Private studio - Adorable! Perfect for one or two people. Double French Doors open onto a little unpaved private road featuring your own outdoor sitting area for relaxing with a good book and your favorite beverage or dining al fresco next to a little flower garden. Our neighbors on both sides also supply lovely flower gardens - so good of them! This unit has a small kitchenette, the bath features a tiled shower, a queen bed as well as a fold out sleeper couch if needed.
You are tucked into the charming village of Suttons Bay just a minutes walk from shopping, dining, the beach, the Tart Trail and located in the center of Leelanau County.
Leelanau is home to Sleeping Bear National Lakeshore Park, Leland Historic Fishtown, and many trails for hiking, biking and exploring. Golf courses are in good supply and the county boasts over 25 wineries to visit and taste local wines. Traverse City is 18 miles away if you crave a little more action. The dining scene there is vast and diverse.

Suttons Bay

The Buzzard’s Roost was very clean and well kept. It was a perfect location for our trip and what we had planned. Very easy to find and within walking distance to the beach, restaurants, and gift shops in town. Would definitely stay there again if we get to that area in the future.

The studio apartment was perfect for our stay in Sutton’s Bay. The location was convenient for walking into town and the marina where we had our boat for the week. Very clean and cozy with everything we needed for our stay. Holly was a terrific host and very responsive. We will stay here again!

Get Away on Grand Traverse Bay

We recently spent 3 nights in this lovely, cozy studio. It was perfect for our needs. We absolutely loved the location-convenient to almost everything in Sutton's Bay! We loved sitting out in the little garden area. It was very quiet and private. We plan to visit again!

Perfect getaway

This is truly a GEM!!! This had everything we needed for a four day getaway. Very cute, clean, large, and located one block from the Main Street. We could not have found a better place and will return here on our next visit to Suttons Bay. We HIGHLY RECOMMEND this gem to anyone wanting the perfect place. Thanks for sharing your place with us.

Cozy and Quiet

We came to the area for wine tasting and a weekend of relaxation. We are so grateful we chose Holly & Jerome's property. Holly's responsiveness was gracious and immediate, every single time I asked a question. She even arranged for Jerome to go buy a tea kettle when I asked about whether there was one in the unit! Instructions for accessing the unit were clear and the walk into town was just a few blocks - very easy. The unit was well-appointed and had everything we needed and that you'd expect a hotel suite to have (hair dryer, coffee maker, soap & shampoo) plus an extra treat left in the fridge for us: a bottle of bubbly. We had a lovely time!

A beautiful studio apartment tucked away yet within easy walking distance to all that Suttons Bay has to offer. The location is perfect — close to the wineries and just a quick drive to visit charming Fishtown. It was exactly what we needed for some R&R.We would have given 5 stars, but unfortunately, there was a dog in the owners unit that barked nonstop as we tried to relax. It made for a disappointing time spent at the apartment, even though everything else was wonderful.

It's a perfect location! We were able to walk to everything around Sutton's Bay. It's a beautifully appointed little cottage(spotless!) off of the alley so it's very quiet and peaceful yet only 2 blocks from everything! Especially our favorite ice cream shop! Would definitely stay here again or suggest it to others!

This property was perfect for our visit to the area for a family reunion. It was comfortable, clean, and we slept well. We enjoyed walking around town each evening, including catching a movie at the Bay Theater and dinner at the Village Inn. The location is perfect for a Suttons Bay visit.

Tastefully appointed studio. The location was so convenient to downtown Suttons Bay. We really enjoyed the patio watching the hummingbirds in the tiger lillies. Highly recommend staying here.

Holly and Jerome Smith are both northern Michigan natives, but they spent their formative years in New York, running some of the region's best restaurants and vinting wine. After finally making the move back to beautiful Northern MI, Holly now basically retired still does a couple days at the area’s top wine and gourmet shop in Lake Leelanau (Peninsula Provisions) and Jerome is even known to lend a hand here and there at one of the best restaurants in Northern MI which is managed by their son Sebastian (the Riverside Inn in Leelanau). It is safe to say hospitality is in their blood. It should be no surprise then that custom concierge, catering and event services are available - just inquire if interested. Need help with tastings, tours, wine and shopping, local sourcing and foraging or just the skinny on the best restaurants and the local scene? They can help there too.

Why they chose this property

Both Holly and Jerome managed vacation rental properties in Leelanau county for other resort companies and after learning the lay of the land and meeting so many wonderful people, they knew that the adorable recently added little studio attached to their own home (which is now their latest personal project) would be perfect for visitors. This 100+ year old Victorian was purchased by my aunt as a pied-a-terre for her to come visit us and escape the summer heat in Washington D.C. where she had some mysterious position with the CIA. It has a great location in the heart of Suttons Bay with easy access to all the amenities the village has to offer visitors. Jerome's great-great grandfather was an original Suttons Bay settler, and their love for the area runs deep.
