Welcome to Beachin View Villa! Perfectly situated directly on a 4+ acre Lake Michigan frontage lot. This three bedroom home has 183 feet of Private sandy beach. The amazing views are some of the most unique you'll ever see as this extensively custom engineered home is literally built at the peak of one of the highest dunes in the area. With an elevation approaching 100 feet, and virtually no trees to obstruct your view, you can see for greater than 10 miles and nearly 180 degrees of blue Lake Michigan waters without even stepping outside. No need to lower the window treatments and block out the breathtaking views of this extremely private location as it is located in the exclusive, safe and gated North Gray Dunes Association. Catch a glimpse of shipping freighters as they pass by in the distance while enjoying a cup of coffee, espresso, cappuccino or cafe' latte (coffee maker, espresso machine and coffee bean grinder supplied). Watch your children as they play on the beach below or play on the private swing set just steps away from the water's edge.
Enjoy a competitive game of sand volleyball on the extensive soft, sandy beachfront. Play a bit of catch with a baseball and glove or toss a frisbee with family members while barefoot on the beach. Walk for miles along the beach while framed by a beautiful picturesque Lake Michigan backdrop. Enjoy a peaceful paddle along the shoreline in the two supplied kayaks. Turn a keen eye to the sky and the tree tops, and you just may spot one of the local American Bald Eagles searching the waters for food to feed their young. Recall simpler days as you reconnect with family members over a board game in the luxurious, view filled, four season room. Pitch a tent up on the beach for the kids to enjoy an evening at a private lakeside campsite. Relax with a glass of wine as you witness some of the most amazing sunsets you'll ever see. Enjoy smores cooked over the fire pit, or observe planets and other views of the universe through the provided electronic drive and computer controlled Meade telescope with some of the darkest skies Michigan has to offer. This is the perfect private beach retreat. The ultimate peaceful seclusion of a truly private beach retreat with full access to connect with loved ones or work via the new Fiber Optic 1000 mb/sec ultrafast internet added September 2021.

This is a great house with an incredible view. Great amenities and great beach. I would not hestitate to stay here again. You will get your workout in going up the stairs from the beach, but it is worth it.

Amazing view of Lake Michigan… you can listen to the waves from the cliff house, the walkway patio, or with your feet in the water. Very private beach which we walked the shoreline every morning. Three bikes and kayaks were all enjoyed. House is clean and nicely appointed. FYI you are pulling up to a garage when you arrive, the house is hidden from view. There is a double ramp to get from garage to the house… both a manual and powered cart are provided to assist in bringing your personals up to the house. Bring firewood for the patio fire pit, McCormick gas station nearby sold bundles. Mac Woods dune rides is about 30 minutes away, well worth the trip we really enjoyed that.

Beautiful view

The view was amazing. We were amazed with how clean the property was. The only bad thing was the smell when you walked in it was awful did get with the home owners right away and they explained it. We thought maybe a dead mouse or something.

Amazing view!

We enjoyed our stay very much. The house was fully stocked with everything we could possibly want. The view is stunning and worth the hike up the mountain. The walkway was a bit slippery on a frosty morning, but we used the provided "trax" (spiked covers for shoes) and they worked great. The host was having a fridge issue during our stay, but they made sure we had a working fridge and offered clear communications about when we could expect a repair person to arrive.

Relaxing Easter Week

House is great and location is fantastic. Isolated and quiet with great space for games and hanging out. Sunsets and lake views are amazing and stars at night are vibrant with little light pollution. Kitchen has plenty of cookware and good appliances. Nicely decorated. Excellent Instructions on how to run things. Went to church at Harvest Spring Lake which was really good and about 30 minutes away.

Perfect weekend getaway

My husband, my almost 3 year old, myself and our little dog stayed here for 3 nights. We had the best time and are so glad we chose to stay here! The views are incredible from just about every room in the house, and we got to see two amazing sunsets from the 4 seasons room! We loved walking up and down the beach and playing with the sand toys they provide. The journey up and down the stairs to the beach can be tiring, but totally worth it! If it had been warmer during our trip, I'm sure we would've loved to take advantage of the kayaks and bikes they provide. The kitchen was well stocked with everything we needed for meals/ snacks, and we took full advantage of the espresso machine!! We were SO excited to make our own espresso each day. The home was very clean and had everything we needed-- tons of fluffy towels, toiletries, bumpers for the bed our toddler slept in, etc. There were also thoughtful touches like nightlights in hallways/ stairs, chargers for phones in every room, helpful labels on things like lightswitches, and so on. We are very happy with our stay and would recommend this vrbo to anyone!

Lovely house!

The stairs were a lot, but the view was even more! Well stocked house. Nice and quite. Was happy to be able to bring my dog. Loved finding non stick dressing in the first aid box after my daughter fell off her bike and had a significant scrape. How thoughtful!

Breathtaking Views

Beautiful charming property with beautiful views. The home was was equipped with everything you needed. We stayed four nights and only left once to go grocery shopping. The beach was pristine. We loved the four lounge chairs on the landing. We spent a lot of time there and watched the sunset every night. It’s so hard to find a house that allows dogs. Especially one that is so clean. This house is a gem! Dave and Kim

Great summer getaway

This was our second visit here. My husband and two teenage sons had a wonderful week here, enjoying all the beach had to offer. The owners were very receptive when we reached out, and they really thought of everything you could possibly want or need. We especially loved the bikes, the fire pit, kayaks, and the two-way radios (a great idea when you’re down on the beach and don’t want to make your way back up the stairs for a forgotten item). The private beach was incredible and often we were the only ones out there. The house was very private and secluded and we saw deer right outside our windows on multiple occasions. We had magical sunsets nightly and enjoyed amazing star gazing. A great time to unwind, recharge, and create memories with my family. Highly recommend.

Fantastic!

My wife and I stayed with our two kids (ages 4 and 7) and my parents (late 70s). My parents are in very good health for their age, so they could handle the long ramp and stairs to the house as well as the stairs to the beach--but definitely a consideration for those with any respiratory or heart conditions. Otherwise the house has every imaginable convenience you could ask for in addition to the unparalleled views of the lake. Even though we had less than ideal weather during our stay in late March (barely broke 40F), we still had an amazing stay. Our 7 year old cried as we drove off the property, so that's proof enough the kids loved it. We hope to come back during the warmer months to fully enjoy the pristine beach.

A view like no other

The view was amazing, We had fog and rain and snow during the trip but it only added to the amazing view you get perched on top of the dune. With the weather we had it felt as if we were over looking the ocean in the Pacific Northwest. This place has it all! What’s in the listing is all there then some! This is our first time traveling not to a family lake house with our 14 month old and we brought everything. After making the first trip up we discovered we could leave the travel chair and gates due to the house being well baby proofed already at least for our son. (We have been told we are very lucky, our first child.) Everything was labeled and had tips for anything you could possible need or think of. The care that has gone into the house is amazing. The ramp was quite intimidating when we arrived. But again plenty of ice cleats in the garage. Never used them before and I ordered my wife and I each a pair before we left. They are great!! My wife and her cousin turned into baristas for the weekend and we had to go get more coffee beans they enjoyed making all different kinds of coffees so much. The ramp up to the house is a decent one but well worth it. After a couple trips it became easy. It was very evident the care and love that goes into this house and will be back if we head to the area again!

My wife and I are not rich out of state investors. We work regular 9-5 jobs in healthcare and are both Michigan born and raised. We strive to provide the best experience possible for our guests.

Why they chose this property

I spent my early childhood in St. Joseph Michigan, where my father and mother raised my siblings and I to appreciate the majesty of Lake Michigan in our 19’ Mercruiser tri hull boat. We moved to Brighton when I was 7 years old and when I grew to my adulthood, I was drawn back to Michigan’s west coast. I purchased a small 16’ Bayliner and took my wife and daughter to Lake Michigan several times a year.
I frequently dreamt of owning a little cottage on Lake Michigan some day. After we lost both my parents, both my in-laws and my brother within a few years span, I convinced my wonderful wife Sue to take the plunge with me. With our limited finances and the ever rising cost of properties near Lake Michigan, we decided to try our hand at renting our place out as a short term rental. We love sharing our home and providing the backdrop for so many great memories for our renters and their families. We have more than one amazing property now and we are still hoping to expand a bit more by finding incredibly unique and beautiful locations for our rental base.

Joseph & Suzanne Bergum
