Luxury Mountain Home - Hot Tub, Sauna, Gamesroom - Pet Friendly!

During uncertain Pandemic times Relax and spend time in our spacious, luxurious but cozy mountain home away from crowds. It offers all amenities after a day on the slopes or after hiking, biking, boating, swimming, golfing - the choices for outdoor recreation extend through all seasons! And if Home office and Distance learning
is the New Normal this is the perfect location - room for everybody, excellent internet connection and plenty of outdoor opportunities after work!
The house features a beautiful gourmet kitchen with marble counter tops, double oven, microwave and a cooking island with gas fired stove.
Our large living & dining room has a beautiful barn-style dining table to seat 10, a comfortable leather sofa seating area, oversize TV and surround sound as well as a wood burning fireplace. The panoramic windows face south and offer a view of Squaw Valley in the distance.

The house has 3 bedrooms which sleep 8 comfortably:
Master Bedroom with King Size bed and Master Bathroom Ensuite
Bedroom with Trundle Bed and Single Bed - sleeps 3
Bedroom with Queen Size Bed and Single for small Child
Games Room with Pull out couch (for hardy teenagers!) also with pinball machine, foosball table, juke box, Darts and many
games;
The games room has a pull out couch with a queen size mattress.
We have an office with overflow space for guests who don't mind sleeping on an air mattress
Each bedroom has an adjasoned bathroom with shower. One bathroom has a shower & bathtub, the master bathroom has a shower and separate
jacuzzi tub.

The house has a large sunny deck in the front with a seating area and porch swing and an even larger secluded deck in the back with hot tub, gas grill and a large entertainment area. Our latest addition is a a Fire pit area below the back deck for Campfire and S'mores evenings in the summer
Downstairs behind the spacious double garage a Dry Sauna is set up for cold winter evenings. It seats 3-4 comfortably.

There is plenty of parking in the driveway - it easily fits four cars.

The house is located just outside the town of Truckee in the Tahoe Donner Association - a resort with about 6,000 homes in a large area.
From Highway 80 Tahoe Donner is a short 3 mile drive away which makes it easy to access even if weather conditions are not favorable.

Wonderful house, perfect for our family of 7! Nice layout, awesome game room, hot tub right off the kitchen in protected deck area that was fun even in the snow. Easy check in and check out. Host was very responsive when we had an issue resulting in late check out. One of the best appointed kitchens I’ve used at any vacation rental. A fun place we would love to go back!

Great place to stay for a large group

This house is very large and we have plainly space for our group of 8 ( 6 adults and 2 teenagers). We really liked the hot tub and the deck very well furnished. The kitchen is also large and very well equipped. The house could have been cleaner but it was confortable.

Pre Christmas Stay

The property and owners were fantastic! We have stayed in many places on VRBO over the years but this home was definitely stocked with just about everything you needed…down to plentiful amounts of spices for cooking! The game room was excellent for the kids and even some adults that enjoy some good time fashioned pinball. Plenty of room and good location for all your Truckee and North Tahoe activities!

Winter Weather

We stayed at the property during an active winter weather event. I really appreciated the owner's suggestion and flexibility to arrive early to beat the bad weather. Once there everything went really well - driveway was plowed on schedule as was the neighborhood allowing us to take advantage of breaks in the weather (which did happen) and enjoy the area. Property was roomy with enough private spaces for us to enjoy vacationing with our adult children and their spouses.

Fully stocked Donner house

Overall we had a great stay here. Upon arrival it was very clear that the owners spend just as much time here as their guests though, so it did feel a tad unprofessional (I.e. owners personal clothes took up both closets in the master bedroom - one closet had a lock and the other was lock free but personal clothes filled both, fridge was half full of food etc), so I didn’t have anywhere to hang my clothes. However, it was a double edged sword because them staying here also meant the place was fully stocked with everything you would need during your stay. The back outdoor area was great- lots of seating and the hot tub was already set to 100 degrees so you didn’t have to wait to jump in- super nice! Bedding and towels could use a refresh (they were pretty scratchy). Plenty of bedrooms, bathrooms and space to spread out and relax. Washer and dryer was a nice touch too. LOVED the bathtub in the master - much much larger than most tubs! A little more attention to detail could be prioritized/a few things need fixing- curtain rod fell on me immediately upon arrival when opening kitchen slider, one window in the living room was broken. Overall happy with the house, just a little extra maintenance/attention could benefit the overall stay satisfaction.

We go to Donner every summer and have always wanted to find a place where we can go back to. Until this trip there was always something different we were looking for. The Happiest 50th Birthday

Anja was super responsive. And the cabin was excellent. Only 12 minutes from Donner Lake and ample parking. We literally didn’t have to bring anything besides food with us! Not knowing this, of course we over packed. Would love to rent again. Plenty of room, great layout and super pet friendly.

Perfect weekend in

This is the coziest rental home I’ve been in a long time. We just wanted a place to hang out in and the house had everything we might need. The homeowners left instructions for all the gadgets and appliances. The hot tub was amazing, and the kitchen had every utensil we needed. Would love to stay there again!

raised our now adult daughters to spend summers, winters and as many weekends possible in between in this beautiful location - they learned to
ski, swim and love all the beautiful hikes we have taken. The house is perfect for entertaining and many weekends have been spent with family and friends enjoying warm summer evenings on 2 large decks or cozy winter evenings by the fire.
Our house is in the ideal location to reach mountain adventures of any kind quickly and yet secluded and quiet with many lovely amenities after
a day of activities including hot tub, sauna, games room and Wifi of course..

We love our home and have made it the perfect getaway - come and see for yourself!
The house is ideal for large families. We don't mind well behaved pets either.

Why they chose this property

Location, location, location! We chose this property because it has excellent freeway access, is close to multiple Ski resorts. It is in walking distance to the Tahoe Donner Swimming Pool and also to a small store and a very nice restaurant 'The Lodge' at Tahoe donner Golf course.
It is a sunny house - the back deck has sun from early morning to mid afternoon in the summer, the front deck gets full sun from mid morning until the evening. In the wintertime the southfacing location helps with
fast snow melt in the driveway as well.
The back deck is secluded - we overlook the forest behind the house.
From the front deck we have sweeping views over the surrounding mountains.
For the winter months however, we use a local service to keep the driveway free of snow so easy access is always guaranteed.
