Our Venetian home is situated at the heart of the world's most romantic city on fashionable Giudecca Island. It consists of a dining room with a sitting area and kitchen with a lovely canal view. There is one double bedroom and bathroom with shower. The apartment is ideal for a couple. The maximum capacity of the apartment is 2 people.

Experience real Venetian life on Giudecca Island. This is a quiet part of Venice that feels like it is a long way from the hurly burly of the city. It is however only a 10 minute boat ride from St Mark's Square. Giudecca is a fashionable part of Venice and home to the Cipriani Hotel, the Hilton Hotel and Harry's Dolci. Several well known celebrities own apartments here and George & Amal Clooney chose Giudecca as the location for their wedding.

Do try the wonderful restaurants that are nearby. There are several within walking distance to suit most budgets. There is a well-stocked supermarket 2 minutes from the apartment.

The vaparetto (water bus) runs 24/7 year round. It is the most convenient way of getting around. Please note that there are no roads in Venice so car parking is not provided!

The apartment was featured in A Place In The Sun magazine, issue 16 (June 2005) and mentioned in the Sunday Express on 16th October 2005 and the Financial Times on 5th November 2005.

The owner (Neil) will be your first point of contact when you make your reservation and he will then hand over the booking arrangements to his agent. A local agent will meet you to let you into the apartment and hand over the keys. The agent also would deal with any problems arising during your stay. Our agent does not offer a 24 hour service for greeting new arrivals so please aim to arrive at the apartment by no later than 9:00pm.

Guests will be provided with detailed directions to the apartment from both airports (Marco Polo and Treviso) and the railway station.

The apartment was perfect for our Venice visit! We enjoyed the location at Giudecca and the nice view over the little side canal. San Marco is only a few minutes ride with the vaporetto No 2. The apartement is equiped with everything you need. The organization with the propietor and agent was efficiently and very friendly. We can strongly recommend it and would book it again for another stay in Venice.

Perfect apartment in every way

It was great to see the antiques in Venice - without living in one! Neil's apartment was built in 2003 so everything is modern and works properly. Great location! We were always happy to get back to the apartment. It's away from the crowds, on a small canal and very relaxing. This apartment is on the island of Giudecca, south of the main group of islands that make up central Venice. You will need bus and water transportation to get there from the airport, (there is a small bridge with steps that require lifting your luggage.) The water taxi's are expensive, but can help you with your luggage. We purchased the 7 day water bus pass for 60 euros and went to the Grand Canal sights several times, toured the nearby islands of Murano, Burano, Cimiterro di San Michele and Lido. Reminder: there are no wheeled vehicles on the main Venice islands. This apartment was the perfect location, quality and price for us.

Das Appartement liegt auf der vorgelagerten Insel Giudecca, welche perfekt mit den Vaporettos zu erreichen ist. Man hat eine traumhafte Aussicht auf einen der Kanäle, insgesamt sehr ruhig gelegen. Das Appartement liegt im etwas höher gelagerten Erdgeschoss, da aber in einem Neubau gelegen, nicht feucht. Wir waren zu dritt unterwegs, die dritte und auch vierte Schlafmöglichkeit sind jeweils aufblasbare Luftmatratzen, was wir nicht als ausreichende Schlafmöglichkeit ansehen, daher würde ich dieses Appartement nur für 2 Personen empfehlen. Im Schlafzimmer befindet sich keine Klimaanlage und zusätzlich eine warme Decke aufgezogen, dies war im Juli durchaus sehr warm in der Nacht. Der Gesamteindruck ist modern. Die Begrüßung der betreuenden Person kühl und distanziert. Die Sauberkeit ließ zu wünschen übrig.

Appartement bien situé, propre, cuisine correctement fournie pour 3 personnes. Proche du vaporetto (5 minutes). Supermarket COOP très proche et CONAD a l'arrêt San Basilio (vaporetto No 2 deuxième arrêt après Palanca direction P.Roma) ouvert le dimanche toute la journée. Seul bémol le lit double en 140 de large est une mesure inhabituellement étroite en Italie (surtout pour des personnes un peu fortes) ou la norme est 160 voire 180 (90 X 2).

Why they chose this property

I have always loved Venice for its architecture, its heritage and its canals. Venice is a delight to the senses and it is so full of life and unexpected events that it is always surprising, no matter how many times you visit. It is of course a city of romance and famous monuments, but it is also so much more, especially if you manage to escape the well-worn areas around San Marco and Rialto and head for the lesser-known areas of the city such as San Polo or Cannaregio. Isola della Giudecca (where the apartment is situated) is just a few minutes away from San Marco and Dorsoduro, yet it is nonetheless a haven of peace and splendid isolation. Giudecca has Palladian churches and it is the home of top quality restaurants and hotels including the Cipriani hotel and Harry's Dolci. It also has a range of budget and medium level restaurants. The island of Giudecca enjoys panoramic views of the southern lagoon, which can also be seen from the apartment. To the north there is a spectacular view of the church of Santa Maria di Salute, which lies on the opposite bank of the Giudecca Canal. The Doge's Palace and the Campanile on St Mark's Square can be seen easily across the Bacino di San Marco.

The world famous Venice Carnival takes place in February. There are other festivals at various times of the year including the film festival, the Regatta Storico, the spectacular Redentore festival and the Biennale exhibition.
