Welcome to The Hill, . Enjoy your stay!


Our house on the hill is located just a couple miles from downtown Anacortes, Fidalgo Island. Also 1 mile from one of the most beautiful Lakes in Anacortes, Whistle lake. This lake offers lots of beautiful trails for hiking, biking, jogging, Cliff jumping, paddle boarding, kayaking, and fishing.
The house itself is on 2.5 acres mostly surrounded by forest, It is very private, with only a few neighbors close by. Our 3 bedroom 2 bath house offers an open floor plan, living room upstairs with large kitchen and dining room, a master bedroom and bathroom as well.
Downstairs you'll find 2 bedrooms, 1 bathroom, a family room, and laundry room. Also a wonderful feature is the hot tub located just outside on the lower deck.
There is plenty of open deck space to enjoy relaxing and watching the waterfall and the majestic view of Mt. Baker. In the evening you'll enjoy sitting around the huge fire pit located on the north side of the house.
You'll want to bring your paddle boards, blow up flotation devices, fishing gear, bikes and hiking shoes, while you enjoy time at the lake.
With only a short hike to the lake, you'll avoid the traffic at this popular summer hot spot.
Just a short distance away the town of Anacortes provides a wonderful array of fine dining, beach access, fun shopping!
About a twenty minute drive west you"ll find the Washington state ferries. This popular adventure is a must!!
Your stay on the hill will be an experience you'll want to come back to year after year.

Really nice spot with great views and lots of space to congregate. A little slim in the kitchen as far as utensils, bowls, etc, but for a smaller group (5-7) it was everything we needed.

Wonderful stay, excellent value for money!

We travelled as a family of 6 for 2 weeks, and we stayed in several VRBO and Airbnb properties. This property was considered as being on top, or very close on top on our list of properties. The house has a wonderful deck with a great view (don`t look too low as to see the refinery!), very spacious (we could spread out), we received a lovely welcoming gift (THANK YOU!) and the owners were very helpful with recommendations on the ferries to the islands. I would recommend this property to everyone who travels to Anacortes.

Great stay

We had a great time in Anacortes. The house is beautiful and even nicer than the photos. The only complaint from our friends was that there was no soundsproofing between the upstairs and downstairs, but what can you do. Overall, this place is amazing and it was a perfect weekend of relaxation. We even found our way to the lake despite getting lost the first time. Also, word to the wise, arrive before dark - the house is almost impossible to find unless you’re up for a bit of an adventure haha. Thanks again!

Wonderful!!

The house is very cozy and spacious. The views are awesome and we saw an abundance of wildlife. The trails around the house are nice too. Overall a great first expience to the northwest. The only issue we had was the lock in the door but it would open after several tries. Could’ve been operator error!!! Thxs again!!!!

A wonderful get-away! Views over the trees toward the water make you feel like you're in a treehouse. The nighttime views of the sparkling lights are magical. The home was adequately stocked in kitchen, bedrooms & bathrooms. Lots of games supplied. Two nice TVs for movie nights, comfortable sofas. Comfortable beds and pillows, too. One toilet backed up and the owner was there within an hour to fix it - even left a heavy-duty plunger in case it happened again (it didn't.) The house was fully cleaned, sanitized and empty for 24-hours before we arrived. Definately find your way to the lake (a long walk there if you're a hiker, drive to the parking lot for normal people!) The lake hike is beautiful and the trails are well-maintained. Will be coming back here for sure!

Perfect Home for San Juans Getaway

From the moment you drive up to this secluded spot, you realize pictures don't do it justice. The hot tub is so much nicer than most and the fire pit is well-constructed and safe. The home itself is nicely updated and clean ... we cooked a couple of meals in the well-stocked kitchen and grilled one night. The rooms are comfortable and there are multiple gathering spots: upstairs living room, downstairs den, kitchen-adjacent table and the deck. The owners are very responsive and even offered to drop off a hair dryer (even though it was not listed as an amenity). The location is great ... not too far from the ferry terminal, Deception Pass or downtown Anacortes. Most importantly it is close to The Store ... a small, but great wine shop which happens to have the best muffins I have ever had. You get a lot for the price which is not burdened with a lot of additional fees you see so often. I highly recommend this home and would stay here again were we to return to the area.

Awesome Sauce!

Parents visited and wanted to go whale watching. Booked this place for 2 nights and was NOT disappointed. Spacious 3 bedroom house on top of a hill with awesome views. I slept downstairs and was able to open my window and fall asleep to the sound of the waterfall on both nights. My parents slept on the main floor in the master bedroom and they loved it. Perfect! One tiny little complaint. The carpet on the stairs is a bit worn and there is no handrail. I'm a tall guy and was going down first thing in the morning half awake with socks on and hot coffee in my hand. Took a bad step and my foot slipped and I feel on my back and hot coffee went all over the place. I take half the blame for that though ;). Glad it didn't happen to one of my parents. Just be careful.

Amazing Wedding Weekend

Due to COVID-19 we had to scramble to change all of our wedding plans a month before the wedding. We decided to keep our wedding date and have a small ceremony at Washington Park with just our family and a couple close friends. We got ready together at The Hill and it was SO perfect for our needs. The boys got ready downstairs and the girls upstairs with the beautiful view from the huge dining table. We did our first look by the gorgeous pond and felt like we were in a scene from a movie. We loved the secluded feel of the location. In being fully honest, there were a few minor cleanliness issues but with such a large house it didn’t really bother us. I would highly recommend The Hill for a family get together or group of friends.

Could not get over how much space there was. So nice to be in a place that had large rooms to play games and enjoy each other in as well as be able to have some me time. Super close to Whistle Lake, but does require you to hike about 10min so. bring a wagon if you wanna take stuff with you. Hot tub was perfect and the view Of Mt Baker was beautiful.

Great for family gathering!

Great for the family holiday. We will keep this listing in mind for future gatherings. Please add more pots and pans though (with lids) - fortunately we only live 10 min away and could go home and get some. Also the time to open the door after inputting the combination was too short 👽 everyone loved the place and the Christmas tree added a festive note.

The property was very clean and comfortable. The location was private and had a great view. The house was big and the facilities were very useful. There is also a short hike to the lake which was very beautiful and relaxing. The owners had left wine and coffee to make us feel very welcome. I would most definitely be going back again.

Why they chose this property

Doug and I found this property 6 years ago when he was looking to locate here, when we stumbles upon it, 6 years ago we knew it was the one! We fell in love with it and it was purchased within a couple months!

As you sit on the deck watching the sun come up, or hot tub in the evening while your ending your day, you'll find the peace and tranquility you deserve. Relax and enjoy!
