Water's Edge truly has a million dollar view. Few other cabins could possibly offer such a beautiful setting, sitting in the bend of the ELLIJAY RIVER, and looking far downstream. 3 king bedrooms-each with TV's, 2 baths. FENCED yard, screened porch with electric fireplace and 55" TV. Dog friendly. Managed by Sliding Rock Cabins. Why not roast S'mores in the riverside firepit, maybe try your hand at fly-fishing, soak in the large hot tub or just laze the day away in the waterside hammock listening to the calming waters. You can even tube to your cabin, or pan for gold. Later snuggle up in front of the gas log fireplace and watch an old movie. Whatever you decide you're sure to enjoy the tranquility and peacefulness of rustic Water's Edge. NO CHILDREN UNDER THE AGE OF 8 YEARS OLD.

So relaxing

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: This was one of the most relaxing vacations ever. The sound of the rapids removed all the stress, better than a massage. The only reason the location did not get a 5 is the fact there is a cabin right next door and the privacy fence only goes so far and there is very limited privacy when you are in the fenced yard.

Beautiful Views

The yard is large and well fenced for the three dogs we brought along. It is well laid out for pet owners. The gas grill was clean and ready to use. For me, I wish the couches sat higher up. It was hard on my knees. The kitchen is small if you are a cook, but you can make it work. Very relaxing and I would stay again.

Not so peaceful river stay.

Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: My husband and I brought our dog for a peaceful week celebrating our wedding anniversary. The neighborhood and the cabin had other plans. Starting from the first morning of our stay, and continuing throughout our entire reservation, the cabin above us on the hill had construction noise from 8am until around 4pm. Power washing, chain saws, mowers and blowers, and hammers and drills. Every single day. We could not enjoy being outside in/by the river as planned. Inside the cabin left a lot to be desired as well. There was a very strong odor of ammonia present inside. I believe there may have been a dead animal in the crawl space. The smell worsened as the a/c came on, so we tried to leave the windows and doors open as much as possible. We also purchased air fresheners to attempt to mask the odor, unsuccessfully. Aside from the smell, there was also a layer of dirt on the floor that caused us to want to keep our shoes on while walking inside. We even found old dog toys under the couch as further evidence that the cabin had not been properly cleaned before our stay. The first floor bathroom toilet seat showed an unacceptable amount of wear and missing paint. The blinds are old and tangled so they cannot be opened properly. The furniture on the screened in porch was terribly uncomfortable but appeared to be brand new. Spending a few more dollars to get quality cushions would have gone a long way in making the best view from the cabin a lot more comfortable. Another issue that we encountered was a lack of privacy. The photos make the cabin seem very isolated. However, there is another cabin just feet away from the yard on the hot tub side of the house, as well as the cabin above Waters Edge that is clearing a pathway all the way down to the river on the other side. With all that being said, Waters Edge does provide a well stocked kitchen, modern appliances, and quality linens. We also felt the communications with the staff were all prompt and professional.

The river and view are incredible! Not a dealbreaker but the kitchen and third bedroom are tiny. It wasn’t a problem for us since we had a total of four people but if you have more, it would be quite “cozy”. Overall, it was a very enjoyable stay.

April 2023 Stay

My family and I had an amazing time! The cabin is absolutely beautiful. It did end up raining all day Saturday while we were there, but there was plenty of room on the back porch and inside for us to hang out and play card games. The cabin was very clean, right on the water, and had a fenced in back yard for our doggie. Definitely would recommend to others!

Amazing

The only downside was the driveway to the cabin, but worth the trip. My family and I were able to play in the river, fish and explore the river. The beds were comfortable. I would definitely recommend this cabin. We plan to visit this cabin again.
