Great location on MDI. Easy to get to EVERYTHING and very little traffic. If you are looking for low key, cleanliness and a welcoming deer everyday, this is the place to stay. Definitely would stay again. Everything has been updated...could use a couple of rugs to soak up the sound while talking or watching TV. Can't beat the location!
Very clean and roomy townhouse for our group of two couples. Our host was very communicative and has a large selection of brochures and tips for seeing the area, plus a lovely bottle of wine. We would recommend this vacation home and would gladly stay again if in the area.
My teenaged boys and I very much enjoyed our stay. The place is new and clean. Nice having bedrooms and bathrooms on different floors. Townhouse is conveniently located near several good restaurants, coffee shop and kayaking company.
The unit was clean and as advertised. The location was perfect on the quiet side of MDI. This was the perfect location to enjoy Acadia and surrounding area. The Flying Mountain unit is the center of 3 units and sound did travel but it wasn’t bad noise wise. The welcome card and wine were perfect touches and the community outdoor area with grills and seating great.
So - I’m pretty fussy and this property measured up! The bed was comfy, plenty of bath towels, and a very well equipped kitchen. (No Keurig here.) But the best thing? It was sparkling clean!
This property is a very reasonable 15 minute drive to Bar Harbor and Acadia. Things we enjoyed in Bar Harbor: The Thirsty Whale and Lulu’s Lobster Boat.
We enjoyed our stay very much!!
This property has updated features and was very clean. The host was very responsive before and during the trip.We did have a few issues during the stay (tv reception, getting locked out once) and she responded quickly. For guest comfort I would put a curtain on the inside window in upstairs bedroom to block light from downstairs. On the very warm days, the box fan, as well as the overhead fan helped with the warm temp of the upstairs bedroom.
Great value and a comfortable/enjoyable stay for our family with 2 adult children. Ingrid is a great host. Unit was exceptionally clean and up to date. The kitchen was well stocked and we were able to have a few meals in. Grocery store is convenient to get to. Outdoor grill area could be more inviting with improved landscaping, better seating and/or a fire pit. Could walk to Southwest Harbor, but we drove. Only decision next time is whether we want to be closer to Acadia and/or right in Southwest Harbor and up the fee to stay so we can enjoy the water, town or natural areas right outside our windows. It was about a 20 minute drive to Cadillac Mountain. Not a bad location, but the unit is not exactly a destination experience. There is no AC, but I’m sure I knew that going into it. It was an unusually warm few days (lucky us) for us in late May. No regrets in booking this property with Ingrid!
Nice, quiet stay near Acadia National Park. Cozy and comfy. Had everything we needed! Easy communication. Highly recommend if you’re looking to stay on the quieter side of the park.
Great location! We enjoyed staying in Southwest Harbor. It was easy to get to Acadia National Park trails. But, there were some nice restaurants and shops so close to the townhouse. Everything was neat when we arrived and Ingrid had it well stocked with everything we needed. It was nice to separate spaces to eat, relax and sleep!! This was my second visit… and I would return! Thanks!
Location. Location. Location. This was the perfect place for my husband and two sons to stay. We were a quick drive to Acadia National Park, the Golf of Maine mini-golf course, gas and groceries. The place was very comfortable, providing everything we needed during our stay. The beds were very comfortable. Highly recommend. Thank you!
We loved this house. To say it was clean is an understatement! We were very comfortable here and would stay here again in a heartbeat. She was quick to respond and supplied me with every bit of information I needed before checking in. We had zero problems!
The townhouse was clean and spacious. Great location, quiet and away from the craziness of Bar Harbor but close enough to Acadia NP. Only thing missing was a large pot (large enough to boil two lobsters) and a claw cracker. But we made do with a smaller pot (it fit 1 lobster) and a scissors. You can't go wrong with renting this property.

Clean but had a bad atmosphere.
The propert was ok. It was clean but not any personality. It has avery uncomfortable feeling on the inside. Most verbos fell like home but not this one.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Flying Mountain House. The house was very clean and well-equipped, and its location allowed us to walk to nearby restaurants. We all had a great time and appreciated our stay!
We loved the location and the property! Close enough to everything but quiet in the evening. The place was uncluttered and very clean! The host is responsive and helpful. Will definitely book one of Ingrid's property again.
We had a great stay and plenty of space. Our host thought things for a family to stay and made our visit to the area a warm and welcoming experience. The home was stocked with all sorts of needed products and even included extras we were not expecting.
