Strategic location: every Florence historic centre site is walkable from the Maia apt (Uffizi, San Marco, Ponte Vecchio, Palazzo Vecchio, Santa Maria Novella, Piazzale MIchelangelo..). It is a lovely nest just remodeled down to the last details to make your stay comfortable and romantic: oak-beamed, wood ceiling and parquet, chip in making a warm atmosphere

The Space
Central, light and very quiet, the Maia is a charming and lovely vacation rental set on pretty street in Santa Croce area. The apartment consists of: 1 bright living room with sofa-bed; extendable dining table to seat six, TV and fully fitted kitchen ; 1 master bedroom with double bed, TV, chest of drawers, french window; 1 small bathroom with shower; 1 loft bedroom with closet and 2 single bed: one bed upstairs, one high-quality pouf bed (which can accommodate guests of any age) downstairs. Oak-beamed, and parquet in every bedroom.

The Neighborhood
Enjoy the charms of the Florence Historic center and Santa Croce lifestyle during your stay in Florence. A variety of attractions are only a short walk away. The apartment is located at the second floor of a just refurbished old and typical building, near to the most famous sites: few minutes from Santa Croce church, Dome, Ponte Vecchio, Bargello and Uffizi. Santa Croce is one of the most cool and popular florentine locations. The area is lined with restaurants, cafés, shopping spots (email hidden)ly atmosphere. Stroll down to the Macci’s street in S. Ambrogio area you'll find the lively famous food market with all kind of fresh products. There you will also find a pay and display parking. Do visit the Ciompi square with its antiquities market. Finally, I am a good cooker and food lover, so just ask for restaurant recommendations!

Car Not Necessary.
The Florence old town centre is full of pedestrian areas, small and easy to visit walking . Anyway the Maia apt is 205 mt far away from the pay and display parking of S.Ambrogio.

What a great property! Eugenia was a wonderful host. She was very helpful with all of our questions. The apartment was perfect for my family of four. It allowed us space, separate sleeping quarters, and a wonderful neighbourhood with many dining/shopping options. I would absolutely recommend this property.

Quaint and charming apartment in a great location!

We really enjoyed our stay at this quaint and charming apartment. It is perfectly situated close to many must see locations. It is a very quiet location and the host Eugenia was very communicative and checked in and answered all my questions as needed. It was easy to find and the check in and check out was easy. We would stay here again with no hesitation. The bathroom is small but similar in size to other locations we have stayed in throughout Europe. We appreciated having a washing machine for laundry as well and the laundry was dry overnight. Thank you!

Maia apartment was charming. It is in an old building, but brought very up to date. It is cleverly and charmingly decorated. The size of the apartment is typical for the era it was built in, not very large, but the space is accommodating and very clean throughout. Having the mini splits to cool during this time of early September was a huge plus!The kitchen/sitting area had ample seating. The view out the window was lovely! The kitchen was well supplied with all necessary items for cooking meals and a kettle for heating water for tea/coffee. The main bedroom was roomy and the bed comfortable for two. That was a pleasant surprise! The pull our couch in the kitchen area was also comfortable for both sitting and sleeping. The loft area even though having a bit a of a steep ladder climb to reach, recieved no complaints from the family member who slept there. I will say the room with the access to the loft is small and we found the cot in there was not up to our expectations. The shower is small by american standards but totally functional, with good water pressure. You need to pay attention to closing the door fully. The host was wonderful and always responded quickly. I've had difficult experiences in the past when getting into a place, this was not so with this host. They provided clear and full explanations with how to get to the place and entrance! I can strongly recommend Maia Apt!!!

Fabulous Apartment!

What a fantastic apartment on a quiet street in Santa Croce neighborhood. The location was perfect for my husband and me, we walked everywhere. The apartment was immaculate, everything in great condition, and Eugenia was wonderful! She welcomed us with a bottle of wine and provided helpful information on restaurants, the neighborhood etc! I highly recommend! Would definitely return. Thanks for everything Eugenia!

Good location

Within walking distance of most sights. You had to climb up a very steep and narrow ladder to get up to the 2nd bed which was a just a single bed. Air conditioner in that bedroom leaked water all over the luggage. Pullout bed was in the kitchen. We do not recommend this place if there are more than two adults. Bring spices if you plan on cooking, all the spice jars are empty. Could use some updates or maintenance.

Dear Tony, you left the house that looked like a pigsty. the sheets dirty with excrement. I've never seen anything like it. and you had the courage to write that the house was dirty. incredible. the house is cleaned thoroughly every time and I personally guarantee that the cleaning company does a great job. I changed several before arriving at this one and now I'm satisfied. and I'm not a person who settles. However, a review written by a guest who leaves your bed heavily soiled with excrement has no value for me. I would certainly never host you again. The worst guests write the worst reviews, unfortunately our jobs works in this way

Great fully equipped appartment

The appartment was great. We were coming from other places were everything in the kitchen was missing and we felt like getting back to our own home in florence. The appartment is small but well thought. Everything you need is there and you can tell they have a very good taste and care for the little details. The location was very quiet to rest, but really close to busy areas like santa croce and a nice little walk to the Duomo. Also close to areas were locals spend time like Giardino Antonino Caponetto, that we would have not known if it were not for this location. The attention was perfect, very flexible with the arrival hour and explanations. In summary, we loved this appartment, we felt like real locals living on such a beautifull city. I would love to come back soon!

Not as advertised

The place is NOT at all like it is advertised. The pictures are misleading. We were 4 in my group and as we walked in we found the apartment dark, damp and smelly. We all agreed that we could not stay there and we left right away. I had paid in advance for 4 nights so I asked for a refund for 3 nights but it was declined. The owner refused to give me any refund and I have not received a positive response from Vrbo either

Ho dato a questi "signori" la possibilità di lasciare i bagagli con quasi quattro ore di anticipo rispetto all' orario stabilito dal check in, ovvero dalle 12:30. Per tutto ringraziamento non si degnano nemmeno di dirmi che sono arrivati all' appartamento e io, preoccupata, alle 17:30 gli chiedo se va tutto bene. A questo punto rispondono che la casa non era quella che volevano e che sono andati via subito dopo essere entrati. Quindi dopo 5 ore sono io a chiedere se va tutto bene e a sapere che la sistemazione non è di loro gradimento. Chiedo perché e loro rispondono che non corrisponde alla descrizione. Chiedo i dettagli e capisco che la loro motivazione non regge, infatti non c'è nulla che non corrisponda a quanto scritto e mostrato nell'annuncio. Allora mi dicono che c'era puzza e umido e chiedono il rimborso della prenotazione (non di tre giorni come sostenuto in questa recensione ... ) Il servizio di pulizia, per fargli lasciare i bagagli, li ha fatti entrare quando il pavimento era ancora bagnato. E loro per tutto ringraziamento si comportano così... Evidentemente non era la sistemazione che volevano e hanno fatto un errore a prenotare. Forse volevano qualcosa di più grande, non lo so. Ma quando si sono accorti di aver prenotato la casa sbagliata hanno pensato bene di lamentarsi per avere il rimborso. Può capitare che ci sia un errore nella prenotazione, anche se non mi è mai successo prima d'ora e forse sarei stata più accomodante se questi "signori" mi avessero informata tempestivamente della cosa. La maleducazione dimostrata nel non comunicare nulla fino alla mia mail delle 17:30 e lo strano comportamento, hanno escluso nel modo più assoluto che io fossi disponibile ad un rimborso, anche se non dovuto, come la stessa VRBO ha confermato. Tra l'altro questi signori, non so come, sono riusciti a modificare il codice della Key box creando un problema che ancora non ho risolto e rendendola inutizzabile agli ospiti successivi. Questa recensione è una ritorsione e non una vera recensione. Mendace e fuorviante va a scapito, oltre che mio, anche di tutte le persone che possono farsi condizionare nella scelta della sistemazione. Comportamento poco rispettoso e scorretto verso tutti. Insomma un'esperienza negativa in tutti i sensi.

Hi there We looked at this posting and the picture is very deceiving, extremely small.We went without lights in the bathroom for 2 days and it was brought to the attention of the owners, where she seamed to be not attentive nor bothered with the problem. She did state that her husband would be by the next day.Once her husband changed the light bulb she scolded me about leaving the lights on....are you kidding me we need the lights on to see in the bathroom! Their was black mold in the bathroom around the shower. Never again!!!

Ahahahah, never again, sure! I wouldn't host you again. Unkind, never thanks or please, we changed the lights some hours after your call and my husband found all the airco splits and the lights in the apt on. I cannot understand wasting as I told you. No respect for rules, no education. I had to call you for second rate payment one day before your leaving. Very rude guest. Unfortunately sometimes it happens..

Excellent place to explore Florence

We stayed here for 2 nights right after arriving in Italy after 30 hours of travel (by plane and train) from Sydney, Australia with 3 children (8, 5 and 3). It was an excellent first stop. We were all very tired when we arrived and Eugenia was waiting for us at the apartment. A very smooth check in which is what you want when you are exhausted. There was even a bottle of wine! The kitchen, like many in Italy, is very small but has everything you need to make a meal. Basics, like olive oil and coffee, are provided. There was also dish washing tablets. All appliances worked without any problem, including the air conditioners. The fridge was large. Location of the apartment is very central and there are many things nearby so we only needed to walk to do our sight seeing. Very good for small children but, in case it is a concern for you, there is a loft bed which is accessed by a steep staircase/ladder. The railings at the top stop children from falling out but if they horseplay someone can get hurt. My kids were fine with it and even the 3 year old could get up without any problem. But this might be a concern for some people. There is also a single ottoman foldout as well as a sofa bed. If you use the sofa bed, it would take up the kitchen/living area. The master bedroom is very large. The bed is firm and comfortable. Everything was clean when we arrived and the linen and towels were good quality. Eugenia also helped us to book our taxi back to the train station. Her communication throughout was terrific. She responds very quickly to messages. A very enjoyable stay in a great and convenient location.
