The setting is tranquil, private with a westerly facing deck, uniquely perched over the 32 acres of spring-fed, trout stocked-water, perfect for romantic sunsets and viewing of wildlife. The detailed and comfortable cottage comes with a well-equipped kitchen, perfect for 2 people. There is wi-fi. Relax, read, fish, listen to the loons - a perfect get-away. Area is known for its great hiking, kayak, biking and fishing.
Come and unplug. We can and gladly accept out-of-state guests during this pandemic.

The view of the lake was great … the outside maintenance was very poor … the description of the cottage should mention all the steps to get to the cottage , carrying our belongings down and then back up was excruciating, my husband is handicapped which made for a horrible experience … aside from that like I said the view is perfect and the fishing was great … the inside also needs some tlc

Peaceful Getaway

The property was clean and well stocked. We loved the peaceful location and enjoyed reading out on the deck. Deda was quick to respond to a couple of questions that he had. Definitely would stay here again!

Serene, quite peaceful lake. Zero sounds of traffic. So quiet we had to put on soft music. Very healthy ecosystem at the lake, turtles, dragonflies and lilly pads near the house making it not appropriate for swimming. So we went to the delightful Swiftwater Bridge swimming hole 5 minutes down the road. (You need to be sure footed to make it down the path there.) The lake house is 2 flights of stairs down from the parking area. This must be an historic cabin to be over the water. A privilege to experience it. Obviously you will be spending most of your time on the West facing deck. We only saw neighbors on the weekend. So the only ding I gave the property was because I had to clean the microwave, the stove knobs, the kitchen tablecloth had crumbs so I basically did a kitchen wipe down (with their wipes) and then I was good to go. K cup machine needs de-scaling so we bought a French press. And bathroom is elbow knocking small. A small shelf over the sink would be helpful. Bed seemed to be a permanent Murphy bed? Wasn't bad at first but over the week the 6 inches of soft foam on the mattress started to ache a bit. Overall the week was serene and therapeutic. I hated to leave.

Great relaxing stay

It was cute and perfect. We spent alot of time just chilling on the deck just watching the loons and geese. You could watch turtles come near the dock too. Great place for a couple to stay!

Very nice! Can’t be closer to the water

I really enjoyed this place! I loved the turtles and the loons. Great views and beautiful sunsets. The only complaint I have is the windows were fairly dirty, and kept from having the best view of the water.

Hello Shannon, Yes, the window over by the desk is not the cleanest. The window is old, and it is hard to reach to clean as it is over the water. When the water level drops during the summer, we try and give it a good cleaning. So glad you had a nice stay otherwise.

Great place to relax and watch nature

My fiancé and I both loved our stay. We are still talking about how peaceful it was just sitting on the deck looking out at the water while listening to loons, frogs, and fish. We were lucky enough to be greeted by a bald eagle twice over our first two days. We would not hesitate to stay here again.

Awesome place

Property was exactly what we were looking for a perfect weekend getaway locations. The deck view over the pond is incredible and the cabin was neat and well maintained. Owners were very thorough throughout the the entire process and made sure any and all questions were answered promptly. We will be back!

Beautiful location!

The cottage was very clean and nicely decorated! The kitchen is well equipped and the bed is super comfortable. We enjoyed watching the loons and turtles while taking in the stunning view from the deck. Communication with Deda was very pleasant. I hope I can go back next year!

Beautiful views and so peaceful

This property was full of charm and peacefulness. It was well stocked with all the things you often forget when traveling. The only thing I didnt see was a fire alarm.

The Deck is all you need

Perfect Getaway!

This short stay was for our mini-moon after getting married. We loved it. The cabin was the perfect size for us and I love sitting outside or on the bench seat overlooking the water. We saw the loons each day. It has great amenities, the bed was comfy and the whole process was easy from start to finish. Thank you!

Peaceful getaway

The whole experience in this area of New Hampshire was just what my wife and I needed. The cabin and pond were so tranquil and peaceful with a ton of activities to do in the surrounding area. We went zip lining and hiked lost river gorge. Also got a fishing license and found shed right off the porch. Wonderful setting and everything was just as advertised. A perfect getaway for two

Could not stay

We checked in as scheduled but could not stay in the cottage. The smell of mold was overwhelming and, we felt, not good for our health.

Thank you for your response. This is a first notation about mold smell I have had in the years hosting this cottage. I went the next day to check, and there were no issues, no odor nor any visible mold. I know this guest mentioned he has respiratory problems, so perhaps a vacation on the water, especially during a wet spring, is not the best place to vacation. I am yet to receive any other complaints about mold. I have had many guests this year since Doug visited. I am sorry this didn't work out for Douglas and his guest, but there were no issues with the cottage. If there was, I would gladly have corrected it.
