About this property
Old stone house completely renovated in 2019
This pleasant limousine stone house, steeped in history and completely renovated, awaits you in Sant Yrieix La Perche. This city at the gates of Périgord (Ville Fleurie: 3 flowers classified among the "most beautiful detours in France") evokes the landscapes of Dordogne and Corrèze nearby.
The house is located in a hamlet made up of three houses. It is bordered by a river and a reach that formerly led the water to a mill dating from the beginning of the 16th century, which has since disappeared.
Located in a peaceful environment 3 km from the center of Saint-Yrieix la Perche, the house has 3 bedrooms (one on the mezzanine), a dining room and a kitchen. It can accommodate up to 6 people. From the house or the garden the landscape opens onto a meadow occupied by horses belonging to the nearby equestrian center.
Occitan land, Saint Yrieix has a very pretty medieval city from which emerges a magnificent collegiate church (12th - 13th century) and the keep of the Tour du Plô (13th century)
In this land of "tree and water" many activities are offered (developed below): walks - sports - swimming - fishing - shows ....
I am of course at your disposal for any questions relating to the rental of the house and its environment.
But whatever your tastes whatever your choices we wish you spend in this beautiful Arédien country of excellent holidays!
Some precisions …
Saint Yrieix… a revisited past
Over the past centuries Saint Yrieix has prospered from the exploitation of gold deposits and Limoges porcelain thanks to the extraction of kaolin (white clay). The archaeological site of Marcognac open to the public still testifies to this tremendous transformation from the agricultural world to that of industry (the novel and series telé by GE Clancier "Le pain noir" and whose action takes place at the doors of the house in describes all aspects.
Hobbies
Are offered in particular:
- walks (hiking trails - parks - day and night markets - fishing lakes: Saint Yrieix (7 mins) and in particular that of Rouffiac - 15 mins (sandy beach - swimming - tree climbing - water skiing - sail… )
- an equestrian center
- a large aquatic center
Cultural life
She is rich throughout the year. It is particularly so during the summer period.
Concerts, plays, painting exhibitions, etc. are offered.
Various shows for children and adults are also scheduled ...
Visit many castles and historic sites nearby: Jumilhac, Hautefort, Coussac - Bonneval, Chalus, Segur le Chateau ..... and a little further the Dordogne valley: Montignac, Lascaux, Sarlat .....
