About this property

Beautiful Studio 200 yards to the sand, minimum 31 day rent

This beautiful, newly remodeled little studio apartment is perfect for a couple looking to get away to the beach and have a cozy time together. Located 200 yards from the nicest beach in Carpinteria, directly across from the Salt Marsh bird sanctuary, and walking distance to the town of Carpinteria.  This unit has a small kitchenette, so you can prepare small meals.  There's no oven or stove, and the kitchen is small, so it's not designed for preparing elaborate meals.  There microwave, toaster, and coffee maker, so you can prepare simple breakfast, microwave meals, and simple meals.  There's a large screen t.v., with movie channels, and good internet wifi. There's a full-size couch and a small counter dining area with bar stools.  The unit is approximately  260 square feet, so it is best suited for 1 or 2 people.

Carpinteria is a old-fashion little beach town rarely found anymore.  The main town is around 1 mile square and can be walked in less than an hour.  There are dozens and dozens of small local restaurants, and lots of local novelty shops.  It's the kind of town where you'll feel safe walking around at night.  The town is largely unchanged for the last 60 years, where my husband and brother walked all around town, unsupervised,  when they were only 6 or 7 years old.  Santa Barbara and Ventura are 15-20 minutes away, so you have lots of large restaurants and things to do just a short drive away.  The town is easily walkable and you'll see tons of people enjoying riding their bicycles all around town.  There's also a local trolly that drives around town all day long and costs 50 cents to ride.  It's also convenient to drive your car when you prefer not to walk.  There is also an Amtrak depot about 3 blocks from the apartment, making it possible to visit Carpinteria without a car.

Comfortable, clean, silent, this place had everything we needed for a very nice weekend in Carpinteria. Just a few steps from the beach, and walking distance from the charming downtown. We will be definitely booking again.

We had a sweet stay at Tropic Shores. Short walk to the beach. Had perfect weather everyday!!! Nice small beach community without the crowds. Our place had everything we needed, clean, comfortable bed, nice towels. Lots of great people in Carpinteria!!! We’ll be back.

Pleasant Beach Get-Away
Elena’s property is so close to the beautiful beach and the welcoming town of Carpinteria, and even better for us, the part of the beach that allows dogs starts right at her road. She had all of the items we needed for a fun stay away including a mini fridge/freezer, dishes, a griddle for cooking, a coffee maker with provided coffee, some beach towels and chairs, and a very welcoming sleeping area. And, honestly, the bathroom might have been my favorite part. Very clean shower with soft towels and she provided toiletries for a couple days worth of our stay. My husband and I really enjoyed our time staying here, and would love to stay again. My only suggestion for you with this rental is that if you’re a very loud person or have someone coming with you who is, this might not be the best rental for you as it’s very close to multiple other units who may be easily disturbed by loud noises. But if you’re pretty quiet and chill, maybe this is the place for you!

they need an air conditioner
room is adjacent to dryer and cleaner and makes room about 10-15 degrees hotter than outside ..some noise to but definately people should be aware of the issue of it being too hot

Carpinteria has been our family's favorite vacation destination since I was a small child in the 1950's. After several years of camping at Carpinteria State Campgrounds, our parents decided to build Tropic Shores Apartments and make this our second home. A few years ago, our parents both passed, away after a full and long life, leaving Tropic Shores to the four brothers, Tom, Richard, Mike, and Jeff. Since we all feel a very special connection to Carpinteria, we decided to remodel the building from ground up, and keep it in the family for our children to enjoy.

Why they chose this property

Tropic Shores is a small building of 16 units, all located with a center courtyard of lush landscaping...some of which were planted by our father over 50 year ago. The building is very quiet and your are sure to find it easy to relax and re-energize. While we're not right on the beach, we are located so close that you can hear the waves crashing at night. 200 steps and you're on the sand. Directly across the street is the Carpinteria Salt Marsh, which is basically a bird sanctuary. You may enjoy quiet walks through the Salt Marsh watching for birds or other animals while watching the sun rise or set.

What makes this property unique

Carpinteria is one of the las remaining small beach towns found during the mid 1900's, essentially unchanged over the last 5 or 6 decades. It's a town where you may feel safe allowing your children to walk or bicycle through town on their own. Named "The World's Safest Beach" because of the protection of the Channel Islands, the surf rarely gets very large...but still large enough to enjoy the waves. When you're ready for something more exciting, there are dozens of wineries, golf courses, movie theaters, and restaurants in nearby Santa Barbara and Ventura.
