Unbelievable spot!

Cozy cottage on a bluff overlooking the ocean. Spectacular views and great location, with easy access to downtown Santa Barbara and Montecito. Lots of great wineries for day trips. Highly recommend.

Idyllic!

Loved being “on” the ocean but also being above it, maybe 60’. Views expansive. In a nice walkable neighborhood. Comfortable beach cottage. Lots of windows. Great communication with the owner. Stayed 2 weeks and wish it was 2 months.

Peaceful and Beautiful

Wow! Laura's home is a wonderful beach cottage. The views are spectacular, you can literally sit on the couch and watch wave after wave. I prefer the outdoors: the deck and patio are so relaxing, I fell asleep there. Even though we were there during rather intense storms, there was no problem at all with the cottage. We had a fire and that was truly nice. Laura is responsive and easy to work with. I always prefer renting directly from a homeowner rather than through a management team. I'm already looking forward to renting again and again!

Awesome View, but dirty and needs maintenance.

The view and location are great, the house is in desperate need of maintenance, paint is pealing off of bathroom ceiling, house was dirty, all dishes had to be washed before they could be used, the white couch is very dirty, windows have cracked glass, tarps on the roof due to leaks..

View is worth every penny

We stayed here for our honeymoon. The view was stunning. It rained a few days and we could still see and hear the ocean in front of the cozy fireplace. House isn’t updated, so if you’re looking for modern, this isn’t your vibe. That being said, the house is so charming and comes equipped with everything you could need. We enjoyed grilling on the deck and used the fireplace several times. We didn’t rent a car, opting for Ubers and Lyfts instead. We had no issue getting rides and everything was 5-10 minutes away no matter which area of town, so the location was perfect. Communication with the owner was easy!

Oceanfront Home Centrally Located to California Landmarks

We greatly enjoyed our stay at the oceanfront cottage with the ocean right outside the picture windows and deck. We loved beachcombing at the nearby beach as well as watching the pelicans, seagulls, dolphins, surfers, and occasional whale spout while relaxing on the deck. The property is very quiet and located in a friendly neighborhood with lots of bikers, walkers, and dog walkers passing by. The house and furniture were comfortable and clean, and we enjoyed the ping pong table in the garage. The decor was wonderful, and we appreciated the good quality and variety of kitchenware; large, thick, and comfy towels; and grip bars in the shower. To improve the ambience for the renter even more, we recommend replacing the showerheads, additional lighting in the bedrooms, and adding niceties like kleenix. The heat, WiFi and TVs worked well; the house was in good repair except for two burned out lightbulbs in the bathroom, which we replaced.The laundry center was very appreciated, as we didn't have to pack as much on our trip. The property was just a short drive to Santa Barbara landmarks like Stearns Wharf and the Zoo as well as a central location for trips to Ojai, Lompoc, and Channel Islands National Park. The owner, Laura, was very welcoming and communicative. Overall, we had a fun and relaxing time and recommend the Edgewater home to all.

This is an old cottage that makes you feel right at home. Amazing views and easy location to get to anything you need.The owner was very quick to get to me when a branch broke off the big tree. She had it cleaned up the next day. She is super nice and very easy to deal with.Bring your sunscreen and enjoy the deck and view.

Beautiful location

Lara is a great communicator and check in was a breeze. The location of the cottage is a beautiful bluff above the beach. The cottage was comfortable with everything you need to stay tucked in for the day or easily go back and forth to town. The cottage needs a few repairs (some single pane cracked windows in the master bedroom) but is otherwise very lovely and comfortable. The clothes drier needed repairs while we were there and Lara kept us informed and was available by phone. It was a memorable weekend and I will definitely book it again!

Santa Barbara beach property with stunning views!

My wife and I stayed here with our three adult children in late April. Beach cottage is a bit of an understatement! Here's a list of things we enjoyed most about this Vrbo:- Laura is a friendly, responsive host- Great location and *stunning* views (several dolphin sightings from the deck)- Close to grocery stores, coffee shops, and restaurants- Lots of outdoor seating- Plenty of towels and linens- Extra throws/blankets in the living room- Ping pong table in the garage- Did I mention dolphin sightings? :-)

We went to SB for my son’s wedding to get away from busy down town , took only 13 minutes by car . Messa is a cute town everything you need is walkable distance , food booze , restaurants , conscience stores . The view of pacific is memorizing , perfect sunsets ,. Perfect patie !

The location and view can’t be beat

The two patios/decks and the panoramic views are the crown jewels of this beachside property atop a bluff overlooking the Channel Islands. A blend of sun and shade shifts during the day adding to the comfort and calm of the serene setting. Beach access is steps and stairs away (just down the street and down 240 stairs), but we preferred the family friendly Hendry’s Beach down Cliff Drive. The house is a short drive from downtown Santa Barbara and many local attractions. A delivery of new patio cushions arrived on our first day to replace a set that was older and dirty. This demonstrated to us that the owner is attentive to guests and their experiences. The house is comfortable with open views and lots of daylight. The interior is a blend of comfort and some slightly outdated items, but you don’t stay in a property like this to remain indoors. It definitely had enough amenities to feel like a home away from home. We were extremely satisfied and would stay here again. Highly recommended!

Beautiful stay!

This property is amazing! It was the perfect size for our party of 4 adults and 2 children. The location and view are unbeatable. There is a large yard that includes a beautiful deck, grassy area and separate brick patio all looking over the ocean. Bring your binoculars (one pair was provided) because we spotted dolphins every day of our stay. The home is in a quiet residential area with perfect streets for walking. The closest beach is down a long staircase so we chose to drive just a few minutes down the road to a larger beach. The house is well maintained and well stocked. Communication with the owner was excellent. Beaches, downtown shops and restaurants, the zoo and the mission were all just a short drive from the home. We look forward to booking this home again!
