Exceptional Riverfront Cabin Retreat near Black Mountain & Asheville, NC
Settle into this one-of-a-kind riverbend vacation cabin near Black Mountain, NC, perched at the headwaters of the pristine Broad River in the heart of the Blue Ridge Mountains. Leave the world behind in this secluded natural paradise — private, peaceful, and just minutes from the best of Western North Carolina. You are within 25-35 minutes of Asheville, the Biltmore Estate, Black Mountain, Montreat, Hendersonville, Chimney Rock, and Lake Lure so you can disconnect, but also have gigabit fiber internet available if you need to stay connected.
Turn onto the tree-lined, hidden driveway and the Broad River comes into view, curving gently in front of the home. The river winds down the mountain through a lush canopy of dogwood, hemlock, and black walnut across the 2½-acre property. Hummingbirds put on an endless show at the two porch feeders with occasional cameo appearances by critters such as groundhogs who could easily be mistaken for a misplaced plushie. Surrounded by woods and wildlife, the river is your only visible neighbor.
Take in the sights and sounds of the river from the rocking chairs, porch swing, or dining table for four on the full-length porch. Wander down to the overlook deck for a closer view, or all the way to the river's edge. Cool your feet, sun yourself on a granite outcropping, or cast a line for native trout. Above all, relax and let routine stress melt away. Great for families.

My family had a great time! Everything was very clean. We really enjoyed tubing down the river, fishing, and sitting on the porch during thunder storms. It was a great place to unplug and unwind for a few days.
We loved our stay at this cozy, secluded cabin on the river. It’s private and peaceful, yet close enough to Black Mountain and Lake Lure to enjoy everything the area has to offer. One of our favorite things was taking our chairs down to the river, wading in the water, and just relaxing. The cabin itself is warm, comfortable, well-appointed, and has everything you need for a great getaway. As my wife likes to say, it really is a little slice of heaven. We’d definitely stay here again!
The listing photos of the view/river do not do the beauty of this property any justice! The river and river access was INCREDIBLE! We were excited for our trip, but upon arrival we were BLOWN AWAY. As we have two young boys who love to run wild and free, we will be returning every year!
The cabin is more spacious than the pictures make it look. One bedroom is on the back of the house and we were able to fit a travel crib in it, which was nice because we could be on the porch enjoying the river view and not wake the baby. River was great to play in for both the 5yo and the toddler (with constant supervision, rocks are slippery!). It was extremely low due to the drought which meant we could explore some sand bars and watch fiah get caught up in the eddies. Tubes and kids fishing poles were provided. We tied a rope to a tube and had fun dragging the kids around. Definitely bring water shoes. We'll be coming back!
The house was beautiful and so was the view. It was nice and cool while we were there. My advice to anyone packing to go there though they should take warm clothes and cool clothes. But only because of the weather not the house. It was very cozy, warm and inviting. I love the windows and especially the birdfeeder outside of the window. I hope to get to go again.
Our entire family enjoyed our stay at this Broad River cabin. We walked in and immediately liked the vibe. The cabin has a modern decor and the furniture was comfy. The cozy blankets were bonus! The bird feeders are great and we enjoyed watching the hummingbirds and cardinals. The kitchen had everything that we needed to easily prepare each meal. The access to the river was easy and my guys enjoyed fishing and exploring the river while my daughter and I chilled out in the swing. The location of the cabin made it easy to explore western NC area. We went for a hike at Catawba Falls, we went tubing in Asheville, and went into Black Mountain for the 4th of July festivities. Our entire family gave our stay 5 out of 5 stars!
This is a great place for a peaceful getaway. We loved listening to the sounds of the river. It is about a 20 minute drive to get to grocery store, etc so take that into account when you go out/plan your day. The house has everything you need including lots of games and puzzles. We wished we would have stayed longer and definitely would stay here again.
This property was absolutely beautiful. We could have sat by the river all day. Our teens loved playing in the water and we greatly appreciated the tubes to float in too! The house was clean, cozy and big enough for our family of 5. It was also well stocked with everything we needed. Communication was easy and hosts were friendly. Would love to come back sometime! As stated in another review keep in mind that stores and restaurants are about 20 minutes away, in case that is a problem for anyone. We enjoyed the privacy though. No neighbors in sight. Just the river and some pretty neat fireflies at night!
This is a fantastic spot. We loved the view and sitting on the swing near the river. The large dining table was the perfect spot to put together a big puzzle, but it would also be great for a big family. We like this place so much that this was our second stay at the cabin, and we hope to visit again in the years to come.
The cabin was perfect for what we were looking for. It is a very quiet, secluded section of heaven! We enjoyed sitting on the porch drinking coffee and on the lower deck listening to nature. My husband enjoyed wading and fishing in the river. Amazing place!
Extremely private, well maintained property. Nice furniture, amenities, obvious that the hosts put care into providing a great experience. Will be back again.
This place was awesome, very private, great place to just relax on a nice flowing river. If anyone is looking for a place to get away, this is the place. I would definitely go back to this location.
We had an amazing time during our stay. It's the perfect place to put away the devices and enjoy the outdoors and each others company. It has a well stocked kitchen! Which was heaven!10/10 we will definitely be back!
The cabin was perfect for our long weekend stay for two couples. Great spaces and relaxing on the porch and deck with the stream below was so relaxing! Great food options in both Lake Lure and Black Mountain. Thanks for a wonderful place to stay!
My wife Marilyn and I truly enjoyed the peace and quiet. We loved that there were no neighbors. Two of our favorite spots were the living room chair by the window (lots of sunshine pouring through) perfect for snuggling and napping!!! Same for the deck with the Adirondack chairs/covered swing...lots of sunshine...great place to unwind and relax!!!
We had an amazing week at Broad River Cabin!
The location and river access were a dream, and plenty of room for our family of 5. Short (windy) drive to Black Mountain, Asheville, and Chimney Rock/Lake Lure if looking for more to do.
Very relaxing, we had a wonderful time. The location is remote and private. The river runs behind the home and is peaceful and inviting. The living space has all the necessities and room for an active family of 6-8. The owners are nice and responsive.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay! The view and water is awesome!!! The cabin is so comfy and inviting. Our stay exceeded our expectations!❤️❤️❤️
