Ventura Beach House with Ocean View

Newly renovated house, 3 bed/3 bath, very clean and spacious- new kitchen, bathrooms, bedroom and furniture.

3 level house with roof top deck- ocean views from roof top lounge area. New king bed in primary bedroom, queen in another bedroom, 2 twins in a 3rd bedroom.

Beach is clean, private and secluded with sandy area to lay out, read, relax and take a dip in the gentle waves.

Second row of houses to the beach. Beach access is from the pier and involves walking down a small slope a tthe pier. Nice surf at the Pacific Ocean. Known to locals as "little Rincon."

65 " TV with cable, wifi, digital entry door, coffee machine.

Filthy floors - my feet turned black!

The great part is the view from the rooftop. The bad part the owner has no control over is the traffic - 101 is being rebuilt in the area. The layout of the house is a party house, not a house for 4 people to comfortably share. We knew that going in - from the pictures and previous reviews. We didn't expect the sandy dirty floor. The lack of simple things like bedside light & table, or a place to put soap and shampoo in the shower. The seating was marginal, and the bed mattresses were bad (some sort of hard foam block - no inner springs with a pillow top). The entire house is an echo chamber of sandy vinyl plank flooring. The only throw rugs were in the bathroom. No doormat, no rug inside the front door, there was no way to not track sand in - and there was plenty left behind from the previous renters. I usually go barefoot indoors. After one evening and one filthy set of feet, I went to wearing my sandals 24/7. Several reviews had said the kitchen was not stocked with enough cooking utensils to cook a meal - and that was true. We had hoped the reviews that said there were enough pots & pans to cook were true.

We never received any complaints from this traveler during or after his stay. All of our bedrooms have curtains. They can even be seen in our photos.

Lacking in some areas

The property was fairly clean. There were no instructions left at the residence concerning WiFi or what was expected to be done on day of checkout. When we arrived there were wet towels in both bathrooms because they didn’t get proper dry time, there was a load of laundry in both the dryer and washing machine. A huge downfall for me was the lack of dishes and cooking pans in the house. I stay at homes like this so we can stay in and cook and this kitchen was definitely not equipped with a lot of dishes etc.
