About this property

Pretty Victorian cottage (1860) in a charming setting, 15 min walk from seafront

Really sweet cottage, modernized in recent years, situated in a conservation area. Decorated to a high standard throughout. Ideal for romantic getaways, fun-filled holidays for small families by the sea, discovering Portsmouth, Hampshire & the South coast and business trips.

You can also find us through the Portsmouth Tourist Board.

Our cottage is spotlessly clean and has two bedrooms, one with large double bed and one twin - the twin has a 'zip and link' bed which can be made up into a large double. Our living/ dining room leads onto the bathroom and kitchen. Kitchen is fully equipped with everything you might need in a home away from home. Bathroom, as in many Victorian properties, is located on the ground floor. Garden has a patio area and lawn.

We are located 15 minutes from the seafront and conveniently located for lots and lots of fun activities and attractions. Also, minutes away from Albert Road with it's many restaurants.

A car is useful but not an essential. For those with a car, parking is available. For those without, there is a good local bus and train service.

Southsea, Portsmouth is a perfect location for any type of holiday and at any time of year – short city breaks, surprise Valentine’s/ anniversary getaways, Easter holidays, educational half term breaks, summer holidays by the sea, the Great South Run, Christmas and January Sales shopping. There is something for everyone. It is an ideal location for a holiday in Britain no matter what the weather or the time of year.

The cottage, as well as ideally located for visiting Portsmouth, is a perfect base for visiting the south coast and key locations further afield – central London is only 90 minutes away by train.

Neat and clean

We enjoyed our stay at the cottage and would highly recommend anyone staying in Portsmouth stay here. It's a recently remodeled space with a large bathroom and nice kitchen. There was plenty of room for the 4 of us. It's a quick walk to the seashore and there are a good variety of restaurants within a 15 minute walk.

A very agreeable surprise

Looking from outside you can't guess how excellent the interior of this victorian cottage is, very well decorated, with a simple but agreeable furniture, and a kitchen and bathroom top of the range. The days were rather cold for our mediterranean like, but the house was always warm, thanks to the very efficient heating system. Its evident the care that Keith and Salva put in keeping all shining and glittering. And their hospitality is also just perfect. Congratulations on such a good example of welcome in all aspects.

Très bien !!

Nous avons passé un agréable sejour. La maison etait conforme à la description. ils nous a été facile de garer la voiture, facile de trouver les restaurants et le bord de mer est à 5 mn à pieds.La maison etait très propre et nous avons pu prende notre petit dejeuner juste dans le petit jardin de l arriere maison. Nous recommandons la masion evidement!!

Wonderful stay - immaculately clean

We spent a lovely few days in this well appointed cottage. The place was extremely clean and everything was thought of by the owners - from kitchen equipment to puzzles and games. The location is fab for walks to the sea front and close to shops and other amenities. The owners were very friendly and helpful. Would highly recommend.

Das Cottage war sehr schoen und gemütlich. Alles sehr sauber .Die Betten waren bequem. Supermärkte und Restaurants um die Ecke. Sehr ruhig gelegen man konnte auch mit offenem Fenster gut schlafen.Parken konnte man an der Strasse kostenlos und es gab immer einen freien Parkplatz. Übergabe lief problemlos auch die Kaution wurde umgehend zurückgebucht.Der Kiesstrand ist in ca 10 min zu ereichen zu Fuss.Mit kleineren Kindern etwas länger so wie bei uns.Gute Küchenausstattung vorhanden.Das Cottage sieht genauso aus wie auf den Bildern.Wir würden es wieder buchen.

Very nice flat in a quit, superb situation near the sea.

For us as family with two children (7 and 9), the cottage was the right thing for four days in the city with enough possibilitiy to rest as well. All was clean and the cottage is quit fresh decorated. The service was good, the description was accurate and we would recommand the cottage!

Nettes kleines Stadthaus!

Ein sehr ruhig gelegenenes Stadhaus mit allem drin was man sich als Gast wünschen kann. Die Küche ist wirklich komplett ausgestattet, mit Blick auf den kleinen Garten. Alles wirklich sehr sauber und gepflegt von den beiden Besitzern! Parken in der Umgebung ist möglich, man muss je nach Tageszeit und Wochentag manchmal etwas suchen bis man einen Stellplatz hat. Aber eigentlich braucht man das Auto weder zum Strand noch nach Portsmouth hinein. Die Strände von Southsea sind zu Fuß gut erreichbar, der Bus fährt fast direkt vom Haus in die Innenstadt (Linien 1 & 2). Wochenticket für die ganze Familie für ganz Hampshire kostet 35 GBP. Wir hatten eine sehr schöne Woche in Portsmouth/Southsea. Es gibt vieles zu erleben, besonders wenn man maritime Interessen hat. Das "All Attractions" Ticket vom "Portsmouth Historic Dockyard" ist ein ganzes Jahr lang gültig, man kann als Familie die Sehenswürdigkeiten gut in mehrere Besuche während einem Aufenthalt aufteilen.

Delightful cottage

This is a beautiful cottage in a lovely location - very peaceful but close to local shops, seafront and bus routes. It was extremely clean, very well presented and maintained and equipped with everything you would need for a holiday stay. I thoroughly enjoyed my stay there and would certainly recommend and re-visit.

Wunderbares und ruhiges Cottage

Wir verbrachten hier eine sehr schöne und angenehme Woche. Das Haus ist perfekt eingerichtet, es blieben keine Wünsche übrig. Die Lage ist in einer Fußgängerstraße ohne jeglichen Lärm. Zum Strand ist man zu Fuß in ca. 20 Minuten und für die Erkundung der näheren und weiteren Umgebung ist die Lage ein guter Ausgangsort. Getrübt wurde der Aufenthalt durch die Problematik, dass kein Parkplatz vorhanden ist. So mussten wir teilweise weite Wege zum Haus in Kauf nehmen.

Lovely cottage to visit Southsea/Portsmouth

Perfect place for us to stay whilst visiting family in the Southsea area. The cottage was perfect for our 4 person family, fully equipped with everything you could need, everything clean and well maintained. Kieth and Slava really friendly and helpful. Super comfy beds, lovely garden area for the spring and summer months, very quiet niegbors. Easily walkable to grocery shops, the bars and restaurants and the seafront. Very easy to get to Gunwharf and old Portsmouth. Would totally recommend this property to anyone wanting a quiet place to stay that is close enough to all the action in Southsea.

Wunderschönes Cottage

Monika und Peter August 2015 Lage und Ausstattung des Ferienhauses stimmten mit der Anzeige überein. Wir konnten einen sehr schönen Urlaub in einem top gepflegten Ferienhaus verbringen. Die Vermieter haben gut bei der Vorbereitung und vor Ort unterstützt. Es hat, was die Ausstattung angeht an nichts gefehlt. Es gab sehr viel Stauraum im Haus. Bad und Küche waren sehr gut ausgestattet und sehr sauber. Außerdem ist ein schöner Garten mit Tisch und Bänken vorhanden Von Portmouth kann man z.B. London, Winchester, Oxfort und andere interessante Städte anfahren. Der Strand ist vom Ferienhaus nicht weit entfernt, ca. 15 Minuten. Einkaufsmöglichkeiten und Restaurants sind in der Nähe. Rundum ist das süße Cottage für eine Familie mit 4 Personen sehr gut geeignet und somit zu 100 % empfehlenswert.

Pretty and comfortable little house

This is a pretty house newly refurbished very tastefully and containing pretty much everything you need for a comfortable stay. The kitchen is a good size and well-designed and well-equipped. Although the cottage is not large, the rooms are not cramped and are furnished to give a spacious and airy feel. The whole house was very clean and pleasant. There is a pleasant garden to the rear although, sadly, the weather wasn't quite good enough when we were there to use the garden furniture provided. We had intended to eat in most of the time during our stay and there are a number of small shops and supermarkets close by to buy what you need. However, we found that there were a number of quite good restaurants and pubs within easy walking distance so we ended up cooking on only one day. Southsea and Portsmouth both have quite a lot to see and do and it's also a good base for the New Forest and other places along the coast - and, of course, a day trip to the Isle of Wight. We found the whole booking and checking-in procedure very easy and Keith and Salva were extremely helpful. We would certainly recommend this property to family and friends.
