Waterfront Cottage with a Touch of Luxury in Historic Fenelon Falls

NOTE: Our cottage is fully registered and compliant with the recently implemented short-term rental regulations set forth by the Kawartha municipality. Rest assured, we've exceeded all safety and regulatory requirements to provide you with a worry-free and legal stay. Your comfort and peace of mind are our top priorities, and we're committed to providing a safe and enjoyable experience for all our guests.

Please note that for the last week of June and the first week of September, we are looking to rent only from Saturday to Saturday, weekly rentals only. 5% DISCOUNT ON ALL WEEKLY RENTALS!

Fiber optic Internet Service (+Wifi), Air Conditioning, and Essentials are included with all stays.

The cottage is surrounded by nature and trees with a large open back to play sports or just lounge in the sun, or the front overlooking the water. Just a short walk away (5 minutes) to beautiful Victoria Trail, one of the longest trails in the Kawarthas, which is used year-round for hiking, horseback riding, cycling, snowshoeing, cross-country skiing, ATVing, and snowmobiling.

Water activities: swimming, fishing, boating (dock your boat from the dock), canoeing (included), pedal boat (included), 2 kayaks and two Stand Up Paddle Boards!

The cottage has recently been renovated with 3 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, and a large recently finished basement. Beautiful large windows allow for light to shine through to the living room and the open concept fully stocked kitchen. Central heating and newly installed central air conditioning will allow you to keep comfortable no matter which months you choose to visit.

During the summer months, you can cool off by jumping into the lake or using the newly installed central air conditioning.

The cottage houses 6 people very comfortably with ample parking.

One set of bed sheets and towels is included, as well as regular toiletries.

This is not a professional rental agency, it’s a family renting their home for other families to enjoy. This is our home, and we would like to share it with responsible families looking to escape the busy city life. The property is located near the historic town of Fenelon Falls and is roughly an hour and a half from Toronto/Markham.

About the water/dock area:
The water is deep right off the dock. There are stairs that allow you to get in and out of the water. The river is very wide (approx 100'/30m), and very deep. The shoreline is covered in rocks, therefore the only access to the river is from the dock.

Great location. Super comfortable cottage equipped with everything you'd need for an extended stay. Great WIFI / Satellite and lots of activities / games to keep you entertained inside and outside the cottage. Great swimming and they even provide stand up paddle boards, kayaks, a pedal boat and a canoe. Owners very attentive and quick to respond to any concerns you may have. We had an awesome week.

Lovely, clean, spacious, fun place!

We stayed 6 nights in June and really enjoyed our time at this beautiful, large cottage with plenty of outdoor seating on the large deck overlooking the river. Spotlessly clean and roomy inside with very well equipped kitchen and snowy white linens and towels provided. 4 TVs!! Central air was great. Outdoors we played ping pong and used watercraft. Had a wonderful time!

Amazing waterfront

The water was our main attraction, my kids loved fishing off the dock and caught a variety of little fish. It was nice that the dock was so close to the house as well. Great variety of water toys and life jackets were available. We loved using the fire pit too! Made some great memories here, thanks again :)

Wonderful Cottage

This is a very wonderful cottage. I can’t find anything negative to say about the cottage. We thoroughly enjoyed our time there. We found the kitchen to be very well supplied. The inside of the cottage was set up very nicely with plenty of room for the 5 of us. We found the property to be very well maintained. There was such a variety of activities that could be done outside. I highly recommend this cottage as a great place to stay.

This was our second stay this season.

This rental provides everything you need for a carefree vacation. This is a waterfront property. My two adult sons had a wonderful time on the river. They used the canoe and stand up paddle boards during the day. Before dinner they enjoyed playing ping pong. We had happy hour on the deck and topped the day off sitting around the campfire. This was a perfect family vacation.

Relaxing getaway from the city

We loved our stay at Chris & Vera's cottage! As 4 adults + 1 child, the cottage was very clean, spacious, and comfortable for us all. We enjoyed lots of outdoor activities available to us at the cottage -- including basketball, bocce ball, canoeing, kayaking, yoga on the dock, bbqing, and sitting in nature. Our visit was in early June, and the river water was very calm, and warm enough for us to enjoy swimming on one of the days. Thank you so much Chris & Vera - this was just the relaxing getaway from the city we needed :)

Beautiful Week Away!!

My family and I enjoyed a lovely week away at the cottage. The house was stocked well from top to bottom with the essentials. It was cozy yet modern at the same time and noticeably tidy and clean upon arrival. There were numerous areas for activities and games inside and out. The firepit was great for relaxing at night! But the best part was the huge dock and access to the Burnt River. The water was perfect temperature for swimming and was just the cherry on top of a great vacation spot. 10/10 would return again!

The perfect getaway.

I am a recent widow. My adult son and I went to the cottage to have a peaceful time to relax and reflect. The cottage was exactly as advertised. We had everything you could possibly want for a home away from home. A tranquil setting on the river. The kitchen was thoughtfully stocked. The beds were very comfortable. We have already booked it for a week in September.

Overall nice place… needs a few touch ups.

Kitchen lacked proper cooking tools eg. hot mitts, microwaveable cooking dishes. Only left 1 roll of paper towels and not enough toilet paper for 6 people. For the price, we shouldn’t have to worry about these things. The landscape such as stone retaining walls and stairs were very dicey. Stairs at front were collapsing and very dangerous. Otherwise accommodations inside were good.

Family Getaway

This property was excellent. It had more than ample space both indoors and outdoors for our family of 6. All 3 bedrooms were very comfortable. The open concept space in the kitchen and living room was great. The views from the large windows was awesome. The large windows also provided great natural lighting throughout the day. We enjoyed the extra space in the finished basement and the entertainment items provided. All the outdoor items pedal boat, canoe and fire pit made the daylight time very enjoyable. Everyone loved the river for swimming and floating along on the lazy days of summer. The cottage was away from the city but close enough to small towns for sightseeing and shopping. Fenelon Falls provided many interesting shops and places to eat if you wanted. A grocery store was also close by. Overall we really enjoyed our week and would recommend this cottage to others wanting a quiet out of the city vacation.

A nice, private escape in Kawartha Lakes

My family and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The cottage, which offers lots of privacy from the neighbours, was clean and spacious and the expansive decks and dock were perfect for entertaining and lounging. The Burnt River is very deep but perfect for swimming (no current/undertow, very little weeds, warm). My kids swam with lifejackets just to be safe. The fishing wasn't great off the dock (I caught only a small rock bass in five days) but there are smallmouth bass, pike and muskie in the river. One super convenient thing about the cottage is that all the amenities are within a few quick steps — you don't have to hike too far down to the dock or over to the fire pit from the cottage. Also, communication with the owner was great, often receiving a reply to inquiries within a few minutes. Overall, we were very happy during our stay and would rent the cottage again in the future. Recommended!

6 adults (3 couples, 1 dog). Great spot on the river, low boat traffic. Great walking trail nearby and 15 min drive to town. Kayaks, canoe & SUPs a great touch. Hosts were super communicative and got back to us quickly over text. Amenities were great - AC, Wifi, smart TVs. Keypad lock is a great touch for groups who split up to do their own thing. Would be a bonus if all TVs had casting. There is Fibre to the house but speed for wifi was 50 mbps down, 10 up. Loved the board game and lawn game options. Kitchen is fairly well stocked with essentials: utensils, coffee machine, airfryer, plastic wrap/foil, salt, pepper, sugar, and bbq utensils etc. Mobility: this listing could be a challenge for those with more significant mobility needs - there is a door off the driveway (main door is 8 steps up) but main level is up 6 stairs and bdrms another 4 steps (w/railing). Bath with tub is on upper level, and is snug to manoeuvre with only a little clearance between door opening and vanity. Bsmt bathroom has standing corner shower. River drop off is quite deep off the dock, would definitely be more challenging for those with balance or mobility needs, or young kids, you need to use a ladder or the stairs (water starts 3 ft deep off the stairs). Little touches of the property could be improved - providing hand towels, a deep clean, fresh shower curtain liner, minor deck maintenance, grout, etc. Overall, great place for a cottage with the fam- Would come back! thnx Vera! :)

Lovely cottage

This cottage/home was lovely and had many extras. - i.e. balcony, large seating areas inside and out, great kitchen and utensils, beautiful recreation room with many games,and firepit was a great addition. Not far from Fenelon Falls so shopping and restaurants were handy. It had some drawbacks for our purposes which perhaps would not be a problem for others. TVs were not hooked up and if our son had not been there, we wouldn't have been able to figure them out. Granted television is not necessary, but with the lousy weather, it would have been nice. Many stairs, and since my husband and I are seniors, this was somewhat difficult for us. Swimming area is great for older children, but not for seniors or for small kids.

Perfect home away from home

The cottage had everything we needed for a getaway from the city. The cottage was larger than expected and the additional games/living room downstairs gave us space for our kids to have their own play space. This was our second year on the burnt river and not only was the indoor space great, the outdoor space was just as great. The basketball net, ping pong table, paddle boards, pedal boat, canoe and dock kept us playing outside even though it rained 5/7 days we were up there. Definitely would rent again!

So lovely!

We have a lovely time, cottage was light and airy, lots of windows with a view. The kids loved jumping off the dock and feeding the chipmunks. We loved sitting on the dock, reading, going on walks and playing foosball. It would be great to have proper canoe paddles, as we went for a canoe ride and had a bit of difficulty with the oars that were provided. Also, the listing said there was a hydro bike, but instead it was a paddle boat. We loved the modern conveniences of home like the air conditioning and dishwasher! We had such a relaxing time.

Great getaway

DVD player upstairs didn’t play sound upstairs but the cable was awesome and we watched movie downstairs. Had a little hail rain storm and the chairs blew into the water but we got them back safely.

Relaxing Time

My family and I had a quite and relaxing time. The cottage is just as in the pictures. Clean and well maintained. The clean crisp linen and towels were greatly appreciated, although we brought our own towels. The owners made all effort to meet our needs during our stay. Even though it is only an hour and a half from where we live, it's like entering a whole different world. The area is beautiful and serene. Time just seems to slow down as we enjoyed lazy days and afternoon walks. Would most definitely return again. Thanks Chris and Vera.

Late Summer Serenity in Fenelon Falls

This is just the sweetest little house on some of the most gorgeous cottage property I have ever seen. We were four adults and one little dog here for six days in mid-September, looking for some peace amid a crazy Covid world, and Chris' place was just the ticket. The house is cute and cozy, with all the amenities and TV screens to go around in an ideal location close to the charming town of Fenelon Falls. The showstoppers though, are the decks. The deck attached to the house made for some wonderful breakfasts and dinners, while the deck/dock connected to the property and on the water's edge was absolutely magnificent. The river and scenery are picturesque and gorgeous, and we spent so much time here just reading or relaxing on those Muskoka chairs. Considering the state of the world, it was exactly what was needed! If Chris is up for it, we will totally be back!

Lovely spot - great place to relax

We used this cottage to grow our family bubble -- bringing together three households from Toronto, Hamilton and Ottawa. The cottage was very conveniently located for this and indeed provided a wonderful respite from our social isolation. The house was well designed for us to spread out, both inside and out, with lots of comfortable spaces to enjoy. We took advantage of everything -- cooking both in the kitchen and out on the grills, eating on the deck, relaxing in the glider and around the fire pit, hanging out on the dock, trying out the boats and swimming (although the water was VERY cold!). Although situated within a small neighbourhood of cottages along the water, the house and yard are very private. It was an easy drive in to town to access any services needed. Having the rail trail just a short walk away was very handy, and we enjoyed using that too. Chris was extremely prompt in replying to any question or need and overall a pleasure to deal with. I definitely recommend this cottage.

We grew up cottaging, so my father and I put our money together and picked up this beautiful cottage. We've been renovating it for the last 3 years, and now, we would like to rent it out when it's available. My daughter loves it there. It's absolutely refreshing and the big yards lets her play without worrying.
