We are in the country and these are old cottages, we seasonally have lady bugs, stink bugs and wasps. We do everything to prevent them coming in the cottage. We do not give refunds however we will do our best to make your stay good.
The architecture in that period dictate that steep and stairs can be somewhat narrow and steep. However, we have made some accommodation that you could sleep downstairs also. (As per photos) We do not give refunds however we will do our best to make your stay good.

Charming pastoral history literally in the beams of the cottage! Half hour from Charlottesville. Ideal if you are going to UVA for a conference or event. Hosts are kind and attentive folks.
This property is located on an historic farm. We enjoyed experiencing a bit of history with all the modern amenities. The hosts are nearby and very welcoming and responsive. Easy access to wineries and UVA.
It was a privilege to stay at such an historic property. I am thankful that Kim and Nico continue to preserve the beautiful house and necessary buildings for all to enjoy. We were given complete access to the farm and hiked all over it.
Charming cottages! All the necessary comforts in a very prettily decorated and warm environment.
It was a wonderful stay on a beautiful property. This property is very relaxing and peaceful. The kitties and spaniel who live on the farm make friends with guests right away and bring such charm as the farm’s little mascots. Such a wonderful and relaxing experience.
Amazing farm, cottage and host! The scenic views and pool were an added bonus! Will definitely be returning! Three different cottages to rent with family or friends! Close to Charlottesville and Keswick!
The property was amazingly beautiful and quintessential southern farm. Dirt drive lined by trees provided the perfect welcome. Very comfortable cozy cabin provided the best night sleep. Oh and the welcoming committee were the friendliest kitties. Thank you so much and will definitely return for a longer stay.
This little cottage was perfect! It was built in 1772 but was very comfortable for modern day 2024 with its colonial charm. The hosts supplied comforts such as coffee and creamer. We drank our coffee in the rose garden and also wandered out to sit by the pool in the morning. We would definitely stay here, again!
The property at Greensprings could not have been more serene and picturesque. We rented 2 cottages so our family could spread out and that worked out well for the younger folks and the older folks. Lots to do in the area with shopping, restaurants and gas very close by.
The property is a beautiful historic setting. It was peaceful and serene yet still close to restaurants, gas station and more. Understand the cottage is truly historic with steep stairs to the second floor and low door frames. Nico and Kim were easy to communicate with and were great hosts. If we make it back to Virginia we would absolutely visit again.

Liked: Check-in, communication, location
Pros: the area and property is beautiful, with nice amenities. Hosts sent detailed information before check-in with driving directions and instructions. Conveniently located for visiting Charlottesville and Monticello. The property and area has some very interesting history, we recommend reading about it.Cons: the cottage we stayed in was quite small, with low doorways and a tricky staircase. We would not recommend this to anyone who might have trouble climbing steep and narrow stairs. There are no actual bedrooms with doors - upstairs is a loft/attic area (very low ceiling/roof line) with two beds, downstairs there is a sitting room with a daybed and trundle bed under it. You have to walk through the sitting room to reach the bathroom, which we did not find terribly convenient.Overall, we appreciated the location, amenities, and price, but struggled with some comfort-related aspects of the cottage.
My sisters and I have a trip somewhere yearly, called Sisters' weekend. I find unique lodging. This year, I found Green Springs Farm, a lovely place. The hosts are extremely kind and welcoming. We treated ourselves to a massage and the technician was fantastic. I can't
What a beautiful serene piece of paradise this is!! If you’re thinking of booking, just do it. You won’t regret it. While there, meet the owners and learn about the magnificent history this place offers. If you leave the door open, Charley and Carson will be sure to stop in!!
Cute cozy cottage. Relatively clean. We were able to walk over the pool area and enjoy a drink before dinner.
We had some issues with the microwave triggering the breakers. Annoying but the owners came right over to fix. They were very responsive to all questions.
Three adult women enjoyed the cottage very much! If you’re looking for a quiet getaway - this is it! About ten minutes from a couple of good food options (Well-Hung Winery restaurant and East of Maui coffee shop). Close enough to Charlottesville for time at Monticello and, of course, some fantastic wineries.
Our friend who is always warm stayed on the main level which was considerably cooler than the upper level. Size (small!) was perfectly fine for three of us.
Had a lovely time hanging out as parents and grown son. Beautiful property, nicely outfitted, quiet surroundings. Had fun exploring local area. Steps to upstairs bedrooms a little tough to navigate. Owner quickly responded to a small problem with thermostat.

About the host
Hosted by Nicolaas ( Nico in short )
Nico originally from Holland working all over the world and Kim a working actress and model based in Los Angeles paths crossed over 25 years ago on a flight from London to LA, and nothing has been the same since.
Since they met, it has been their dream to live on a farm; little did they realize this farm would be historic and in Virginia. The tree-lined driveway, beautiful buildings, rolling pastures, and wooded forests with the Blue Ridge Mountains in the backdrop, they knew this was the dream they always wanted and they wanted to share their love with anyone who is interested.
Why they chose this property
Countryside Living In A Historic 18th Century Estate Welcome to gorgeous and historic Green Springs Historic Farm. Conveniently located just 20 miles from Charlottesville, VA and surrounded by Virginia's finest wineries, the estate provides the perfect break from city life. Our beautiful home is listed on the National Register of Historic Places and our rich land is placed in a National Conservation Easement. The Main House was built circa 1772 by Colonel Richard Morris, who served with General George Washington in the French and Indian War and later was the Paymaster for the Revolutionary War.. The three dependencies that surround the Main House remain from around the same time period.
Nestled in an enchanted backdrop of 255 acres including forests with meandering trails, 2 ponds and a large 30 acre private lake, rolling pastures with beautiful stables for horses, Green Springs Historic Farm offers numerous amenities for all. * Note; We have horses on the property / pastures please do not feed them.
What makes this property unique
Green Springs Historic Farm was built in 1772 in Gordonsville, Virginia by Captain Richard Morris (c.1740-1821). He developed 1,746 acres of very fertile land by the mineral springs that gave the property its name. Col. Morris was the Commissary for the Virginia Troops during the Revolutionary War and during this time his good friend Patrick Henry would frequent the property. His eldest son, Dr. James Maury Morris, inherited the home and property, and when Dr. Morris died in 1844, the home passed on to his son, William. The house was sold in 1877 after William was killed in battle during the Civil War. Green Springs Historic Farm has changed owners several time over the decades, but the integrity of Col. Morris home has remained constant.

Bounded by Route 15 and Route 22 in the western end of the county, the area is six and one-half miles long, four and one-half miles wide. There was an early Quaker settlement in the 1720's on Camp Creek.
