Michelle made our experience super easy and memorable! Drive up a private road and a pretty steep hill (4wd a must in winter) to a secluded, beautiful house with plenty of space. Just you and nature. The house itself has all the amenities - full kitchen, sitting areas, and even a wood stove that Michelle started up before we got there. Beds are comfortable, and the bathrooms have insane mountaintop views. Michele even left a few eggs for starter breakfast which was much appreciated. You can’t find a better home base for all your VT adventures. Will be back for sure. Thanks Michelle!
My friend and I stayed here and enjoyed the lovely view, even in February. We found the home cozy and comfortable, with everything we could possibly need. The hosts were kind enough to let us check in early, which was so nice of them. It seems to be a lived in home, so there are family items there, and some repairs are needed (stove handle and deck rails), but we very much enjoyed our stay overall.

It was so great to have you come stay with us. Yes, as the listing states it’s our family’s home. If you ever want to stay where there is no personal items I would recommend our guest house next door. Sadly a guest broke the oven handle but as you know it doesn’t effect the quality of how amazing the oven works. New oven and deck ( which is closed right now anyway) coming shortly. Covid has everything delayed. I am so thankful we were able to accommodate that 3 hr early arrival so you could extend your stay.
This lovely farmhouse at the end of a private road was perfect for the quiet country escape we had planned. A great base location for hikes in the Southern Vermont mountains and also a comfortable home to relax in all day. Hosted with respect for your privacy while available for any needs or questions. We would happily return.
The house is beautiful and in a remote, quiet spot with a great view. Unfortunately it rained all 3 days of our short trip so we were unable to sit on the deck and enjoy the view. The owner communicated with us often and seemed very nice through the emails. We wish we could have stayed longer. We got food at the Putney Country store to bring back to the house to eat and it was delicious!
If you are looking for peace and quiet, this place is for you. On a hilltop overlooking a sea of green and a pond below, this spacious house offers a pleasant respite from the noise and hassles of everyday life. Michelle was a lovely and gracious host.
Sadly, we only had one night in this lovely home. What a gorgeous view and cozy bed. Wish we could have stayed longer to enjoy the deck. We hope to be back before long. Wonderful experience!
Communication with the owner was extremely easy and Michelle took the time to make sure we were settled in. She left eggs and milk in the fridge for us. A very thoughtful touch! Loved gazing at the lake and mountain when the sun was setting.
My wife and I visited Vermont for the first time recently and we stayed at this lovely spot in Putney. We had a great experience from start to finish. The owner responded to our booking request immediately, kept in contact, and answered any questions I had. She met us there when we arrived, gave us a tour of the house, and provided use with a list of things in the area to do and places to eat. The house was large, clean, and well stocked with everything we needed. It had a great view from the deck, and the area was nice and quiet. We enjoyed our stay here very much and would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a quiet getaway.
The house was full of dirt and had old food left in the fridge and on the counters like someone just left. Showers were dirty and smelled like a wet dog....left 5 minutes after arriving will never rent from this owner....horrible experience

I agree that this was a horrible experience for us as well and others have been cautioned not to rent to these folks. The cleaning lady had just left the night before and all the windows were open. We live on a dirt road and perhaps a bit of dust came in. The showers were completely cleaned and we don’t have a dog nor do we allow any so that whole dog thing is a blatant lie. We always leave eggs, milk and breakfast things as guests are grateful to not have to run out looking for food first thing. We don’t charge extra. There were fresh cranberries on the counter and instead of saying thanks these guests complained. I offered to have the cleaning lady come over to point out what was not clean and have it fixed but they refused. I asked for pictures and they couldn’t provide them. The alarming response was “ this looks like someone’s house.”. Yes people it is. You are renting a home and not a hotel room. This is a new listing on this site but I have others. This particular listing has over 200 positive reviews on another popular booking site. The fact that they would rather try to ruin someone’s reputation and business by lying instead of giving me the chance to fix it for them speaks volumes and they will be reported accordingly.. Its frustrating when people think renting a home is the same as renting a hotel. There will be personal belongings around. The point is you get value ( the same price of a hotel room gets you a whole house), you get to experience the way people live in an authentic setting, and you get to to enjoy having everyone together if you are a larger party. These people were obviously very entitled and not grateful at all and clearly had expectations that couldn’t be met in a home. Also noting they have 0 reviews.
