Manatee sighting Nov. 2022. Dolphins sighting June 2024, Feb 2024. and May 2023 Bass-kin is a house located directly on the Fairhope side of Fish river. The cabin has a very inviting interior with wood panels, floor, and blinds. Bass-kin has great natural lighting with 11 windows(with natural wood blinds). You are so high up that you feel like you are in a treehouse. The ladder leading to the upstairs loft style bedroom has a full size bed with a great expansive view of the river. If you prefer not to use the ladder, the couch down on the main floor is a pullout queen size bed.
Enjoy everything about the property: kayaks, fishing poles, grilling picnic area with a Webber charcoal grill, fire pit, etc. The river is great place to spend your time! The Inside of the tiny house living area is a great place to watch a movie or football game. It has a comfortable leather couch and a 42 inch Smart TV which includes Youtube TV, which is the newest(best) streaming service that provides 70 of the best cable channels, and is easy to navigate. When watching movies, the smart tv allows you to log in to your Netflix or Amazon Prime account. We have Wifi internet with lots of power(300 mpbs!!). Big Daddy's grill is just a few blocks down the road. Big Daddy's is one of the areas most popular casual dinning restaurants located on the river. The occasional rain shower can be a little bit of a bummer at most places, but not at the cabin. Its great to hear the rain on the tin roof. Southern Summers can be hot. The cabin has two air conditioners and a dehumidifier... When combined it makes a comfortable temperature inside of the cabin.
A large portion of short term rental properties have the owners who live on or adjacent to the property. We do not live on or adjacent to the cabin.
Recent guest spotted a Bald Eagle at the property during their stay!
Listing picture disclosure: some shoreline erosion has occurred from Hurricane Sally.
Because of hazards like a child falling throught the hatch of the sleeping area and the rocky bulkhead, we ask guests not to bring children.

Overall, the cabin was great! We were in the middle location wise with many different cities to go shop and eat. We went to Fairhope, Spanish Fort, Daphne, and Foley all while staying at this cabin! All was within a 20- 30 minute drive. The shower head kept falling while showering, but other than that the cabin was great for our stay.
Lovely little cabin. My husband and I stay in tiny cabins all over the US when we travel and we both noted this to be one of our favorites so far. We were lucky it rained while we were there so we got to experience just how cozy this cabin is. Everything you need to stay in or go out on the water is provided. We kayaked down to the restaurent nearby and loved sitting under the cabin in the mornings to watch the diving pelicans while drinking our coffee. Will be back!
Our host was amazing. Made the entire stay fantastic and accommodated us arriving an hour early when we miscalculated the time zone change. Took a kayak ride on the river and we were able to fish right of the riverbank. Would highly recommend staying here!

Excellent communication. The tiny house was fantastic. What a nice get away...would love to book again.
This is our 2nd time staying here. The hosts have been excellent both times. Great location, perfect for kayaking, and easy fishing. If you're looking for a location near downtown Fairhope and close to the gulf, this is your place!
We had a wonderful stay! The property was exactly what we were looking for—peaceful, safe, and right on the water with beautiful views. The owners were incredibly helpful, with detailed notes that made everything easy, and they responded quickly anytime we had a question. The home was well-stocked with everything we needed, and we loved having access to the kayaks and fishing poles. The quiet neighborhood made it even more relaxing. Highly recommend
This is a great place to stay for a relaxing getaway. Everything you need for hours of fishing, kayaking, and sitting around a campfire is at your fingertips. Fairhope and the surrounding location provide endless activities.

My wife and I have lived in Fairhope for almost all of our lives. We know the area real well. Anything from beaches, shopping, restaurants, hiking, boating, fishing, site seeing, etc. We can provide recommendations.
Why they chose this property
Why this property?.. I would say because its waterfront property, really comfortable, and unique. There are very few river houses in this area that you can rent on a daily basis and the ones you can rent are large. And as a result they are asking quite a bit to rent. An attribute of this place is that its not too big where we have to price it too high. This property is located in Fairhope, AL which consistently gets voted Americas favorite small town. As mentioned earlier, the west side of Fish River is the nicest part of the river. It is also closest to downtown Fairhope with its great shopping and dinning.
We get alot of guests who are couples celebrating anniversaires and birthdays.
There is a ladder leading up to a loft/sleeping area. If you have trouble climbing or get up a lot in the night, you can sleep on the pullout couch on the main floor. Special precautions should be made while up in the loft; closing the hatch while up there and not standing on the hatch door.
What makes this property unique
The cabin gives you a rustic feel. You are high up and get an amazing view of the river. The neighborhood is great. Its located on a dead end street. Not a lot of traffic. Everyone is real friendly.
