A peaceful cabin retreat nestled on 95 acres of private woodland property. This locally-sourced oak-sided cabin offers natural serenity and is the perfect place to unplug and get away. This property boasts a totally private hot tub and fire pit area surrounded by acres of bamboo, exposed rock and woods. Enjoy a delicious beverage on the wrap around deck, with multiple sitting areas, the second story deck or in the amazing hot tub. Discover our exposed rock overhangs (a mini Hocking Hills) and visit our woodland pond (plenty of bass and bluegill). Naturalists study this area due to it's fantastic biodiversity.

This warm and inviting cabin is nestled in a private setting down a long, flat and accessible driveway.

This get away consists of three bedrooms: two bedrooms and a large master loft. The master loft has a king-size bed, bamboo flooring, it's own bathroom, private second story deck area and a sitting area for leisure reading. Downstairs, the "Bollywood bedroom" features queen-sized, silk sari-draped canopy bed with cozy, pillowy bedding. The second downstairs bedroom consists of a full-size bed and a twin bed and sleeps three comfortably.

The living room and dining area are surrounded by windows providing wonderful views of this private and scenic setting. The space is warm and inviting, clean and accommodating. It is perfect for a romantic getaway for two or for a memorable friends and family gathering. A fantastic choice for those visiting Ohio University, Athens or visiting to the Hocking Hills region.

There are so many wonderful things to do in the area. Take a left out of the long driveway and the road leads directly to Athens, Ohio and Ohio University (a 13 minute drive). The city of Athens features eclectic dining and features 22 pubs in the energetic uptown area alone. Ohio University is one of the most beautiful and oldest college campuses in the United States.

Take a right out of the driveway and arrive (a 23 minute drive) at Ash Cave in the gorgeous Hocking Hills State Park.

Cross the street and enter into Waterloo Wildlife Area featuring thousands of acres of nature’s bounty, fishing and public hunting. The historic and haunted Moonville tunnel is a nearby for a memorable experience. Horseback riding is available in the area at Uncle Bucks riding stable. Visit gorgeous Lake Hope Lodge for hiking, canoeing and an incredible dining experience (you have got to try the smores).

Beautiful scenic place

This place is beautiful. Hot tub was wonderful. It was very clean and decorated to our style. Love the primative tables and the wood shiplap. Love the decorations of pottery. Loved the lights around the japenese maple on the patio.

Weekend getaway for NMF

Great location for our weekend attending Nelsonville Music Festival! Close to both Hocking Hills and Athens. The cabin was just as described and the A/C was fabulous after long, hot days in the sun! Lauren was always reponsive and helpful. I would definitely stay again!

Great place to stay

We enjoyed our girls trip. Location of the cabin was perfect to go to Ash Cave, Old Mans Cave, Moonville Tunnel and to OU Campus. We enjoyed the private hiking trails at the cabin too!

The cabin was exactly the title...a little slice of heaven. We got there and it immediately took our breath away. We walked into a gorgeous and spacious home which had everything we needed! All you truly need to bring is food and yourself! The little details of everything that you need or might need, showed how thoughtful these owners are! I would recommend if you need to see heaven on earth for yourself. We will be coming back!

Great weekend cabin getaway

Cozy little cabin with easy access to ohio university and hocking hills! The owners were very accommodating and responsive to all our needs! Clean, private, and all the amenities needed for the weekend! The hottub and fire pit were a bonus for winding down the day! Looking forward to our next stay!

We had a great time! Location is perfect, hot tubs the best and the property managers were courteous and always available. Really close to Athens but far enough away to enjoy the stars in a clear night.

Great rental great owners. We hiked the property and adventures daily to local outdoor locals. Drove into Athens for dinner and music. Property is amazing and beautiful. Visit the fairy forest! Thanks for a great stay

Quiet very relaxing

Our stay was great. The cabin, hot tub and the peace and quit was just what we needed. This cabin is located close to a lot of hiking trails. We sat in the hot tub at night and watched meteors streak across the sky. There is not much light pollution so the stars were very bright.

The property was beautiful. Quiet. A cardinal would come to visit at the window, which has a deeper meaning for me. The host, ABSOLUTELY AMAZING! Messaged back quickly and was very easy to talk to. We will definitely be back!

Great place to stay

My family of 4 plus our black lab loved the cabin and its location. We were in the area for my daughters orientation at OU, the cabin was only about 14 min drive from campus. We enjoyed the bon fires and fishing at the pond where my son caught several kinds of fish and we saw multiple turtles. We also enjoyed watching the birds and other wildlife from the big windows in the front room.

The last weekend of our honeymoon! It was awesome!

After we went up to Michigan's upper peninsula to see pictured rocks we then came to here to visit hocking hills SP. The cabin was the best part of our honeymoon. It was cozy, private and just quaint! We loved it. The house was very comfortable with a host who thought if everything! 5 stars all around!♡

Home away from home.

This cabin was perfect for our anniversary getaway. My husband and I celebrated our 15th anniversary and the other couple was celebrating their 10th. This cabin had enough space for each couple to spread out for alone time as well as reconnect with friends. We are already planning to take our 2 children to enjoy everything the area has to offer. My only complaint, Sunday came way too fast.

A lovely cabin in the woods

The home is comfortable. It's proximity to the nature preserve was awesome and gave us ample opportunity for hiking. We enjoyed the fire pit and hot tub. It is very private. We had issues with mice in the house, though the host was apologetic and stated they would clean thoroughly after our stay. That was our only issue. Otherwise we enjoyed our stay.

Birthday girls weekend getaway

It needs a little yard work around the place it's March I understand just getting out of winter. The electrical system needs addressed. To many extension cords, fuses blowing and lights dimming or flickering when turned on. Needs a bit better cleaning of stove, lights, collectibles with a 100 cleaning fee Hot tub half worked with the jets and felt a little slimy on the sides in the water. Didn't smell any chlorine. We were told second set of keys were coming but they never did arrive. We ended up using a different door. We were really grossed out to find rugs were washed with the towels in the dryer. The house is cute and roomy enough for a few people which is nice if you have a lot of guest. That is a plus. Also two full bathrooms. Plenty of parking also.. niceiyohave5 or 6 peopliyiparty.was

Nice relaxing stay

We enjoyed our weekend at this cabin especially being able to bring our dog. My favorite part was all of the various local artwork used to decorate - which is available for sale - great idea! Location was close to Athens where our son attends OU - nice to find a place closer than Logan or Hocking Hills where we usually stay when we visit him. Cabin is nothing fancy but had everything we needed and was clean. Only issue and word of warning that if you go in the winter, the family room is quite chilly - much more so than the rest of the cabin - the bedrooms are warm but there is quite a temperature difference between the rest of the cabin and the front/family room. It has an electric fireplace/space heater, but even with that you should pack some slippers and cozy clothes to wear if you plan to visit in the winter. It was quite cold the weekend we were there (in the 20s) so it's probably fine when it's more moderate weather. Overall nice stay and would recommend!

Fun in Hocking Hills

We stayed at this cabin for 3 nights. I had my 2 daughters and 4 grand kids ranging from 8-13 with me. It was our first time in Hocking Hills/area and we thoroughly enjoyed our time. The cabin was clean, comfortable, and plenty of space for our family of 7. Check in, check out process was quick and easy. The kitchen was well equipped. We had lunches on the front deck, dinners we enjoyed in the beautiful town of Athens. The location of the cabin was perfect to visit Old Man’s cave, Ash cave, Cedar Falls and other attractions. Each were about a 30 min drive through beautiful country. Athens was 10-15 min. drive. Drove to town of Logan on Friday but a number of stores were closed. Grandson enjoyed fishing in the pond even though he never caught anything. Adults and granddaughters liked sitting in the clean, comfortable hot tub. Had a small bonfire to make s’mores while listening to an owl hoot in tree right behind the cottage. Walked the groomed trails behind the cabin. All in all it was a wonderful stay and we all would recommend Andy and Lauren’s cabin.

Great place to unwind.

First and foremost, Lauren and Andy were amazing hosts! They were available to answer questions and help in a couple of situations. There had been some rain during the week and as my husband and I were leaving, we got stuck in some mud alongside the driveway. After letting Andy and Lauren know that we were still there and waiting on AAA, Andy came out with his truck and rescued us. He was so kind about it, not making us feel like silly city folk.😄 The cabin itself was wonderful. This was the perfect get-a-way for our family. We had nothing scheduled and plenty to do. The cabin was spacious and comfortable, inside and out. We were able to start our day on the deck, with coffee. The natural habitat was a great stage to watch hummingbirds, butterflies and. Dragonflies. During the day, we enjoyed Hocking hills, lake hope State park and trails behind the cabin. In the early evening, we took advantage of the pond, fishing, watching turtles and listening to the frogs. Games and family movie nights finished out most of our days. The rooms were comfortable. We usually try new locations and properties for our vacations but my husband and I, as well as my son and daughter-in-law, agreed that this would be worth visiting again in the future. Thank you for such a wonderful stay!

Lauren and Andy Dick moved to the Athens, Ohio area in 1994 to attend Ohio University and Hocking College. It was here that we fell in love with each other and the Southeastern Ohio Region. In 2000, we purchased our first beautiful four acres adjacent the to the Waterloo Wildlife and Research Area. Over the past 19 years we have continued to expand our ownership of more property in this magical place. As of May 2017, we celebrated our acquisition of additional acreage now totaling 81 acres.
It has been our dream to share the peace and serenity of Waterloo Woods with others who desire to get away from it all and rejuvenate. The newly renovated cabin on our property, as see here on VRBO, has made that dream a reality for us. We take great pride in assuring our guest stay in a private, clean, serene and welcoming environment.
