Overall ....Great. 1st time on Oak Island. I'll be back. House is nothing fancy but that's what ye
I only have a few complaints.
1. In the front bedroom, there are hooks screwed in sill ,to hold the curtains back. But the end is sharpened like a fish hook. I impaled my finger.
2. Many of the wall outlets are old and don't securely hold in plugs. AND the one on the wall ,between the kitchen is so bad that it's starting to burn plastic .....ITS A FIRE HAZARD.
3. Mattress in front bedroom is lousy.
This was a simple, clean ranch home situated surprisingly close to the beach and pier.
Pros
Close to beach
Clean home
Having the master bedroom on one end and the kids bedrooms on the other, made for peaceful nights.
3 kids and 2 adults all showered one after another and never ran out of hot water.
Plenty of cooking utensils available for use.
Kids bathroom was spacious and had an awesome paint job!
Areas of improvement
The washer/dryer need replaced. Both required 2 cycles to clean and dry the clothes properly
Dish washer top rack needs replaced.
The master bathroom is sooo tiny.
The one thing we disliked the most, by far is all the required documents we needed to sign and extra fees we had to pay just to rent the house. I'm pretty sure I filled out less paperwork when buying my house. I feel like everyday after booking I was getting more emails requiring more signatures and extra insurance policies I was forced to purchase. Ridiculous COVID-19 releases and a total release of liability from absolutely everything.
Overall, we were happy staying there and would consider they same place again.
