About this property
A House on the Rocks
Built on the Rocks at the tip of the islands main town, in a quiet neighborhood this stylish villa is a family home with a proud tradition. Surrounded by blue waters on three sides, the experience of living in the villa is like being on a ship. The peace and tranquillity of the pedestrian-only location is interrupted only by the enchanting sound of the waves lapping the shore. A pleasant 8-minute walk through the culturally protected pedestrian area takes guests into Chora, with its museums, art galleries and cultural events, not to mention inviting cafes, bars and fine restaurants, at which they can enjoy the Andros famous cuisine. The villa is also within easy reach of beaches and ancient stone-paved footpaths, part of an 85-km network that criss-crosses the island, offering an amazing selection of walks. In addition, beach trips, fishing or sea excursions, boat rentals, trekking and sightseeing tours can be arranged upon request. Kamara House is ideal for family holidays and quality relaxation.
Description
Built in the 17th century by one of the island’s first shipping families, the two-storey villa has four double bedrooms, one twin, five bathrooms and a fully equipped kitchen.
The dining area, with a table for 8 to 12, adjoins the cosy living room with fireplace, which opens onto a covered patio. The spacious terraces around the house have amazing views of the sea and the nearby coast. Equipped with outdoor furniture, they are also perfect for socializing, sunbathing or relaxing under the stars.
The property is rented with full service, including cleaning and breakfast preparation. The discreet live-in staff have their own accommodation next to the kitchen on the ground floor. These living quarters are independent (with their own entrance) and laid out in such a way as to cause minimum inconvenience to guests.
Two parking spaces are reserved for guests at the place where the pedestrian area begins, while a two-seater electric vehicle is also available for transportation of the elderly.
