Fantastic log home within walking distance to Raystown Lake, only minutes from marina and boat launch. Plenty of room for your family and friends with amenities such as a pool table, ping pong, free wifi, fire pit, and large sports court for basketball, tennis, volleyball, etc. (Sports court is on the property and private, it is not shared by others) Fully stocked kitchen with grill for outside cooking. Four large bedrooms (one is a bunk room for kids) with 3 and a half baths. Large open concept great room/kitchen/dining area where the whole family can meet and relax. Basement rec room also has a flat screen smart tv with cable. Located on a ridge top with easy access to surrounding activities and only 4.5 miles from Huntingdon with grocery store, restaurants, gas station, etc. You can walk to Raystown lake from house in about 10 minutes. Sleeps 12 guests, rates are up to 8 guests, there is an extra guest charge for guests 9-12 and is calculated once you select dates. Great room has a masonry fireplace shown in pictures, we do not allow guests to use fireplace without special permission, please let us know if you have questions. There is an outdoor security camera that covers the driveway area, it is not pointed towards any interior space.

Great property! We were in the area for a weekend wedding so didn’t get to enjoy the home as much as we wanted - so we’re planning a trip back for Friendsgiving! Great amenities and gathering spaces. Got owner suggestion for restaurant and that was also great. Highly recommend!

Wonderful Time for all ages

Great Place to Reconnect with Friends

My family and two others have been going here for several years. Its our yearly trip. This house has been our go to as its perfectly setup for our families. We love the sports court....keeps the kids busy so we can have adult time.

Fun and cozy

We had a wonderful winter weekend. Beautiful cabin in a beautiful setting. Our young kids and their cousins loved hiking down to the lake, the bunk bed room, basketball court, fire pit, ping pong and so many extra toys and board games which were thoughtfully placed throughout. We made some great memories- thank you!

Perfect place for a getaway for all ages

This was our third stay at the property and we hope to return next year. There is plenty of room for all 3 generations of our family to be together for meals, socializing, and activities. Yet, there is also room for different groups to separate for a change of pace. The cabin is very quiet and secluded which is especially nice after a day at the lake. The cabin is spotless and the host is responsive. It's nice that towels and sheets (in sealed bags) are provided.

Great mountain getaway

We had an absolute blast at this home. Everything we needed was there and it was easy to find. We used all of the amenities... sports court, ping pong, pool table, fire pit, decks, BBQ, etc. The place slept our large group comfortably and it was a snap to get to the lake for a swim. It was the first time some of our group visited Raystown and they are already planning a return trip to this house with their families. The owners were very responsive to our questions and had everything ready for us when we arrived. We hope to book again soon!

Wonderful experience!

Heron’s Cove was a perfect place for our family to stay as our daughter was graduating from Juniata College! The space, both indoor and outdoor, lended itself well to our needs. Over the course of the long weekend, we played on the outdoor court, had fires at the fire pit, walked to the lake, played ping pong and pool, cornhole, and cooked in the well equipped kitchen for the many meals we shared as a family. The bedroom and bathroom spaces were fantastic as well as the huge covered porch and expansive deck! The owners were thoughtful and responsive in helping us set up the trip. They thought of everything in meeting the needs of their guests! We would strongly recommend others to consider and we plan to find another reason to visit Heron’s Cove in the future!

All was fine until the end

This rental was beautiful and just as listed. I’d have no complaints except when we left we were told the guest book couldn’t be found. I told the owner the two places we placed it before leaving. A week or so later I got a message saying I’d be charged x dollars for the missing book. Because they couldn’t find it and it cost x for the new one. Rounded to x for inconvenience. Now I understand it’s unfortunate that it couldn’t be found at this time. However, we didn’t take it and the book could still be there somewhere… I wasn’t asked to replace it or even shown a receipt for how much the old book was. I wasn’t even asked to replace it. Being told to pay an amount for a notebook that can’t be found was off putting and would make me think twice about booking places. It wasn’t as if something was stolen, like an expensive blender or television. I can guarantee we did not remove the book from the house. He also said my toddler (who’s 1.5) could have taken it or thrown it in the garbage? So, if you book this place. Maybe getting the damage protection in case they decide something is a damage. Even the vrbo representative agreed with me🤷‍♀️ Not allowed to post the amount according to VRBO

The cabin was perfect for our group. We were only there for a quick weekend and were sorry we had to leave before we had had a chance to truly enjoy everything the house and its surroundings had to offer. The kitchen was well-equipped and the beds were comfortable. Communication with the owners was easy and efficient. I recommend this cabin to anyone who enjoys nature and tranquility, especially for longer stays.

This was the second time we stayed at Herons Cove and it was another great experience. The house is so nice inside but the outside setup is even better. The fire pit, outside deck and patio, and sport court were fun places to hang out with friends. Chris is a great host and made sure everything was right for our stay. We will be back again.

Host was very good about responding to questions, we were able to check in early. The house was absolutely gorgeous and very clean. It felt very homey as soon as we got there. There were 8 in our party and everyone was able to enjoy the common spaces comfortably as well as the sleeping spaces. The only issue we had was the grill igniter wasn’t working.

Great lake house

The open floor plan on the main level is great for gathering. Everything was clean, and the kitchen is well stocked. I like that the main level half bath can be locked off from the en suite bathroom connected to the queen bedroom. It gives a common half bath for everyone to use. I highly recommend! Thank you!

This is a great property for a family or 2 with lots of indoor and outdoor space. Its within walking distance to Raystown Lake where you can launch a kayak or just swim. Also a short drive to Alligrippis trail system for hiking and mountain biking. 7 Points recreation area is only 10 minutes away with boat launch and rentals and beach area for swimming. Don't miss Trough Creek State park with beautiful hiking trails featuring a swinging bridge and waterfall. Whether you are looking for exciting outdoor activities off the property or just want to sit around a camp fire and make smores, this place is for you.
