Portage Lake Contemporary Cabin
Lovely cedar home, on the water with permanent wooden pier. Sauna, canoe and hammock garden. Friendly to families, work crews and tourists.
SPRING
Book early for MTU graduation!
SUMMER
Enjoy the dock, wood fired sauna, and campfires on the shore. You can dock most boats on site. The launch is 1.5 miles away. Yard games and hammocks. Inside games and a library for rainy days.
FALL
Perfect for fall color tourists, and MTU guests . Paddle directly across to the Sturgeon River Sloughs for fall water fowl hunting. Or stay inside by the two story sandstone fireplace. The view from the windows overlooking the lake will show stunning fall color changes.
WINTER
Perfect for holiday company overflow, snowmobilers, skiers and those simply wanting to rest away from it all. Enjoy some of the best rates around in the “off season.”
Near White City Beach, Denali Restaurant and historic Jacobsville Church. 30 minutes to Houghton and its restaurants and trails. Less than one hour to Copper Harbor and its world class riding.
This house fills quickly for career fair and graduation weekend. I am happy to facilitate a “house share” for small groups on these high volume days when the county sells out of rooms.
