Fishing Carrabelle

The property was very nice and comfortable. The area is pretty quiet and not touristy which is why we picked it. Carrabelle beach was right next door and allows dogs on the beach which was really nice.

Great location to explore the area. Apalachicola, Eastpoint short ride to the east and we took a charter out of Panacea which was an easy scenic drive 35 minutes west. The dock had water even at low tide when other properties were dry well beyond their dock. Sandy Beach Properties were great and everything was super easy to just get there and relax. Highly recommend!

AMAZING

Can I say AMAZING again??!?!? The property is beautiful, the owners are awesome and friendly. We loved our short stay here - 4 days - so much we are already planning our next trip back. We enjoyed the peace and quiet in a great spot right on the water in a forgotten part of Florida.

Quiet Cozy Beach Stay

We brought our standard poodle to this property to enjoy viewing the beach and reading. It more than met our needs. The cottage's backyard is Saint George Sound, part of Apalachee Bay. We enjoyed great views from the bedroom and front porch. The owners provide many amenities not listed and quickly solve any problems.

Love it!

Our family stayed 2 nights at this location. It was amazing. There is private dock was perfect. Our son was able to fish off the dock and caught many species of fish. In the evenings we saw sea turtles and dolphins. It was very clean and welcoming!! Highly recommend.

Beautiful, quiet retreat. No crowds and serene setting.

Not only was the property spectacular, but we lucked out in that our visit was on Cinco de Mayo. The lighthouse across the street had a festival with live music, food, and beverages for kids and adults. Took our beach chairs and had a blast. The only bad side was there was construction going on at the property, and we had no access to the beach, as the stairs were being replaced.

Relaxing get away

The property was perfect for our long weekend to celebrate our wedding anniversary. We felt like we had the entire sound to ourselves - except for the visits from dolphins, turtles and pelicans! Even when we went out on the kayaks we didn't see another soul on the water. The house itself is perfect for a couple and was very well stocked. Would definitely return.

Super nice place to stay.

AMAZING place to watch dolphins, turtles, and other wildlife! We spent so much time on the screened in porch just looking at the ocean. Everything in the house is above par and super comfy. We also enjoyed watching the wildlife from the pier at sunset. The only issues were the brackish water and the road noise. I was disappointed but came to understand that the brownish water brings in the wildlife, which we saw very little of at the St. George Beach which was a beautiful, 20 minute drive from the house. Also, seeing the solar lights on the pier from the bedroom at night, and listening to the waves was perfect. The owners were there if we needed anything or any info, but weren't obtrusive at all. Wonderful place to stay.

Great stay right on the Gulf!

Captain's Quarters was lovely. The pictures are a great representation of what is actually present in the house, which is always helpful. It's really two major rooms -- an open floor plan kitchen/living room and a bedroom with a bathroom -- but that's all I needed! It's right on the beach -- maybe 50 feet from the water. The beach isn't huge, but it's about a mile from Carrabelle's public beach and is very quiet and private. There aren't really any other houses between this one and the public beach, so you can walk a lot. I brought my (small) dog along, and she had a blast. (The owners were next door and very helpful with sorting out where to put puppy leavings and other trash.) I was there on a writing retreat, so spent most of my time on the screened-in porch, writing away to the sound of the waves and birds. It's right across from the lighthouse (which has a little more walking space) and a sidewalk toward Carrabelle. Very well equipped house -- they even had salt/pepper, cleaning supplies, and a good variety of kitchen goods (with decent knives!). We had a couple of good thunderstorms while there and the house felt sturdy even in high winds. My only issues were that there wasn't really anything I could use for a desk (I improvised with a TV tray and stool) and I-98 is close by, sometimes with loud cars zooming by. Overall, a really lovely stay in a little gem of a place!

Great property for a quiet getaway. We booked this property on fairly short notice, after we decided to extend our round trip from Ohio to pick up our daughter in Tallahassee. The guest house is located right next to the main house and has great views of the bay. It is very clean and updated nicely. (The only suggestion we have is replacing the two twin mattresses in the bedroom with an actual king.) This is a very comfortable property, perfect for adults. Quick access to a cute public beach just a 30-second drive down the road. Very friendly people and laidback area.

Beautiful house

Wife, me, and 3 kids (17-21) stayed in the big house while my brother and his wife stayed in the Captain's Quarters. House was well done, better equipped than any other place I've ever stayed, and had plenty of outdoor space. Unfortunately, the weather wasnt as good as in years past due to Elsa, but we still had a fantastic time. We love the area and the people, which is why we keep coming back.

Great Vacation

We love Carrabelle and how quiet the location is. We had a little trouble with the drinking water the last couple of days but the management group responded quickly. We were not bothered and the place is exactly as described.

Captain Quarters is very quite and relaxing. Enjoy the bay breezes and watch the dolphins play. Just a little problem with the water softener that was taken care of as soon as I knew there was a problem. Book your reservation today and come and enjoy Captains Quarters!

The beach area was not what I expected from the pictures it was not present some days.

It was peaceful and relaxing for my husband and I. Do plan on driving if you want to eat out. There are a couple of places to eat in Carrabelle for breakfast and lunch but not many dinner options.
