This home is 3rd row - set on a quiet neighborhood street and only steps to the beautiful ocean. Come see the quiet and calm life of Oak Island!

Near by is the walkway across the inter coastal waterway. Also located close to the pier. 1.5 miles to Middleton park and the town park/splash pad. A short drive from Southport with many cute shops and charming eateries.

This home has 3 bedrooms, 2 full bathrooms. It can comfortably sleep 2 small families.

As you enter the property, the front door opens into an open area with the living room, kitchen, and dining room all in one large space. To the right you’ll find the bedrooms. The back of the house has a deck that is perfect for sharing a cold drink after a long day at the beach.

The front of the house has an outdoor shower for getting the sand off your toes - or a full blown shower as it has a hot water line.

We are thrilled to share our little piece of heaven with you!

PS. The name of our home is from the country music song by Dierks Bentley - our oldest daughters favorite song and her first ever concert. She is so proud to have this cute little beach cottage named after one of our favorite family memories!!

Back to Oak Island

Our family gathered at Oak Island for many years, but we stopped after our aunt passed away and her cottage was sold. Imagine our surprise to find the same house on VRBO. We spent two weeks there with several family members visiting during that time. What a wonderful vacation! Laura was a gracious and responsive host. It's great to know the old place is in the hands of new owners committed to making it the site of happy memories for years to come.

Cute and clean!

We had a wonderful time on our beach vacation! The house was cute, clean and a short, easy walk to the beach. It was a perfect home for our four kids with multiple sleeping arrangements for all ages. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay! The ease of communication with Laura was incredibe. Highly recommend this host and this home.

Girls getaway success

The property was older as the description had indicated. The sitting area, kitchen, bedrooms, and bathrooms were very clean. You could hear the ocean on the back porch, which was relaxing. We enjoyed our stay. I communicated with the owner and she was very quick to respond.

The positive thing about this property was proximity to the beach everything else was not as it appeared. The smell hit us right away as we walked in getting past that we noticed it wasn't very cool as the hvac was struggling to keep up i dont know that it ever got below about 76-78 in the house . As we looked around we quickly noticed it wasnt that clean, the floors couch, stove all had issues, we picked up grapes from under the chase. Now understandably everyone lives differently and we weren’t bothered by the home being a little older but not clean is just not clean especially when your paying for it to be clean. As for the downstairs we were greeted with more smell worse than the upstairs accompanied by what appeared to be mold at the ac vents and up the bathroom wall and in the laundry room area. The host responded quickly and the next day someone came by and set up 2 ozone machines but at this point we were not going to use the downstairs and one guest just slept on the couch . The ozone machines make a pretty rough odor so when we returned we ended up outside for about an hour while we let the house air out by mid week we finally got comfortable enough to enjoy the rest of our stay. If you stay here dont plan on using the grill , outdoor space, or the downstairs unless the issues are addressed. also no hoses working outside to clean your feet . It seems to me the health hazards should be addressed before this place is rented more especially at these costs

I might have read it wrong but i was alittle disappointed with the air for the downstairs area. The air conditioning was not working. And the window units did not work all the time. The owners were wonderful to work with and the place was very clean and the location was fantastic

We stayed here for a quick weekend visit for a family baby shower and the only plus of this house was being so close to the beach also the price was right but the house itself was not so great. A list of things that need to be addressed. No porch light - did not work The kitchen table was absolutely sticky after throughly scrubbing three times. The floors made my 2.5 year old son’s feet black because they were so dirty. The amount of dust and cobwebs in the lights and ceiling is ridiculous. The windows were either not able to be opened because of no screens or they did not stay up, the one window actually slammed on my knuckles to the point I have a bruise. The kitchen rug by the sink smelled absolutely disgusting. The shower curtain in the bathroom was all moldy and mildew just, the floor of the tub had an all film over it to the point my mom slipped when getting in. The bottom floor of the house, we couldn’t even utilize because of the god awful smell and dampness down there it literally took your breath away. There wasn’t enough towels or wash clothes provided for the amount of guest in the house. The pictures were very deceiving, we are very disappointing especially when we have to pay for a cleaning fee. We left the house cleaner than when we enter.

The host was very responsive. She also allowed us to check in 2 hours earlier than advertised which we really appreciated. When we got to the property, it was very dirty and had a strong scent of mothballs throughout the entire house. The floors looked like they had not been swept, and the couches were covered in crumbs. We also moved the area rug in the living area as it had a lot of sandspurs that were imbedded into it that were painful to step on. When we moved the rug, it looked like it had not been swept under in months. We were only staying two nights, so this wasnt the end of the world for us, but I didnt expect to clean the entire property upon arrival. We also were not able to utilize the entire bottom floor, due to there not being heat down there so we were down a bedroom. It was below freezing temps the weekend we were there so that area was entirely too cold to be in. The house itself is very outdated. There were electrical wires hanging from the ceiling in the living area. Blue painters tape was attempting to hold curtains shut and secure runners to the floor which did not work. I would have liked the property to be cleaner for the price paid, especially in the off season.

For the price, you pay for what you get here. The location was wonderful and the quiet street was lovely. We enjoyed the private shower under the porch. The host is kind and responsive. The basement wasn’t connected to the main living area of the home so we could not have the kids use it, and it was a little musty like some other reviews have said. The sheets and furniture were clean but the main dining table was very sticky, even after cleaning it. Overall a good stay in OKI.
