Overall, we loved Bev's place by the water. Great water access for boating, swimming, fishing, and wildlife watching, plus a comfortable place to stay. We also enjoyed the Bradenton area for shopping, eating, and local color. The only thing I would add is that this house is not directly on the water; it is behind a "main house" on the property, which the pictures do not show. We didn't mind, as it's a short walk around to the river. But I feel the listing isn't clear about there being an obstructed view. Otherwise, the kitchen was well stocked with cooking utensils, the lot is huge and peaceful, and the dolphins do in fact swim by most afternoons, as advertised. Would love to go back sometime.

Hi, thank you for your review. After reading your very kind review, I reread the description and made it clearer that the front of the cottage is on grounds that face a beautiful horse ranch and 200yr old Oaks. I followed with walking out the back door and down the drive 250ft is the 100ft dock, Tiki and small sandy beach. Thank you, I always want to be very clear about this precious cottage on Snead Island.

We had the best time at Bev and Len’s piece of paradise! The cottage was so comfortable and had everything we needed, it was perfect for us and our dog. Fishing and watching sunsets on the dock were great and the tiki is beautiful. We loved visiting with Len and Bev every day, we felt so welcomed, we will definitely be back!!
The tiki got a new roof while we were there, so interesting to watch it go on.
The dock has chairs, couches, table, fish cleaning table, live bait well, literally everything!
Finally caught that snook! He’s waiting for the next guest to catch. Hint - use a live pin fish.
We all loved the view from the dock.

Great Hosts!

We had a wonderful time at the cottage on Snead Island! It is certainly the most dog friendly place we have ever stayed. Len, Beverly and Smiley Miley are fabulous hosts and we couldn’t have felt more welcome and at home.

Overall a great stay, Bev and Len are super people - very sincere, helpful and casual and add a big bonus to the stay. If you have a four legged family member (or not) this is the place to stay!

We were looking for a low-key, centrally located property,, that we could bring our two rather large dogs, both about 80lbs. This property fit the bill perfectly. We had a relaxing stay and were able take the dogs for multiple walks at Emerson Point and enjoy the local area for small day trips.

Great cottage

We loved the cottage, especially the beach and dock. My 2 little dogs got to go play on the beach area and we saw crabs, dolphins and a stingray! It was a wonderful vacation. We loved talking with Len! Thanks a lot!!
