Great little house for a couple. Easy access to down town
Loved it. No need to do a key pick up if no key is involved. Text or email the code.

Just terrible.
It was cramped, awkward, dirty, and in need of some repairs. The shower is tiny and the shower head was miserable. The blue shag carpet is gross and smelly. The mattress is old and uncomfortable. The middle room should not be considered a bedroom as there is no privacy. Under the deck there is an old sink and leftover construction materials that were not suitable for our pets to be near. The entire thing felt like someone's DIY project rather than a professional, expensive, vacation rental. It was so awful we left a night early and will never return. Keep looking. There are other, lovely places to stay in Southport for less money.
loved the location of property, fell in love with the area, property was in a very quiet and safe area, neighbors were friendly loved the whole experience..
I cannot say how much we enjoyed our stay at the Candy Store House! Everything was just perfect and we hated to leave. The bed was so comfortable, the bathrooms nice and the kitchen well stocked. We were so comfortable and will look forward to coming back.
We couldn’t have asked for more for our quickly planned two-week reprieve from the northern snow and ice. Southport is beautiful in late March-early April with so many azaleas and other flowering bushes in full bloom. The Candy Store House rental was perfect for my husband and me and our dog. We were two blocks from the water and just a few blocks from shops and restaurants. We walked everywhere. Southport is a very sweet friendly town for people AND dogs of all ages. E spoke with so many genuinely nice people. Highly recommend this rental
In this exceptional place.
Loved my stay here. Great neighborhood two blocks to the water and downtown. The house was comfy with a huge kitchen, fireplace, and fun details. Only minor whine is that it could use some sharper knives in the kitchen. Would definitely stay here again and would wholeheartedly recommend.
Our first trip to Southport and our stay at the Candy Store house was simply delightful. The home is warm, inviting and very clean. The neighborhood is very friendly, safe and everyone we met on the block was helpful and lovely to chat with, and Southport folks like to chat, we loved that. We had plenty of space for the two of us and our goldendoodle pup. The kitchen was kitted out beautifully and while we had no use for tv - there was no direction to how to use it, which would have been helpful for the husband to see news, but the WiFi was excellent and we were connected to the world digitally just fine. The town is beyond quaint with its shops, restaurants and most of all sweet people. Almost everything was dog friendly, and quite affordable for a vacation spot. A huge shout out to Oliver’s, Fishy Fishy and Ivan’s for welcoming our pup with open arms. We absolutely fell in love with everything Southport and the Candy Store, and can’t wait to return.
Fun place to stay! Could walk to everything and eat at restaurants or cook in the great kitchen. Could let our dog out the door to run around in the fenced yard. It is great to have a bath and a half in a one bedroom cottage. We loved watching the renovation YouTubes. Quiet, yet close to center of town. A very unique place!
The Candy Store house was quaint and knowing its history, it made even more special. It was the perfect size for my husband and the location was perfect with everything being within walking distance.
The home had all of the amenities we needed and then some. Thank you for a wonderful stay.
