I love Avalon! Spent many summers here as a kid on Dune Drive in our cottage home. I thought this house would be charming and reminiscent of my old home, but it was a dark dreary depressing dungeon !Cramped living room, old outdated everything! Dusty filthy carpets! Bedrooms had broken blinds and a taped message as to how to work them (really? How expensive are new blinds in an overpriced cottage)? The spreads and pillows smelled like everyone else’s body sweat, how lovely! At this point a hotel would have been better! Back porch with two beds next to a washer and dryer …that room never cooled down (it’s an uninsulated porch!The bathroom is a joke! Old sink with separate hot/ cold faucets that I couldn’t fit my hands under to wash … just so gross! carpet in that room was like a gym … I never took my shoes off! The place had a heavy perfumed chemical extreme odor that was so strong I could taste it… found the source ( plug in glade) to cover up the nasty aromas I guess….Barely room to shower so I went outside only to find a rusty tin shack with a door that scraped your arms from not opening wide enough (I am 120 pounds)Cement floor covered in green moldy moss and spider webs as my grandkids were freaked out! This was the worst place I ever stayed in when vacationing in Avalon. I heard realtors don’t even care, now I can say I think they don’t … I wrote to ask for something I may have left behind and never got a reply. So that is what iced the cake to my writing this!
