We throughly enjoyed our stay at Spitfire Retreat. The home is exceptional and the amenities are top notch. The backyard patio on the lake was a perfect location for viewing the total Solar Eclipse. Rick and Anne were fantastic hosts!
We had an amazing time on Lake Champlain. The home was beautiful, clean, and most importantly, relaxing. With Burlington only an hour away, more options were open to us. We had one of the best meals of our lives in Vermont. I couldn't recommend this home any more.
It's been a few years since my Darcy and I (along with our dogs)stayed at Ann and Rick's home and it was great before, but their renovations make you feel like you are staying in a 5 star hotel! They have taken care of every detail! Plus the setting is incredible! Having your morning coffee while watching the sun rise over Valcour Island, and the fishing on their dock is incredible. We caught more bass than we did when we rented a boat! And also hooked 2 northerns right from their dock! A short drive for restaurants, a chef's kitchen for preparing meals, short drives to Lake Placid and Montreal all make for an enjoyable and easy stay for all. We will definitely be back!
This is our second time staying at Rick and Anne's home. The home is immaculate, open space, chef's kitchen from when you feel like eating in, beautiful decor and right on Lake Champlain, it doesn't get any better than this! They are also very patient and quick to respond as I am not good with electronics and couldn't figure out the tv. A short drive to town for groceries and restaurants, 2 miles from boat rentals, 15 minute to the ferry to VT and only a little more than an hour to Montreal. We would recommend their home to anyone and hope to be back next year
We arrived a day early and were welcomed by the owner! The house and property were absolutely magical and made our stay so amazing. We were a group of 4 adults and one toddler. The entire week long stay was something that we will repeat again! Amazing hosts, amazing property manager, amazing house and grounds! We loved every second!
Our favorite part of our week at Spitfire Lane was having a front row Adirondack seat on the ever-changing views over Lake Champlain. Inside the home, we were greeted by the beauty of the stone hearth, comfort of the large kitchen, and windows facing the lake. The combination of swimming in the lake, using the hot tub, and ending in the sauna relaxed and refreshed us. We cooked and grilled for every meal and found the kitchen to be well appointed with about every kitchen tool one could need. We felt lucky to spend our week at such a lovely and special place with our family and friends, and hope to be back next year.
