More information:
The space
This private cabin is located on a 3-acre property in the middle of Skagit Valley farmland with an 1898 Victorian Farmhouse. The cabin has private views over farmland, with sunlight shining in huge windows from morning until late afternoon. Enjoy the full kitchen, and complimentary coffee, tea and snacks. The owners spend much of their time selling real estate in the Valley, but you may see them working in the yard or gardens.
Snow Geese are here! You may see and hear the Snow Geese all around Fir Island through March. There are plenty of picture-taking opportunities. Snow geese, swans and Bald Eagles migrate through here in the winter. You might hear the migratory bird hunters in the distance on a winter morning.
There is a high water-table around the property in winter – sometimes lawns can get soggy in places, so please be prepared if you go out in the lawn during wet weather.
Guest access
Guests have private access to the cabin and the immediate gardens around it. Enjoy watching the chickens in their "Chicken City" that Don built, or hang out on the deck and enjoy the view across the fields. Walks along the dike are enjoyable, and provide great views of the North Fork of the Skagit River as it flows by into Skagit Bay only a couple miles down the road.
Interaction with guests
We are happy to provide you with information on what to see and where to go while you are here - or we can provide you with your total privacy.
