The cabin was fabulous!! We had a wonderful time making memories with our family. Great location and close to Hocking Hills state park and visitor’s center and the best hikes and features. We enjoyed the fire pit, hot tub, arcade games and relaxing in front of the fireplace and on the front porch! Greg was an excellent host and very responsive. We would definitely recommend this cabin and would stay here again.
Our family of 6 had an amazing stay in this cabin! We had so much room for all of us and we enjoyed the hot tub and fire pit. This cabin is very secluded...there are a couple of houses nearby but there were no issues with privacy that's for sure! This was our first trip to HH with our 8 month old so we brought a baby gate with us to block off the stairs and that was perfect! What a great place to escape city life, Thank you Greg!
Although a bit remote (that may be a plus or a minus, depending on what you plan to do), the cabin was wonderful, and the hosts were excellent. We will certainly try to stay there again!
We had a wonderful stay at this lovely secluded cabin! It was the perfect place to slow down & enjoy some peaceful time surrounded by beautiful scenery. The cabin was cozy, comfortable, and all-around perfect. One of our favorite things about the location was how close it is to so many places to explore. We spent our days visiting nearby state parks, hiking, taking scenic drives, and enjoying the incredible natural beauty of the area. After a day of exploring, it was wonderful to come back to such a quiet & relaxing retreat (and hot tub!).Greg was also an excellent host—friendly, responsive, and made everything easy from start to finish. We truly enjoyed our time here & would happily stay again!
Besides some initial confusion - our experience and the quality of the cabin was top notch. The cabin was great in every way - the space, the aesthetics, the games, the kitchen wares, the hot tub, fire ring, fireplace, etc. We had some confusion as to which cabin and which driveway on arrival in the dark...BUT....great communication and friendly support from Greg got us straightened out. After that - all good. I don't rent enough to know how good or not of a bargain it was, but the cabin was everything it said it would be so we're happy. Very nice place and operation.
The details provided for directions and communication with hosts excellent. Cabin was clean and comfortable, we and family of 8 ( with 4 of our grandkids ) had enough space and options for being inside or on one of the porches which was wonderful to use for games and eating. It was a great retreat for a long weekend. It rained one day but we enjoyed our time with games and could be out on the covered porches. The path into the woods in the backyard was inviting and we did hike a bit but was not a main path but became overgrown. Close to Hocking Hills and Tar Hallow Pike lake, we hiked and fished. The drive in and out was tricky but the van and our suv did fine going slowly on the gravel to the secluded area. We had planned to eat our meals in the cabin but noticed several nice spots in Laurelville 15-20 minutes away. Thank you for a wonderful cabin vacation near our favorite hiking !!
Starting with the communication, to the check out- this property is exceptional in every way! The home is secluded on a gorgeous property, surrounded by nature woods. If you love a relaxing bonfire or a quiet private hot tub or a barbecue with friends on a covered private deck, this place is a must. Every inch of the cabin was clean, well equipped, and all ours. Regardless if youre a young couple or grandparents with grandkids, this is the place. 20 minutes to a grocery store, 20 minutes to the most popular State Park in Ohio, your have it all. Thank you Red Oak Retreats for the memories our family will always cherish!
Very secluded, clean, the caves r really cool, zip line it was a blast, would suggest to all!!!

Thank you so much for your kind review, Kelly! We’re so happy you found the room clean and communication easy throughout your stay. It’s great to hear the place worked well for your family too. We’d love to host you again anytime!
Everything was as described. We had an amazing stay over spring break. Our dogs loved exploring the trails on the property. The owners were super friendly, and even allowed us to modify our trip dates when we found out our son had a last minute soccer game. We can’t wait to come back again!
There were 8 of us in our party. Ages ranged from 16 - 73. The teens stayed downstairs and adults upstairs and it was perfect. Plenty of room, all the hot water you need, the weather was beautiful. I would suggest using a SUV to get there. We were in vans and sometimes questioned if we would make it up and down the roads. Very secluded. Never had a problem with the WIFI in the house. We were there during a big storm and lost power twice but with the cool weather we just ate and played games on the back porch. A really great getaway. Would definitely recommend. Greg was fantastic to work with. He notified me about the power outage before we even knew about it. My only complaint would be the roads, Very scary at times, but again, if you have an SUV it would probably not be that bad.
Hot tub was great…no lighting which was a little spooky but we managed. Very remote and quiet. Take your time as the roads there are narrow and bumpy. Excellent relaxing weekend! Little unexpected touches made it even better!! Would recommend for anyone wanting quiet time and genuine relaxation from the hustle and bustle of life.
The place was lovely, very secluded, and we had a relaxing stay. The Hocking hikes were nearby and the whole trip was the perfect pre-holiday get away. The house was stocked, welcoming, and we loved the separate movie area.
