiful to kayak on and so clear! Great restaurant within walking distance and perfectly located from all of the parks hiking trails around Door County. Martina was so helpful and attentive to our needs from the time we booked throughout the whole trip making sure we had everything at the house from kayaks life jackets firewood and a very clean house to stay in. Service was top notch period! We will be looking to stay at one of their properties again on our next trip!!

Nice place, better for the summer months

This is a nice, secluded place. It seems great for summer months, particularly if you have a boat. It does seem overpriced for this time of year, especially because no linens were provided (which surprised us). That was a hassle, to make and unmake beds, and there weren't towels etc. A hotel would cost less and provide better amenities. But we had a good time in this quiet getaway. Just something to note.

Charming & Cozy Kangaroo Cottage

Perfect little lake cottage with many cute touches to make your stay comfortable. Serene and quiet setting even with the causeway nearby. Loved having our kayak right outside our door for early a.m., afternoon and sunset paddles, and enjoyed wine and cheese on the pier at sunset too! Martina was a great hostess, communicating everything necessary to make for a relaxing stay.

Cozy Cottage on the Lake

We had the most wonderful stay at this cozy cottage on Kangaroo Lake. My husband, our six year old son, eight year old daughter and I were looking for a quiet family vacation away from the craziness of 2020. This was it! The home was small, nicely decorated, very well equipped, steps from the lake, peaceful and had the most perfect sunset views. The location in Baileys Harbor allowed easy access for us to explore all of Door County. Unlike so many other vacation rentals, Martina was amazing to work with and made our stay even more enjoyable. Her communication and recommendations were top notch and she went above and beyond to make our vacation special. We look forward to renting from her again on our next trip to Door County.

What a beautiful cottage!

My family and I had an amazing time staying at this magical cottage for our week getaway. Martina was so great and easy to communicate with. The cottage was clean and charming. Nothing was better than being on the lake and being able to walk out the back door to the lake. We would definitely like to go back again and stay at the same cottage!

Kangaroo Lake Cottage

We had a wonderful stay at the cottage! The cottage itself was very clean and up to date and was the perfect size for my family of 4. The lake was so beautiful and calm. It’s perfect for kayaking, paddle boarding, swimming and fishing. The location was very ideal and close to lots of biking and hiking areas and restaurants. We would love to come back and stay longer!

Superb Spotless Getaway Home

This was the cleanest VRBO I've ever stayed in - there was not a speck of dirt anywhere and nothing was out of place, which was wonderful! It's a super cute little house that was perfect for our weekend stay in Door County. Also, it had the most dishes, pots & pans, etc in any house, condo, etc that I've stayed in, which is a major plus! (I had brought some of my own because typically there isn't much!) The only tips I would share are to remember to bring kitchen wash clothes, dish soap and towels. We knew to bring our own bedding and bath towels, but I missed the part where it said kitchen too - though it was stated in the check in info! AND make sure to bring your own coffee too -sometimes there's a canister left on site, but not in this case - again, not a big deal, just not something I thought of ahead of time. Overall, this was a perfect place!

I started renting my first home, Carraig Mor, about 15 years ago. It was not your normal Door County Cottage, it was my home and was rented as such. Travelers really appreciated having the comforts of home away from home. I have since added four more properties. I have only recently started using Airbnb but I have been in business before them, and offering beautiful properties for rent long before it was fashionable. I have hundreds of five star reviews. Carraigeen Cottage is a modern cottage less than 15 feet from the water. It has a beautiful dock on the east side of the lake that will allow to t relax and enjoy beautiful sunsets. The dock can also accommodate your boat and/or jet skis.
