This was a cute place and good location. The pellet stove kept clogging up and we were a bit cold.

Thank you for leaving a review of our space. We would love the chance to host you again, and hopefully add that extra star to your experience. Guest satisfaction is our top priority.
Recently, we ugraded the heating in all of our units to heat pump heating, which is very efficient for warming the entire space in the winter and doubles as air conditioning in the summer months.
We are sorry to hear that your pellet stove didn't work during your stay, and want to ensure you that we would have been happy to address the issue while you were still on site had we known. We did some diagnostics, and it looks like the igniter needed to be replaced. These days, we consider the pellet stoves more of an ambiance factor than a heat factor.
Please do come back again some day!
This beautiful, peaceful, beachfront cabin exceeded all of our expectations! It was so well stocked with amenities and Kelly Ann was the most amazing host; answering all my questions before and during our stay!!!! I can’t recommend Salted Roots enough!!!
The layout inside and out, amenities, location and cleanliness and comfort were great! Definitely recommend if you are spending time in Seward. Loved being across from the water where we saw eagles and otters. Super convenient drive to town while being out a way where it was quiet. Loved the fire pit. Bathroom was a great size and showers were spacious with double heads. Plenty of space for two couples. Very modern and cozy. Also, check out the Flamingo Lounge - what a treat! Will be back!
Great quiet location across the lane from Resurrection Bay. Full kitchen, great bathroom (especially showers and soaking tub), comfortable beds. Large window wall brings in the beauty of the area.
Easy access to town yet a great way to step away

Thank you for our first ever review at Salted Roots in 2020 - just incase you find your way back, our Wi-Fi has been updated! Your advice to guests was even better - enjoy the nature. It's so lovely here!
A beautiful property for those looking to explore Seward and the Kenai Fjords National Park. The Blue Door A-Frame was perfect for our party of 6.
And the bathroom……..absolutely AMAZING!
The owners of Salted Roots also own the Flamingo Lounge in Seward. By far the best Halibut during our 2 week stay in Alaska.
We highly recommend this property and hope to return some day.

Lovely cabin, attentive owners
Generally, we had a great stay, and this was a decent base of operations for the Seward area. The cabin is fairly well-appointed, and a nice size for a family of four. The owners were helpful and quick with some small issues that did arise.
I would add that this area south of Seward is busier than expected, and there was more car traffic on the Beach Road than expected. It is a nice cabin, but the activity in the area prevents it from being an oasis of calm.

Thank you for taking the time to leave us a thorough review with notes on how to improve. We wanted to let you know that access to the campground on the North end of Beach Drive has been closed, which has greatly decreased traffic in the area. We're open year-round, and Lowell Point is very quaint in the winter months. We would love to host you again!

What a lovely property!! We really enjoyed our stay and would go back tomorrow. The area around the home is trying to revitalize- and we always felt safe. The views are AMAZING from the Blue Door which we felt was the best of the cabins. Matt the owner has also opened the Flamingo Lounge in town and it was our favorite meal along with Ray's on the Water. Trust me - go there first - you will love the food and drinks!!! They were the BEST hosts!!!!!
This house was awesome! We loved the views of the bay with the mountains on the other side. The sauna and firepit were used often. The shower was amazing. The overall style of the house was so unique. It was the perfect combination of outdoorsy and comfortable with several upscale touches. I have stayed in many VRBO homes. This is the first one where every bed in the house was comfortable. This unit worked out perfect because my family of 5 was in one unit and the family we travelled with (family of 6) was in the other unit. I highly recommend the blue and red cabins!

Thank you for the review! We love the nuvaform mattresses from CostCo - we've added a few new units next door and the beds have stayed the same.
This property did not disappoint. It was the absolute perfect home to rent while exploring Seward and Kenai-Fjords. The home is a perfect retreat in the woods with views of mountains. Also, just across the street is access to the bay, a lovely seating area for guests to enjoy the sights and sounds. There is a wood fired sauna and fire pit the family enjoyed. The house fit our family of 5 very well. That bathroom was a luxury every day. The best part of our entire trip! Thank you for sharing this home with us. We hope to return someday!

About the host
Hosted by Matt and KellyAnn Cope
We met in San Diego and have always been drawn to salt water. We left in exploration of more things wild: mountains to climb, waters to kayak, trails to run, perspectives to encounter. We spent 3 years on the road, living out of our car and exploring North America’s public lands and communities, stumbling upon spaces, places, and people who inspired us and ultimately sharpened the pencil that created Salted Roots.
Seward won our hearts, with mountains, the ocean, and a national park right in our backyard. Alaska is wild - wild enough for us vagabonds to settle down roots… and then naturally the idea for Salted Roots sprouted. We bought the land in 2017, were married there shortly after, and began throwing together our future plans for the project with close friends. Our community helped us clear the land, build this website, and make our vision a reality.
Why they chose this property
Situated at the head of Resurrection Bay on the Kenai Peninsula, Seward is one of Alaska’s oldest and most scenic communities. Nestled between Chugach National Forest and Kenai Fjords National Park, come experience trophy sport fishing, glacier and wildlife cruises, sailing, hiking, kayaking, flightseeing, summer dog sled rides, and more.
What makes this property unique
Our services are pre-emptive, honest, attentive, humble, and modern. This is high-tech, high-touch. We seek to provide a new canvas in the way of hospitality. We are reinventing the concept of Alaskan tourism. We aim to inspire, to change people’s mind, and to give back to the community that continues to inspire us. Cue the music, start the campfire, grab the whiskey, bring a friend, share a story, and stay as long as you’d like. We’re here to start the revolution.
