About this property
On Vallecito Lake in beautiful San Juan County at 7700 ft altidude
You're only 20 feet from the shoreline! It just doesn't get any better. This ideal four season getaway is an easy walk to the marina and boat launch. The new outer deck has been finished after a complete renovation of the kitchen. The large granite tabletop seats 6. If you'd rather do your cooking outdoors there is a Blackstone griddle and Weber BBQ under a covered portion of the deck. Both bedrooms are beautifully furnished with queen bed in master, bunk bed in second bedroom and sofa bed in front of the fireplace. Lots of seating in the Great Room. Bring your boat for marina mooring or rent your favorite watercraft at the marina. Thanks to our home being built partially underground, no air conditioner is necessary, as the property naturally maintains a very comfortable temperature from the lake breezes. Please note: Vallecito Lake is an alpine lake fed by the spring run off from snow pack in our local mountains. We often see the lake fill to capacity in the spring and in summer water levels will vary with irrigation use in the lower valleys and summer showers. Summer water temperatures are in the high sixties and ice fishing is very popular in the winter months. Hiking and cross country skiing is popular all around the lake area and nearby streams. Our property is vacant for much of the off season and we use two security cameras to monitor activity. One camera is above the basement door and guests do not have access to this maintenance area; a camera also covers the rear carport area where the owner's boat is stored; There are no interior cameras and the motion activated exterior cameras are for the guest and host's protection. We added in 2024, a 43" flat screen TV in the master bedroom, a new front porch and a new metal roof.

Hosts were great to be sure we were comfortable. The home and location are just what we needed for a fall get away. We read books, took hikes, watched ducks on lake while drinking our coffee. The deck is wonderful and would go there again. Great for fishing, hiking, relaxing and family time
We had an amazing stay here. The house has every amenity that you could possibly need. Everything worked perfect, and we some amazing meals in the well appointed new kitchen with an incredible view of the lake. We could watch the kids play in the lake just a few steps from the deck. We will be back, Thank you for the awesome memories.

Lake house
Really nice area to stay. The deck is a good spot to relax on. The house is okay. Needs a fan in the master bedroom upstairs, it did get warm up there. Parking is very limited. You’ll do good to get two small cars parked. Overall we had a good time. Weminuche Woodfire Grill has good food.
Fantastic location steps to lake. House is rustic but clean. Kitchen is good size, all appliances are in great shape. Beds are comfortable, bathrooms clean and lots of hot water for all. Ron was helpful in pointing out specifics about the house when we checked in. Very friendly and responsive to questions. No AC was not an issue. Opening the windows created good airflow. Hot tub had fresh water and felt great in the cool evening. Property was exactly as advertised. Will look to cone back again.
Such a great home to relax and reflect upon the adventures of the day. Great location for easy access to some.of the most amazing lanscapes in the four corners area.
Excellent experience overall
We had such a great time on the deck and on the lake. The view of the lake and mountains are spectacular day and night! Location is close to plenty of day excursions. Caught trout right in front of the house.
We really enjoyed our stay here. You can't beat being right on the water in this beautiful cabin. The kitchen has great appliances for cooking for the whole family. We would definitely come back!
Ron has a amazing place to stay at. It's a beautiful place to relax on Ron's wonderful deck and enjoy the unbelievable view of the gorgeous lake and majestic mountains.
Just steps from the lake to go paddle boarding which was great. Owners are thorough during check in and reviewing rules, which keeps their home in good shape. Enjoyed our stay! As always in Colorado, watch those afternoon thunderstorms and try to get on the water early in the morning.
Clean and comfortable. Kitchen is freshly remodeled, beautiful and fully stocked. Blackstone is a nice touch. House decor is a bit dated but it didn’t matter. The view from the deck makes up for it. Owner/manager is very helpful and detailed in his explanation of everything. We had a great time exploring the area.
Had a wonderful stay! The Lake house Has incredible views and Is about a 30 seconds walk to the edge of the lake. We brought our own kayaks but you could also rent Ron’s boat or other water crafts from the marina a short walk from the house. The Country market is about a five minute drive and had a great selection. Even birthday candles that I forgot to bring along. Phew! Ron is such a kind person and we hope to make this trip an annual tradition.
The location of the house on the lake was perfect. The view from the newly constructed deck was absolutely amazing!! The owner of the property was very nice and accommodating. Also, the kitchen had been recently remodeled & updated. My only complaint is that there was no air conditioning; which I thought was listed in the amenities. It was an exceptionally hot summer for Colorado 2019 and a.c. would have been really nice.
Not worth the trouble. Move on to the next listing.

Retired and loving life. Just having a good time fixing up a place and sharing it with vacationers.
Why they chose this property
Love the water and serenity of this lake. We camped across the lake many times before buying a pontoon boat and a home on this lake. The lake is still quite serene and the barn swallows come every spring to roost under the eaves of the house. Osprey glide in the sky around us looking for that next meal on the water surface and nest high in the trees around us.
What makes this property unique
We get to stay here when you're not here and always looking ahead to the next improvement. Cooking outside is great here.
