Lazy Palm Cottage is back and better than ever for 2026, welcoming guests for the first time since the storms of 2024. Completely remodeled, this charming 1930s beach cottage sits just one house in from the beach — no roads to cross, just an easy stroll to the sand. Enjoy warm days, beautiful beaches, and a relaxed pace on an island that still captures the spirit of old Florida. It truly doesn’t get much better than this.
With three bedrooms and two bathrooms, this charming home is deceptively spacious and comfortably accommodates one or two families. Multiple living areas provide plenty of room to unwind — whether you’re watching TV, curling up with a good book, or enjoying games together.
As you step inside, you’ll find a bright open living area with steps leading down to a lower family room that opens directly onto the private heated pool. The family room is equipped with a 55" flat-screen SMART TV.

The fully equipped kitchen overlooks the dining area and features two separate workspaces with dual sinks and granite countertops. Appliances include a microwave, dishwasher, stove, and garbage disposal, as well as both a drip coffee maker and Keurig, blender, toaster, and hand mixer.

The second bedroom offers a queen-size bed, two closets, and a SMART TV. The garden-facing primary bedroom features a king-size bed and double closet, while the third bedroom includes twin bunk beds and a SMART TV. Two bathrooms are provided — one with a walk-in shower and the other with a shower/tub combination. Fresh linens, bath towels, and beach towels are provided for your stay, and a large laundry room with washer and dryer is available for your convenience.

Step outside from the family room into your own tropical oasis, where a free-form saltwater pool awaits — the perfect place to relax on a chaise lounge. A spacious covered seating area with a comfortable sectional sofa invites you to linger with an ice-cold drink or a good book. A gas grill, outdoor shower, and beach cart for your gear complete this private retreat.

The pool is heated during the winter months; however, during occasional cold spells when temperatures drop into the 50s or 60s, the heater may temporarily shut down as a safety feature, and the water temperature may be cooler.

Parking is available for up to three vehicles.

Check-in is at 4:00 pm and check-out is at 10:00 am. Early check-in or late check-out cannot usually be accommodated, so please plan accordingly.

Holmes Beach has a 7-night minimum stay requirement.

Amazing home away from home

Wonderful quaint cottage.

We loved Lazy Palm Cottage. It's in a wonderful location, steps to the beach, but close enough to walk to shops and restaurants. The cottage is a little quirky with its different levels but perfect for grandma on one side and the kids on the other. Our favorite thing was the awesome back yard with plenty of seating and the best pool we have ever had on the island! Nicky was great to deal with and I highly recommend this property.

Great place to stay on AMI !

I highly recommend staying in this cottage. So much nicer than staying in a standard beach condo. This cottage has so much character! Lots of space for a family. Location is one house away from an amazing uncrowded beach. Furnishings and amenities were wonderful! The backyard pool and patio area were the icing on the cake. The property owner is attentive to any questions and a very kind person. We would definitely stay here again!

Paradise!!

Not sure where to even begin! This property was flat out amazing!! It was everything and more than we expected. The location couldn’t have been better. The pool was super nice and kept up as it was cleaned multiple times per week. We can’t wait to rebook this property again!!

Best location

Perfect location to enjoy the whole island. No car necessary. Easy trolley system. The cottage is clean and just perfect for 2 couples. The bedrooms are on opposite sides of the cottage. The oasis in the backyard was always too shady and we couldn’t enjoy the sun as much as we would have liked. We would definitely recommend this cottage to anyone.

Wow

3 minute walk from the door to the sand. Beach was amazing. House was updated and clean. Ranch Style spread out with full Landry room, Pool seating area. This Beach House would be wonderful for couples. Pretty backyard with the pool. Walgreens and cupcake shop 2 blocks away. What can I say... I'm in Love The host was Great and easy fast response. We Will be back soon.

The location is great. Could not use the pool. The water was not warm enough to swim. I contacted the host. She would not turn the heat up . The wood floors need to be refinished. Bathrooms are small.

Perfect Island Living

My family has been coming to Anna Maria Island/Holmes Beach, Florida for 30 years and this place was absolutely wonderful. Bigger than the pictures do justice. Many areas inside and out that were great for togetherness or if you wanted to be alone somewhere. House has everything you would ever need and more. It is extremely close to beach access. The pool was very spacious to fit a big family. Very convenient to all things on the island. Easy to get in and out of as traffic wasn’t busy. Owners were so welcoming and hospitable. We couldn’t have asked for better hosts. They treated us like family and were readily available. This is definitely a place you will want to come back to as I know our family will.

Deceptive property

This property's pictures are deceptive, it's a lot bigger than we thought. From the street you see a quaint cottage. Once you open the front door , that's where the shock of how large the house is. The primary bedroom and bunk bedroom were close to each other on one side of the house. The other bedroom was on the other side of the house, which my mother in law liked for privacy and winding down. The pool and covered patio was a hit for everyone. I think the kids spent more time in the saltwater pool than the beach. Everything about the property and property managers was fantastic and our family really enjoyed our experience.

A wonderful holiday

My husband and I, together with daughter and son-in-law, enjoyed a wonderful holiday staying at Lazy Palm Cottage. The location is AMAZING - just 100 steps from the front door to the beach, five minutes from a good range of shops and the AMI trolley stop. The house was spotlessly clean and well equipped with loads of ‘little extras’ including a drawer full of useful bits such as batteries, elastic bands, sewing equipment, basic tools etc, made it feel a real home from home. The accommodation is deceptively spacious and ideal for 2 couples as the bedrooms/bathrooms are on either side of the house meaning that you are not constantly falling over each other. We loved the outside space and pool as well as the beach trolley, chairs and umbrellas. Nicky responded promptly and helpfully to any communications and the instructions for accessing and leaving the property were timely and clear. We loved our stay, didn’t want to leave and wouldn’t hesitate to return.

Outstanding location & memories ! February 2022.

Nestled in the quite corners on Gulf Drive, this home offered both ample & unique space for 6 adults. It's changing elevations throughout the "wrap around" home is FUN! Cooking meals was a pleasure for the double kitchen set up offered all of us ample room to work around each other. Our kids (adults) made use of various sitting areas both inside and outside, it truly allowed of us to have private spaces, if we desired so. The pool area was welled laid out with a nice new outdoor "L Shaped" couch and an abutting dining table, all under the roof cover, so that a rainy day will not stop you from it's pleasures. The kids loved the 85 degree pool and took a dip every day. The real key is location, location, location. We know AMI quite well and have visited many times but this location is centered in such a way that quick hops are easy to come by. for both points North & South. The real kicker....you are on a quite road, just off the beach, yet 2 blocks over is the shopping center, for ALL your needs. Nicky is a gracious host and help you with any questions you may have about on and off island. Enjoy!......We Did! Michael & Cindy

A Slice of Sunshine Paradise with a Pool in the Shade!

Lazy Palm Cottage was a total win-win: great host, cool amenities, and a seriously awesome pool situation. Okay, let's start with the host, Nicky – a real hospitality champ. I mean, they practically had a PhD in making us feel at home. From extra amenities that made us wonder if they were mind readers to a level of communication that had us convinced they had a hotline straight to Siri, this host was on point. I've never experienced communication at this level, she was incredibly thorough. Now, let's talk about the pool. It's the kind of pool that made us think, "Why can't all pools be this way?" This thing was like a ninja at dodging those blazing Florida rays. Always in the shade, it made our pool time feel like a cool breeze even in the hottest heat. We didn't need to slap on a pound of sunscreen just to take a dip, and that, my friends, is a poolside miracle. All in all, our VRBO getaway was a real gem. If you're seeking a cozy spot where you're treated like a VIP and a pool that defies the laws of sunburn, give this place a shot. Solid five stars from us – this cottage and its shade-savvy pool get a thumbs-up and a nod of appreciation from this sun-soaked traveler! 🌞🏖️🏊‍♂️

Excellent Beach Getaway!

We had a lovely time! The home was clean, bright and had many more “starter” supplies than most homes I have rented. Plenty of beach chairs, toys, etc. provided! Even beach towels, hats, and sunscreen. The beach was a short walk to the public access and the beautiful white sand and aquamarine waters!!! Kitchen well stocked and Nicky was easily reached and handled all questions promptly. Home lay out is terrific with two seating areas, another smaller office/sitting area with a cute desk and three nice bedrooms! The pool and lanai area was private & a lovely place to hang out for a break from the sun or outdoor dinner. Private with lush plants and trees surrounding it. We had a wonderful time swimming, fishing & relaxing! Thank you, Nicky!

Coastal perfection!

We stayed at Lazy Palm cottage for 10 days and it did not disappoint!!! The cottage is meticulously clean from top to bottom! The location can not be beat, you are literally steps around the corner to the beach. Over our 10 days we found other locations on the island to be super crowded and busy, this is not the case for Lazy Palm. The beach is not crowded and of course is stunningly beautiful! Also, the cottage is a great middle point where you can easily ride your bike to the north and south side of the island. Which we took advantage of, as traffic can get really bad coming from the southern end of the island. The house has plenty of room and is conveniently stocked with all the essentials you need for your stay! The owner Nicky is super helpful and responded quickly to any questions we had! Definitely one of the best vacation houses we’ve rented!

Relaxing Week

Lazy Palm Cottage was just what the 4 of us needed for a relaxing week away from the northern chill of winter. We found the place to be exceptionally clean and spacious with its 3 sitting areas. Nice decor and lots of kitchen counter space with well stocked cabinets. The outside heated pool area is great ! Private and comfortable. An easy 3 min. walk to a nice sandy beach. Owner is very accommodating with many amenities provided: We look forward to returning again. Chuck M.

Wonderful Stay

Property had a fantastic location! Wish I could live here. Beds comfortable. Kitchen well stocked with spices and condiments. Pool a perfect 85 degrees F. Light switches all labeled and best of all there was toilet paper! Nicky was an excellent communicator and she greeted us with a note, champagne, and the best key lime/coconut cake I've ever eaten. 200 steps to a semi-private beach with chairs, wagon, and beach items supplied. You can't go wrong with this property!

Nice and Central

We enjoyed our week in this home on AMI tremendously. The home is a bit quirky with its several levels, but it was clean with plenty of room and well supplied. Nicky is a gracious hostess who contacted us early as the unit was cleaned and available. The outside area is beautiful and the beach is close. Traveling south or north on the island is a breeze from this wonderfully central location. We look forward to our next visit.

Dream House

So this review is long overdue and lengthy, but of course life happens when you come back from an amazing vacation. We stayed in this cottage back in May of 2021 and we had 5 adults and 1 child for the duration of our stay. Let me just tell ya, the pictures on this place do not do this house justice!! When you first pull up to the house, of course it looks small from the outside (Duh, it's a cottage), but as soon as you walk through the door, the house seems to just keep going. Everything was super clean and had amenities galore! The couple that manages this house literally thought of everything to offer in order to make our trip perfect and easy. They had beach towels, tons of beach toys, beach chairs, pool toys all in one convenient location out back in a cabinet. There is definitely no need to go out and buy the kids toys to play on the beach, because they literally have everything you need. They even thought of leaving condiments in the fridge as well as an amazing "welcome" cake when we arrived. I could go on and on about this place and their amenities...BUT I will talk about the rooms as well because it is definitely worth mentioning. The rooms were spacious and the beds were comfortable. If we had anything going on with the house while we were staying there, this wonderful couple came to house within the hour and fixed it. They were super easy to get ahold of and extremely personable. I can't say enough about Nicky and her husband honestly. The pool and greenery in the backyard is to die for! They had it prepped and heated on the day of arrival and had someone come out and clean it throughout the week (which was greatly appreciated). The beach access is so close, it's literally like you are almost on the beach. Everything about this house was a dream and we not only will be renting this place again, but recommend it 100%.

Loved Lazy Palm Cottage

The Lazy Palm Cottage was exactly as described. We felt at home, everything we needed was there. The pool was amazing and we all enjoyed it. Short walk to the beach and had toys for the kids, a beach cart, coolers for cold drinks, chairs to sit in and a private shower and hose out by the pool to hose off all the sand. The landscaping makes you think you are in paradise. We had great communication with the owner and she went the extra mile for us in every way. My daughter left some clothes behind accidentally and they are shipping them home to us. I would def stay here again and would highly recommend this place!!
