About this property

Turtle Cottage - Anna Maria Island

Great 1 bedroom, 1 bathroom cottage on the quiet north end of island. The house is conveniently located and within walking distance (two short blocks) to the beach and close to the intersection of Gladiolus Street/Alamanda Road. This great getaway sleeps up to 4.

The cottage has an open floor plan and it is about 800 sq ft. The bedroom has direct access to a private patio area with washer and dryer. The living room has a sofa, which also becomes a comfortable queen bed. The property has been recently renovated (December 2019) and has a heated pool + spa and landscaping. My favorite spot of the house is the private outdoor shower with hot and cold water. The side door leads to the patio where you will find an outdoor dining area complete with oversized umbrella, outdoor shower, and electric grill. You will also find a beach cart to transport beach essentials to and from the beach.

The house is located on the very desirable quiet north end of the island. Specifically 2 short blocks from the very end. It is very peaceful and beautiful around this quite area with very low traffic, if any at all. You can easily travel across the island on the free trolley, which has many stops throughout the island. There are also many places who offer bikes and golf carts for rent. There are many restaurants, small shops and a Publix supermarket all with in 10 min max driving and reachable by bikes and golf carts. You can take a very short easy walk to the famous Rod and Reel pier/restaurant.

Spring break with my sister

my Sister and I had a great time. The turtle cottage was a perfect place for us. We love the pool, the hot tub, the outdoor shower and being two blocks from the beach we literally parked our car and walked or rode bikes everywhere. We will definitely stay here again. The location is perfect.

Family vacation!

The property was ready for us upon arrival and check in was a breeze! We arrived the day after the hurricane came through and they did a great job with clean up! Plenty of the bathing towels & beach towels. My kids ended up coming with us and the pull out couch was nice. The pool, hot tub and outside shower were phenomenal. So much privacy!

We love coming to Anna Maria Island. The beach is absolutely beautiful. Turtle Cottage is perfect walking distance to the beach and shopping. Great places to eat. Wonderful getaway!

Overall a good experience, needs a few upgrades.

Loved the location, walking distance to the beach, restaurants and shops. One major complaint is the bed. It wasn’t a mattress, just several thick foams stacked together. No support and uncomfortably hot. We switched to the pull out sofa bed after two nights which was also uncomfortable. A real grill to use would also be nice.

Third Visit to Turtle Cottage

This was our third stay at Turtle Cottage. We LOVE it here. A few things are in need of improvement which I shared directly with the property manager during our visit. I would recommend a new mattress though, as this one is incredibly soft and not very comfortable, but I realize that’s a personal preference. Overall, we plan to come back for a 4th time! The location can’t be beat.

A nice Get away

We really enjoyed our stay. We for sure will go back, maybe a longer stay next time. The cottage was very clean and cozy. The patio and pool was a very nice and really enjoyed the pool area.

Quiet Getaway for Couples

Me and my husband stayed at Turtle Cottage from 9/4 - 9/7. It was our first time away without our kids since 2017. Turtle Cottage was exactly what we needed. It was clean, close walk to the beach, private, and quiet. Gustavo made the check in - check out process so easy and was always very quick to respond to messages. Such a special little place in AMI. Will definitely be back.

Perfect romantic getaway

My new husband and I didn’t want to leave! Beautiful property, clean, and awesome location. The one thing I was surprised about was that the house was connected to either another rental property or the owners residence. There were people staying there and it took a little away from the truly private feel. There were no issues with the neighbors, just would have been nice to know in the listing.

Romantic Beach Getaway

We enjoyed the old Florida charm of Turtle Cottage and Anna Maria Island. Turtle Cottage is in a quiet neighborhood, yet close to everything. Having a pool was a very nice feature and extremely enjoyable. There’s a nice corner of the pool that’s in the shade most of the time. The property was very clean and contained everything you need for a romantic beach getaway.

Romantic Beach Cottage

We loved the quiet spot at the end of the Island. Super cute Beach Cottage, the private pool, hot tub, and outdoor shower was a plus! It was great that everything was in working order. We also rented a golf cart which was perfect to get around. Thank you for sharing your home. ❤️

Amazing stay

I personally didn’t stay in the property. I got it as a surprise for my mother and stepdad (mom’s birthday) and they came back with nothing but great things to say. The property was small, cozy and most importantly clean. Property is located away traffic and noise. The pool and spa helped them relax and have a chill weekend. Check-in and check-out process were easy. They highly recommend the Turtle cottage and actually are looking to visit again from how great everything was. Owner is also a great guy. Overall five star stay, my parents highly recommend, which is rare cause nothing impresses those two, lol.

Great cottage

What a wonderful place to stay with my husband to celebrate my birthday. The location is close to the pier in a quiet neighborhood. We loved having our own private pool and hot tub. Would definitely stay again.

Perfect Getaway

Heated pool and hot jacuzzi with beautiful lights at night in pool. Large lounge area. Just down the street from restaurant pier and most beautiful beaches on island. Perfect location. Room for car and golf cart in driveway. Completely private house with outdoor heated shower. Smart TV in living room and bedroom. Absolutely wonderful stay on our honeymoon. Things to improve: electric grill is not very good, wish it had some more things in kitchen (foil, plastic bags, tools for grilling, tops for pans, etc.), outdoor plug couldnt support golf cart or grill (popped circuit), water from refrigerator leaked on to floor but host is very good and will probably have these things ready and fixed for people on future stays. Overall 5/5 stay. Couldnt ask for a better place.

My wife and I came to AMI to celebrate our 25th wedding anniversary. This house for our needs well. Great location in a quiet neighborhood within biking distance to beaches, shopping and dining. Didn’t use the pool much, mainly due to season, but hot tub was great.

Great get away!

It was even nicer than we were expecting. It's a great and romantic get away for 2 people. The owner responded instantly when we had a couple of questions. Location was walking distance to the water and yet very private. We are already looking at renting it again next year. Thank you for a very enjoyable experience.

Prefect location

We love Turtle Cottage. 2 blocks from the beach. We enjoy the walk. Close to shopping and dining out. Love The Rod and Reel Pier. Food is delicious. Our host Gustavo is nice, courteous and always helpful. We always enjoy our stay. 10 stars!!!!

Perfect 10th Anniversary Getaway!

We loved this darling little cottage for our 10th Anniversary getaway to AMI! It was romantic and a very short walk to the Rod & Reel Pier and Bean Point Beach. The weather was so nice during our November stay that we decided to just walk the 3/4 mile walk to the trolley stop when we wanted to check out things on other parts of the island. I especially loved that it was very quiet and laid back in this area. It felt like we had the whole island to ourselves. The hosts were very professional and kind and responsive to ease our worries about hurricane Ian. Highly recommend!
