About this property

Myersville-Private 9 ac cabin on the Middle Creek, yet close to it all.

The moment you park the car and walk across the footbridge, your worries and stress disappear.

Along Middle Creek, nestled between South Mountain State Park and Gambrill State Park, lies a beautiful and relaxed 9-acre private cabin retreat. It is an amazing place to unwind, de-stress and get away from it all. Let the sound of the creek or the rain on the tin roof porch put you to sleep. A comfortable space, it has all the essentials of home including WiFi. Enjoy the fire pit on cool evenings or take a dip in the stream on a warm day. The property provides a perfect peaceful or romantic setting.

The first floor of the cabin features a fully furnished kitchen, living room with smart TV, and bath with shower. French doors open to a large covered porch. The second floor offers a queen sized bed, a day bed with a trundle, a TV/DVD player and reading nook. Step outside and be surrounded by nature. Sit and listen to the peaceful stream or watch the wildlife play.

For the anglers, the cabin fronts Middle Creek, a well stocked stream with Rainbow, Brook and Golden Trout. Bring your gear! If you're more into water sports, there are outfitters close by ready to take you on the Potomac or Monocacy rivers.

It is centrally located to several parks. The cabin is about 3 miles from the Gambrill State Park trail head which features over 16 miles of trails for hikers, bikers and horseback riders. Greenbrier State Park is 6 miles away and the Appalachian Trail, with several close locations for rock climbing. Cunningham Falls State Park is 7 miles away, with its stunning waterfall.

The area is rich in history. The Monocacy and Antietam Battlefields are 12 miles away; Harpers Ferry National Park is 18 miles away; and Gettysburg is 25 miles away. We are approximately one easy hour drive from Washington DC, Leesburg, and Baltimore.

If you're looking for a pleasant day out, you can visit beautiful downtown Frederick, Shepherdstown, Funkstown, Boonsboro, or Gettysburg. Like antiques? There are dozens of places to shop!

Maybe you just want some peace and quiet. You can find as much of that as you'd like in the cabin on Middle Creek.

You will be greeted by two goats, Felix and Fred that are boarded on the property. They love a good head rub and will not bother you at all.

Check us out online at Middle Creek Realty, Myersville and also on social media. Thank you for considering us.

The Cabin will be closed for the winter from first week of January to approximately second week of March. Feel free to drop us a message and we may be able to accommodate an off season stay.

The place is wonderful. Quiet and without neighbors. The only neighbors were the 2 goats they have on the property and they are shy and don't make noise; they are very calm. The cabin was super clean inside. The bathroom was immaculate and the beds were clean. Everything was very organized and the kitchen is equipped with everything you could need and much more. My husband and I went for a weekend to disconnect from the daily routine and be alone as a couple without the children. There is no cell phone signal but the cabin has wifi. During our stay the wifi was unstable. They have movies to watch and board games. We didn't use the grill area because it was raining. Something that can be improved is that there should be a path with stepping stones or something from the bridge to the cabin. When it rains it is a little slippery and your feet get wet walking that stretch. Apart from that everything was perfect. Communication with the host was always fast and he is a very attentive person. I would definitely return.

Love this cabin in the woods!

This is our second stay here and we loved it just as much. Such a cute cozy cabin, making you feel miles away from everything. We love walking the property outside, including walking in the creek and visiting with the goats who are so adorable. It’s a really fun unique place to stay and we would love to come back again. Thank you!

Cabin by the stream with goats

The cabin is well maintained & decorated beautifully. Water pressure is a little low but got hot. My husband has bad knees so the bridge & steps to bedroom were hard. The high temperatures & humidity didn’t help either but we can’t control the weather. We did have a wonderful relaxing trip and the goats are very nice 🐐

A little piece of Heaven

Very peaceful. Some road traffic noise, but mostly people going And coming to work. Saw deer on the property one morning. The creek was low on water, but I am sure in the spring and fall it is fuller. I Would recommend this cabin mostly due to all the State Parks that are near by.

We love the “goat cabin”!

This was our third stay here and we love it more each time. The first time we learned not to over pack because lugging everything over the cable bridge can be a struggle. But now, we pack light so we can enjoy the simplicity and peace that this secluded retreat has to offer. The cabin is well stocked and most things we packed were already there for our convenience ! Thanks again Mark for allowing us to share in your beautiful cabin. If you have children, be sure to check out the Catoctin wildlife reserve or green meadows farm. Plus the 3 or 4 state parks all within a few miles drive!

Quiet, calm, and clean

The property description does not do it justice. The cabin was surrounded by the most beautiful scenery including a peaceful stream. The cabin itself was incredibly clean. We had rain on and off for the whole stay but found plenty of games and books inside to keep busy. The kitchen had all the essentials. We did enjoy seeing the adorable goats and tried our hands at fishing. With a microwave update this cabin is nothing short of the perfect getaway for anyone looking for a little quiet.

A Meyersville Adventure

We enjoyed staying at this cabin. It was very clean and just as pictured and advertised. Pack lightly because you'll need to tote your belongings over the swinging bridge, which may be challenging if you have very young children or someone with mobility issues. We caught 7 chubs and a crawfish in the creek, which we thought was fantastic for late August! The goats added a country charm and were just as curious about us! We had a quick response to our questions, and the host let us know he was available, if needed. Susan N.

Cute cabin

The cabin is cute and cozy. It's a bit of an uphill hike from the bridge to the cabin though. The electric also went off twice while we were there, which was a little disconcerting but made it an adventure. It was a nice getaway in spite of the electric and it was perfect for the two of us.

Second visit and so peaceful at this little cabin in the woods

Beautiful scenery and two adorable goats to watch as they mow the lawn! Very tranquil and peaceful. Cabin has everything you need. Don't carry too much as you do need to get across the suspension bridge! Clean and nicely appointed. Just what we needed for a very relaxing weekend.

Fun spot for a few days away

This cabin had all we needed for a few fun days exploring. Had planned to hike more, but due to the heavy recent snake sightings on the trails we planned to take, and the fact that we had young kids with us, we decided to head to Harper's Ferry and Antietam. Mark's info binder was super helpful for making these decisions. Loved the goats, the bridge, the creek, and the property overall. There were some adorable baby skunks that we made sure to keep an eye out for at morning and evening hours. No a big deal for us since we grew up on a farm, but might be something for others to consider.

Excellent Getaway for an Extended Weekend

I don't believe I have ever stayed at a more relaxing location. I tend to enjoy low-key vacations and the closer to home the better since I don't like traveling much. My wife is much the same as I and this cabin was the perfect spot for an anniversary getaway. Since we're local in Frederick County, we could enjoy all our favorite locations if we wanted to go out to a winery, distillery, restaurant, or park, but away from all the hustle and bustle of where we live. The cabin's surroundings are very peaceful and relaxing. Sitting on the front, covered porch in the sun with the cool breeze hearing birds chirp, and friendly bumble bees buzz as they pollinated the local plant life is simply wonderful while the creek babbled in the background. My wife enjoyed it so much she said we should continue trips here twice a year. We just might do that!

Such a fun unique stay!

We loved this property! It was so unique and I loved that we were only 20 minutes outside Frederick but felt hundreds of miles away. My kids loved the goats, the swinging bridge and even though it was cold walking in the creek from rock to rock. The cabin was so cozy. Beds were super comfy and everything was so clean we immediately felt at home. Easy access to Cunningham Falls State Park, Catoctin Wildlife Preserve(a must do with kids!) and South Mountain Creamery and so many more state parks we didn’t get to. So we will be back!
