About this property

☀️Updated Cottage, Heated Pool, Great Location near Silver Lake Sand Dunes!

Our cottage is great fit for a couple, small family, or a few friends! (5 max adults & 8 overnight guests total).

Our Cottage is located in the Floradale Association. Literally steps away from the heated pool. So convenient for all, but especially if you have kids in your party. You also have access to the Club House, Ping Pong, Shuffleboard, Tether ball, Horseshoes, Tennis and Basketball courts as well as 400ft of private association beachfront with swimming dock.

Our cottage has 2 bedrooms, 1 with a Queen bed, and 1 with 2 sets of bunk beds. Twin sleeper sofa, and sofa in Living Room space. There is 1 bath with shower. There is also a large well-equipped kitchen and dining room with large table that seats 8. The cottage also has a deck with dinning space. There is lawn furniture, an outdoor grill, and private fire pit. Plenty of parking! Large lot.

We have just finished renovating this cottage and it looks amazing! All painted light and bright with fun beachy décor. Air and heat. This cottage will not disappoint. Feel free to inquire about the renovation. We can also show you our other cottage in the same association if you are interested in a larger cottage or are traveling with a larger group.

We do rent by the week, Friday to Friday from mid-June to Labor Day. Before and after those dates, we do rent for a 2-3 day minimum. If you don't see exactly what you want with dates feel free to message and we will see what we can do to accommodate you!

Just a few miles away is the state park dunes where you can ride through the sand or walk. Also, you can take a dune ride from Mac Woods or rent a buggy to tear up the dunes yourself. There is also a 22-mile paved bike /hiking trail along with mini-golf, bumper cars, go-carts, and many specialty shops to browse through. So, book your vacation today for summer and fall 2026 or2027! Just the right size for our family of four. We trailered a street legal toy and there was plenty of parking spaces to leave the trailer there. We cooked a few things and they provided the basics we needed for that. We appreciated the leaf blower available to blow off dust or sand off the outdoor areas. The woods are right outside the back of the house, so the black squirrels were fun to watch. We had one random issue and the owners responded right away to solve it. We’ve stayed here before so we definitely recommend staying here.

Family Trip through Michigan

We enjoyed our stay. Grilled out one evening and did a fire for kids to make s’mores. Enjoyed Mac Woods tour and Little Sable Lighthouse. We also did Sleeping Bear dunes. Perfect house for a family!! We will be back and nightly recommend!!

Beautiful cottage, wooded, heated pool!!

The cottage was so cute, clean, and up to date. Very close to beautiful Lake MI and Silver Lake. Walk a short distance to heated pool, awesome, as Lake MI was freezing! Enjoyed the dune buggy Ride, the ice cream shop, walks on the beach,and campfires and singing away. I love to swim so the heated pool was #1. The hostess was super responsive and helpful!

Beautiful home

The home was beautiful and extremely clean. The only thing for us was the mold smell was extremely strong. We lost clothes, blankets and pillows because we couldn’t get the smell out.

Mold smell? I am really unsure of what this is referring to and of course would have tried to correct or replace anything of theirs that was damaged. We check in with our guests during their stay and nothing was mentioned. And concerns about items being damaged was not brought to our attention after their stay. Hard to fix any issue they have if we are not informed about it.

Breath of Fresh Air

In the area for a long weekend to celebrate a wedding and take a break from our everyday. This place was clean and quiet, sitting on the porch in the trees was exactly what was needed. Melissa was incredibly understanding and accomindating when a bout of food poisoning tried to off rail our weekend away. We definitely would come back! Thank you!

Perfect Find

We made a last minute decision to stay at Silver Lake so my fiancé could visit with his older children vacationing in the area. Finding this place on VRBO was such a blessing! The owners were great to communicate with and the property was clean and great atmosphere! Location ended up being perfect for many things to do in the area also! We are new to VRBO so didn’t know we needed to bring towels and I’d say that would’ve been our only downside, but trivial in the grand scheme of things! I would come back here again and again!!

We thoroughly enjoyed staying in this lovely cottage. It was so close to the pool, basketball court and tennis/pickleball court. It was also a walkable distance to the lake. The cottage was well furnished and well stocked. The fire pit area outside was perfect for evening family time! The hosts, Ker and Melissa, communicated well with us and were very kind! Our family is so grateful for this stress-free and enjoyable home away from home.

Why they chose this property

We both grew up going "Up North" for family vacations as children and love the area. In 2012 we stayed with a friend who has a cottage in the Floradale Association of Silver Lake. We both loved the history of the association being started by Mac Woods as a resort in 1930. It feels a bit like stepping back in time and just feels like a special place. On that trip in 2012 my husband asked our friend, "Which one is for sale?" and we bought that one within the short months following. We purchased this cottage as well in 2019. We love sharing our cottages with you are proud of what we have created. We know you will love it as much as we do!

What makes this property unique

Our cottage is updated with comfortable and cute beachy decor fitting the dune theme. It feels a bit like a tree house as well with large window to the back, with a ravine below giving a beautiful tree filled view. It is cozy. The association is a little escape from the hustle and bustle of town and the dunes. And the heated pool and amenities are just a bonus to round out your stay in Silver Lake.
