Need some down time away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life? If so, the Twin Maple Cottage is for you, surrounded by rolling farm land, and gorgeous mountain views. The home is totally renovated with all new furnishings including mattresses, appliances, hickory floors, custom cabinetry, ceramic tile and carpet. Enjoy quite time in the front porch swing watching beautiful sunsets or on the large back deck watching the sunrise over rolling hills. Located just 5 miles from the local town, but remote enough to feel like you are getting away! Just 25 miles from Blacksburg. Local attractions include Claytor Lake, The New River Trail, Randolph Park, Gatewood Park and the Pulaski Yankee minor league baseball team. Due to the rural location no WIFI or cable is currently available. TV gets 19 channels via antenna . We have cell phone reception through Verizon, and do not have a problem with service. However, reception with other providers could vary.

Beautiful country setting

Everything was as described and very well- equipped for a family stay. Enjoyed the fresh muffins left for us. The rural setting was lovely and enjoyed a wonderful dinner at the Mason Jar. The host sets a very thoughtful and comfortable stay.

Twin Maple Cottage for the win! The cottage is beautiful, all new, and immaculate. But, the best part is the front porch. It was hard to leave the cool breeze under the maple trees. Bonus firefly show in the evening. What a wonderful spot!

Return to serenity

This was our second visit to this beautiful cottage and it was spectacular once again!! The host’s easy flexibility with our changing needs leading up to the VT graduation week was phenomenal - Jill really made our trip planning process stress free!! The cottage is immaculate and the setting is stunning. Jill provided such thoughtful touches like scrumptious blueberry muffins on arrival and all the items we needed to relax and enjoy our stay!! From the gorgeous misty sunrises over the rolling hills to the soothing sound of mooing cows in the fields, this is the place to be for a peaceful getaway!!!!

A Hidden Gem!

I almost hate to write this review for fear of alerting everyone to this wonderful property. It is located within an easy drive of VA Tech. A wonderful little house with 3 bedrooms, well-stocked kitchen, spacious living area, decks and porches in a beautiful agricultural setting. We loved waking up to cows bellowing, mist rising above the green surrounding pasture, and two lovely maples casting shadows over the front porch swing. Jill really makes you feel welcome...we appreciate all the small touches including coffee and muffins. We plan make this a regular accomodation for future trips to the Blacksburg area.

Our experience was awesome!

This was our first experience with VRBO. Our host, Jill, was quick to answer any and all of our questions immediately. The property was more beautiful than I could have imagined! The house was immaculate and fully stocked with everything we needed for our stay, including fresh blueberry muffins on the counter for our arrival. The grounds were heavenly…mountains, trees, roaming cows. We enjoyed the covered porch in the evening and the back deck in the morning. We also enjoyed a fire in the fire pit when the day was done. We visited our children at VT for the weekend. The drive was a bit further than we would have liked but the house was worth it. We enjoyed the fire pit and having coffee on the back porch each morning. It was so peaceful and so beautiful. We would go back.

Super clean and comfortable house in the country. Very quiet and peaceful sitting on the front porch with only a few cars and some farm equipment going by the house once in a while and yes, everybody waved as they drove by! Not many restaurants around for dinner so we did eat in one night.

It is an amazing little house on a beautiful property! I say "little," but my family of five were extremely comfortable. Jill made sure we were welcomed in good southern fashion, too! The only thing we REALLY didn't like about the property was that our trip was so short and busy we didn't get to stay as much as we'd have liked! If you can make the one bathroom work (and we did just fine), and want a true getaway, we would highly recommend making this hidden gem!

Jill and Rodney both graduated from Emory and Henry College. Jill grew up locally while Rodney is from Chesterfield County. We have two children that are recent college graduates. One from Va Tech and the other from James Madison. We both work locally in Radford. Rodney has his own woodworking business that he did full time until 2012. He still does custom cabinetry in his spare time. We purchased this house in 2011 which is across the street from the 5 acre parcel of land which contains my custom cabinet shop. The house was getting in disrepair and we decided to purchase the house to give it new life. We were just going to do a simple remodel but one thing turned into another and we gutted the house inside and out. Family and friends have been involved with this project in one way or another. This has been done in my spare time but has finally been completed in 2019. It has been quite the experience.
